“Ahem. Have all of you finished the work in your hands?! Ordering people around to pour tea and serve water—did the company hire you to have someone wait on you hand and foot?!”

Yin Wenbo wore a frosty expression. Every single one of them was acting completely out of line.

Yin Wenbo rarely interfered with newcomer affairs, making this the first time he had spoken up. Hearing Assistant Yin’s scolding tone, the secretaries all reined in their behavior a bit.

w-444: “Mumu, how can you be so ridiculously pretty? Even lowering your head or knitting your brows looks like a painted landscape! But it seems being beautiful doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want—those women are clearly just green with envy.”

Aside from the head executive secretary, the secretarial team surrounding Su Chen included several others handling various administrative affairs. Most of them were women, though a few were men.

“I get the feeling they see me as a romantic rival. A good number of them have their eyes set right on Su Chen.”

A diamond bachelor possessing both insane wealth and lethal good looks—who wouldn’t be smitten?

w-444: “Mumu, do you want to make that romantic rivalry a reality?”

System w-444 blinked its huge, luminous eyes, staring longingly at Su Mu.

“You’re talking out of your ass.”

w-444: “…”

Sob sob sob~

What happened to buying it new custom skins?! This woman didn’t love it anymore!

Seeing as it was nearly time for the morning shift to end, Su Mu glanced at the chief executive secretary’s icy demeanor, then thought about how she was requesting a half-day leave on her very first day on the job…

Chances were it wouldn’t be approved.

If she hadn’t been worried about Su Chen being seduced by the Little White Lotus female lead, she would have come a few days later instead. By then, once new recruits joined the company, everyone wouldn’t be staring right at her to order her around for every little errand.

With that thought, Su Mu went directly to see Yin Wenbo.

Regardless of the outcome, she would request leave first. If the chief executive secretary got unhappy and fired her on the spot—well, that would be the company’s decision, having nothing to do with her.

“…Alright.”

Aside from smilingly approving her leave, what else could Yin Wenbo possibly do?

Even if this young auntie didn’t come to work and simply walked out without a word, he wouldn’t dare say a single thing against it.

Having successfully secured her leave, Su Mu had barely returned to her desk when Secretary Wen Xin dumped a thick stack of files right in front of her.

“You—take these files to the President’s office.”

Su Mu: “…”

Weren’t they strictly keeping her away from Su Chen earlier? Did someone take the wrong medication today?

Su Mu glanced at the time—there were still thirty minutes left before the lunch break.

“Oh.”

Indifferently gathering the documents into her arms, she walked toward the President’s office. Seeing this, a gloating smile curled up the corners of Wen Xin’s lips.

“Hey, I’m telling you, the President is in the middle of a massive rage right now. She doesn’t know a thing about how to act—sending her in there is just asking for her to get chewed out! If his anger spills over onto us, every single one of us might suffer.”

Someone nearby voiced their concern, but Wen Xin merely let out a cold snort.

“I sent her in specifically so she’d get chewed out!”

It was time someone taught her a lesson—just because she possessed a bit of beauty didn’t mean she could look down on everyone else. What absolute trash.

Holding the file folder in her arms, Su Mu arrived at the door of the President’s office and prepared to knock, only to discover the door wasn’t fully closed. The very next second, a thunderous crash echoed from within!

BANG!

The crisp sound of shattering porcelain caused Su Mu to pause for a beat.

She recalled that the office floor was covered with thick plush carpeting—just how much force had been used to shatter something like that?

Did Su Chen possess violent tendencies? Or did he just have a explosive temper?

“Little Cutie, being obsessed over by a male supporting lead like this—I suddenly feel a little sorry for the female lead.”

What would happen if he resorted to violence at the slightest disagreement? The female lead’s fragile little frame wouldn’t stand a chance in a fight!

“GET OUT—!”

A harsh, furious roar burst out from inside the office, so icy it made one shiver.

No wonder those secretaries were so willing to hand this errand over to her.

Just as the thought crossed her mind, the office door swung open. A company manager, his face pale as a ghost and his forehead drenched in cold sweat, stumbled out with extreme caution.

Su Mu hesitated for a second before reaching out to knock on the door.

“Enter.”

The voice came out crisp, concise, and chillingly cold.

Su Mu pushed the door open and stepped directly inside.

Setting the files onto the executive desk, Su Mu finally caught sight of Su Chen’s thoroughly exhausted expression. He was leaning back in his leather chair with his eyes closed, his fingers massaging his temples.

Being a financial titan wasn’t easy either—look at how a perfectly fine human being had been driven into such a fury.

“Why did you get so worked up?”

Su Mu spoke after pausing for a brief moment.

As Su Chen’s younger sister, Su Mu felt it was best to ask and check in on him.

Hearing Su Mu’s voice, Su Chen opened his eyes abruptly.

“You’re here. Take a look at this yourself.”

Su Chen casually tossed a proposal document over to Su Mu. She picked it up and flipped through it.

Hmm…

She had slaughtered Heavenly Dao gods before, but she had genuinely never studied business management.

Hadn’t they promised that no brainpower was required here in the Romance Department?

“I can’t understand a word.”

Su Chen: “…”

“Then what have you been doing all morning?”

If she couldn’t even make sense of a simple document, what could she possibly be doing?

“Pouring tea, serving water, and coasting along to collect a paycheck.”

Su Mu spoke with complete, effortless confidence.

She harbored no grand ambitions whatsoever. Life over at the Slaughter Department had been far too exhausting; all she wanted right now was to live peacefully as a wealthy parasite.

Su Chen: “…”

“Come over here. I’ll teach you.”

Su Chen let out a helpless sigh in his heart. This little girl was truly just as Father had described—if someone scammed her in the future, she might actually end up counting the stolen cash for them.

“Oh~ hold on a second.”

Su Mu hurriedly darted right out of the office.

Seeing Su Mu rush out, the secretaries waiting outside assumed she had been chewed out. Yet to their surprise, Su Mu merely swung by the pantry area to prepare a cup of chrysanthemum tea before dashing right back into the President’s office.

Wen Xin froze at the sight.

She didn’t get scolded?!

How was that possible?!

The President was in the middle of a massive rage, and there were glaring flaws within the files she had sent in—anyone caught bringing those in should have been thoroughly berated!

Could the President have taken a liking to her looks?!

Wen Xin stomped her foot in bitter frustration. If she had known this would happen, she never would have let her go in!

Having brewed a fresh cup of chrysanthemum tea, Su Mu set it down in front of Su Chen.

“Drink some chrysanthemum tea to cool down your temper.”

Lest he end up taking out his rage on her later.

Gazing at the cup of chrysanthemum tea Su Mu had brought over, Su Chen’s eyes met her clear, bright gaze. A sudden wave of amusement washed over him, dispersing the irritation in his chest in an instant.

“I’m not throwing a temper. Come over here.”

Su Chen gestured for her to approach. Su Mu glanced at the clock again—there were only a dozen or so minutes left before the lunch break. She doubted how much he could teach her in fifteen minutes.

Stepping up to the executive desk, Su Mu was unexpectedly pushed into the leather office chair by Su Chen. The next second, he leaned over from behind in an enclosing stance, hovering close as he explained the contents of the document point by point, his warm breath lightly fanning against her ear.

Su Mu: “…”

She felt like something was off, yet she couldn’t quite put her finger on what it was…

Su Chen’s explanations were exceptionally clear and thorough. Within a short fifteen minutes, Su Mu had at least learned the basics of reviewing corporate files.

“Thanks, Brother! It’s break time, so I’ll head back first.”

Su Mu attempted to stand up and leave, but Su Chen’s arm remained firmly braced around the chair, locking her in place and forcing her to stay seated.

“What’s the rush? Keep listening.”

His deep voice vibrated near her ear once more.

Su Mu: “…”

Left with no choice, she spent another half hour studying under Su Chen’s guidance until a faint growl sounded from her stomach, prompting Su Chen to finally relent.

Su Mu checked the time again and made a quick dash for the exit. Yet before her hand could touch the door handle, Su Chen’s voice called out from behind.

“Eat lunch first.”

“I’m skipping lunch. I requested half-day leave for this afternoon, so I’m leaving now.”

Su Mu had already reached the office door, just one second away from opening it, when a deeply magnetic voice echoed lazily from behind her:

“If you don’t eat, your leave is denied. If you dare step out that door, I’ll tell Father the moment you get home.”

Su Mu: “…”

Holy crap—this Male Supporting Lead Number Two was a total cheap-shot scoundrel!
