In the lush herb fields, an unusually large Ivysaur was using a Water-type Hidden Power to water the medicinal plants.

Beside it, several Lilligant were monitoring the growth of the herbs, using their Grassy Terrain to nourish them.

Medicinal herbs nurtured by Venusaur and Lilligant, both experts at accelerating plant growth, were far more potent than those found on the market.Full novel: Pokémon : Leisurely Daily Life in the Pokémon World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

This was one of the Ronan family’s secrets.

These Pokémon were quite powerful.

One of the Lilligant belonged to Ronan’s grandfather; although it wasn’t particularly inclined toward combat, its cyan-tier potential (Pokémon potential is ranked by the seven colors of the rainbow, with purple being the highest and red the lowest), combined with his grandfather’s training, had allowed it to reach the Elite Four level.

It was the family’s trump card.

Currently, it was teaching several Petilil and a newly evolved Lilligant how to utilize Grassy Terrain.

As the green domain expanded, Ronan felt a pleasant warmth envelop him, making him feel incredibly comfortable.

The surrounding herbs also seemed to brim with more vitality.

Ronan observed the progress of the herbs before patting the Ivysaur’s large head.

He inspected its flower bud and, after assessing its development, harvested several mature herbs to prepare a tonic for the Pokémon.

“Ba-na!” Ivysaur Potential: Green Gender: Male Ability: Chlorophyll Level: 58 Moves: Tackle, Vine Whip, Razor Leaf, Leech Seed, Solar Beam, Mega Drain, Ingrain, Synthesis, Hidden Power (Water), Energy Ball, Grassy Terrain, Sweet Scent, Sunny Day, Stun Spore, Sleep Powder, Poison Powder, Venoshock TM Moves: Swords Dance, Protect, Bullet Seed The panel provided by the system helped Ronan better train his Pokémon and identify those with high potential.

After all, a Pokémon with green potential had a chance to reach the Quasi-Elite Four level, or even the Elite Four level with the right opportunity—though that was exceptionally difficult.

Consequently, Pokémon with green potential were incredibly valuable.

Ivysaur’s potential was deep green, already showing a faint cyan halo.

Ronan believed that after evolving, it would successfully transition to the cyan tier.

This meant there would be few obstacles for Venusaur before reaching the Elite Four level.

Ronan’s Ivysaur stood 1.7 meters tall.

Typical members of its species were usually between 1.0 to 1.5 meters, and even a Venusaur’s average height was only around 2 meters.

This Ivysaur had nearly reached the physical stature of an adult Venusaur.

This was thanks to the Ronan family’s specialized tonics and their expertise in breeding Grass-type Pokémon.

When dealing with plants, Grass-types possessed a natural advantage.

The family’s unique insights into training Grass-types ensured that the Ivysaur was exceptionally well-developed.

Ronan had received Bulbasaur when he was ten.

Under his meticulous care, it had long since met the conditions for evolution.

Building up enough reserves before the final evolution would allow its strength to surge rapidly afterward.

After completing his observations, Ronan left the herb field and headed toward the back mountain.

At the foot of the mountain lived a group of Budew and Roselia, along with several Roserade, their final evolution.

The entire line from Budew to Roselia consisted of dual-type Grass and Poison Pokémon.

They were one of the high-potential species the Ronan family specialized in.

Since they weren’t common in the Hoenn region, they commanded a very high market price.

To better cultivate them, various poisonous plants were grown nearby, tended to by the Roselia and Roserade.

Many of these toxic plants had been specifically sought out by the Ronan family elders.

One particular variety, a pinkish-purple seven-leaf flower, was highly beneficial for the growth of the Roselia line, as it could enhance their toxicity.

Tonics made from this flower and other plants were also useful for developing the poisonous traits of other Grass or Poison-type Pokémon.

Ronan directed the Pokémon to harvest a large amount of the seven-leaf flowers to replenish the shop’s stock.

He then called for Ivysaur to deliver the toxic herbs to his laboratory.

Indeed, Ronan was already an Intermediate Breeder.

He was naturally gifted in breeding, and the sensory enhancements provided by the system made crafting medicines and Pokéblocks even easier.

Most of the expensive medicines, Pokéblocks, incense, and potions in the daycare were personally crafted by him and were very popular.

The back mountain was Ronan’s top priority, as most of the rare medicinal herbs and fruit trees collected by his family were transplanted there.

Furthermore, some of the Pokémon left behind by previous generations of the Ronan family stood guard there.

Though they were old, Grass-types enjoyed very long lifespans.

As a result, the defenses of the back mountain were even more formidable than those of the daycare or the farm.

Although Ronan felt there was little to worry about regarding the mountain’s safety, he believed one could never be too cautious when it came to personal security.

…

By the time he descended from the back mountain, it was nearly noon.

Patting his stomach, Ronan took Chimecho back to the cottage for lunch.

Beside the dining table, an Audino had already prepared a sumptuous meal and was standing by obediently.

Hearing the door creak open, it trotted over to greet Ronan and Chimecho.

“Chime!

Chime!” Chimecho happily circled the Audino.

Ronan pinched the Audino’s soft, squishy cheeks and thanked it sincerely.

“Tabun-ne!” Audino pulled Ronan and Chimecho to the table and began serving them food.

“Your cooking is getting better and better, Audino.

You should eat too.” Ronan offered a compliment and dug in.

After a morning of patrolling and hiking, he had worked up quite an appetite.

Besides, he had to finish mixing the poison-enhancing tonics that were out of stock in the afternoon, which was no easy task.
