Wen Niao picked up a piece of fish, carefully picked out almost all the bones, and placed it into Luo Jin’s bowl. Interrupting Luo Jin’s train of thought, this gesture cleared away the jumbled thoughts currently spinning in his head.

Looking at the boneless piece of fish, warmth bloomed in Luo Jin’s chest. Wen Niao was truly thoughtful and attentive toward him, often being the very first person to notice his shifting moods.

To satisfy Luo Jin’s urge to pet a dog, Wen Niao led Yuanyuan and strolled straight into Luo Jin’s bedroom right after the meal.Full novel: Quick Transmigration: The Host’s Romantic Debts Are Coming Again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Luo Jin had been planning to change his clothes and go out for a walk after finishing lunch, but he caught Wen Niao and Yuanyuan sneaking around like a pair of mischievous conspirators.

“Niao Niao, what’s going on?”

Caught red-handed by Luo Jin, Wen Niao awkwardly rubbed the back of his head.

“Brother Jin, I noticed earlier at the dining table that you looked like you wanted to pet Dudu. Ta-da! Look, I brought Yuanyuan right over. You can go ahead and spoil it to your heart’s content.”

Having his inner thoughts exposed by Wen Niao, the tips of Luo Jin’s ears turned a fiery shade of red.

Gazing at the plump Dudu standing beside Wen Niao’s ankles, Luo Jin felt an itch in his heart and found himself quite tempted by the proposal.

The innocent Yuanyuan had no idea that it had just been sold out and was about to face massive torment, happily biting at the hem of Wen Niao’s pants.

Luo Jin stared at Yuanyuan with a gaze that practically screamed that it was fluffy, cute, and that he wanted to pet it.

Fixed by Luo Jin’s burning gaze, Yuanyuan felt as though it had been targeted by something, but with its simple-minded nature, it didn’t think too much of it. Its entire brain was occupied by a single thought regarding what lunch would be, whether there would be pet snacks that Yuanyuan loved, or perhaps a chicken drumstick.

Yuanyuan thought that it was unrestrained and unchained in this life, asking for nothing else, with its sole pursuit being delicious food.

Luo Jin crouched down, wanting to reach out, yet held back by a lingering sense of hesitation and fear.

Noticing Luo Jin’s hesitant demeanor, Wen Niao directly took hold of his hand and guided it step-by-step onto Yuanyuan’s fur.

Watching the fluffy paw draw closer and closer, Luo Jin’s hand trembled slightly as it got closer and closer.

The soft and smooth texture against his palm made Luo Jin feel as though his heart was melting into a puddle.

Luo Jin gave Yuanyuan’s little plump paw a gentle squeeze. It was round and chubby, living up to its name completely.

After squeezing it several times and feeling utterly satisfied, Luo Jin shifted his battleground to Yuanyuan’s soft ears.

Lying beside Wen Niao, Yuanyuan was growing drowsy, its ears drooping slightly while soft snores escaped its throat.

Seeing that Yuanyuan didn’t mind the attention, Luo Jin grew a bit bolder, folding Yuanyuan’s ears into airplane mode before flipping them upright again.

With airplane ears, Yuanyuan looked much more approachable and obedient.

With upright ears, paired with the Husky’s handsome and dashing face combined with its characteristically foolish expression, it looked cool and imposing.

Yuanyuan thought that with a thunderous crash across the skies, this handsome guy was making his brilliant debut.

Luo Jin patted Yuanyuan’s head and decided not to disturb its nap any further.

Seeing that Luo Jin’s dog-petting session had concluded, Wen Niao leaned closer and conducted a low-voiced interview.

“Brother Jin, how was it? Pretty nice, right?”

“Mmm, Yuanyuan is very cute and quite lovable.”

Wen Niao felt a small surge of triumph.

“Hmph, of course. Our Yuanyuan has been cute since it was a puppy. Back in the day, it was the kind of adorable that made countless young girls’ eyes sparkle with stars. No one has ever been able to easily resist Yuanyuan’s adorable awooo critical strike.

When I was little and stayed home alone in the villa feeling bored, I would secretly scale the wall to find Brother Mo, who lived next door at the time.

Back then, Brother Mo’s family was often away for work and sent him living expenses on a regular schedule, but they rarely came home.

So, the two of us lonely kids ended up sticking together. Even though Brother Mo was five years older than me, he understood a lot of things, spoke with great humor, and was very comfortable to be around.

Yuanyuan was basically raised by both me and Brother Mo. Come to think of it, I definitely contributed massively to Yuanyuan’s current weight.”

Recalling the plot details transmitted by the system, Wen Niao felt a wave of deep, sentimental emotion welling up from the original character’s heart.

Noticing that Wen Niao had suddenly turned melancholy, Luo Jin clumsily attempted to offer comfort.

“Wen Niao, no matter what happens in the future, I will always stay by your side. With me accompanying you in the days to come, you will never be lonely again.”

Seeing Luo Jin offer such earnest comfort, Wen Niao couldn’t help wanting to chuckle. How could anyone deliver words of comfort in such a solemn, promise-like tone? He was so endearing.

Noticing Wen Niao trying and failing to suppress a smile, Luo Jin asked with a puzzled expression.

“I am being serious, Wen Niao. I’m not joking around,” Luo Jin stated with utmost, righteous solemnity.

“Sorry, Brother Jin, the way you comfort people is just too adorable, I couldn’t help myself, hahaha. Absolutely legendary.”

Luo Jin’s face filled with question marks. Adorable? Me? Do I actually make adorable expressions?

Forget it, whether he did or not, if Wen Niao thought he was, then he guessed he was.

You might as well just spoil him rotten.

Wen Niao looked down at Yuanyuan, who was sleeping soundly, felt a wave of helpless amusement, and sighed softly.

“Ah, Brother Jin, watching this silly dog sleep so soundly makes me feel a bit sleepy too. Right, Brother Jin, you probably don’t know the newest way to use a Husky. Come on, lie down right here.”

Wen Niao patted Yuanyuan’s plump belly, inviting Luo Jin to lie down alongside him.

Luo Jin felt rather awkward, not daring to place the full weight of his head onto Yuanyuan’s stomach, keeping half of his head suspended in the air by relying on his back muscles.

Seeing Luo Jin act this way, Wen Niao was reminded of the time Xia Moxi had first dragged him down to lie on Yuanyuan’s belly, leaving him just as rigid and awkwardly out of place.

“Brother Jin, just relax and lie down, it’s totally fine. I used to do this with Brother Mo all the time, nothing bad ever happens. Look, Yuanyuan is still sleeping soundly.”

Wen Niao pointed at Yuanyuan, who was sleeping upside down beneath them. Seeming to sense someone calling its name, Yuanyuan swept its fluffy tail across Wen Niao’s face a couple of times before settling back down without a care.

Wen Niao scratched the tip of his nose, whispered a sleepy afternoon greeting to Luo Jin, and drifted off into a sweet dream.

Sunlight filtered through the glass, a gentle breeze swept past, the curtains swayed lightly, and light and shadows danced across the room. Indoors, Wen Niao and Luo Jin leaned against one another, sleeping soundly.

Time seemed to freeze at this very moment.

An occasional murmured whisper drifted out into the quiet air.

Pleasant dreams made the ticking of the clock feel all the faster. When Wen Niao woke up, dusk was already approaching. He rubbed his eyes and looked around, noticing that Luo Jin had woken up earlier than him and was currently down in the kitchen.

Wondering where Luo Jin had gone, Wen Niao walked unsteadily and made his way downstairs.

A wisp of rich aroma drifted out from the kitchen. Hooked by the scent, Wen Niao instantly regained his energy, abandoning all pretense of sleep as he sprinted straight toward the kitchen to see what delicious dinner preparations smelled so amazing.

The fragrance gradually floated upstairs as well, waking up the deeply slumbering Yuanyuan.

Still keeping its eyes half-closed while sleeping, Yuanyuan didn’t forget to twitch its nose to sniff out the source of the delicious smell. Guided by the aroma, it ambled over to the kitchen doorway.

Upon reaching its destination, Yuanyuan gave a graceful stretch, shook out its fur, and then dashed excitedly into the kitchen alongside Wen Niao.

Inside the kitchen, Luo Jin was wearing a Pikachu apron and following a cooking tutorial video on his phone.

Seeing Luo Jin inside the kitchen, Wen Niao looked puzzled.

“Brother Jin, why are you cooking? Where are the servants? And didn’t Dad and Mommy come back yet?”

“The villa servants all had the day off today. There was supposed to be a chef on standby, but something came up at his home, so Aunt Tang gave him leave to handle his family matters first.

There was an emergency meeting at the group, so Aunt Tang rushed over to help Uncle Wen out. That leaves just the two of us and Yuanyuan here in the house. I saw you were still sleeping earlier, so I came up to start making dinner.”
