16 – Saving the Village Demon
She admitted she knew nothing about relations between men and women, incapable of pleasing a man’s heart, but did he have to treat her like this? So rough.
Sang Mohan lay on the bed breathing heavily, his eyes burning with agitation. He found it strange that he hadn’t bitten her earlier—for a moment, this woman had evoked a peculiar feeling in him, making him reluctant… to harm her…
Qin Yue grimaced as she rubbed her sore bottom, completely unaware she had just narrowly escaped death.
Having failed to obtain fresh blood, the man’s inner turmoil surged once more. A low growl rumbled in his throat, his eyes turning crimson like a frenzied beast.
It felt as though countless tiny insects were gnawing at his bones. His teeth ground together with audible cracks, nearly shattering.
Noticing his strange state, Qin Yue scrambled up from the floor in panic and asked, “What’s wrong with you?”
But as she attempted to approach, Sang Mohan violently shoved her away, his bloodshot eyes glaring as he snarled, “Get out!”
Qin Yue: “…”
Was she not beautiful enough to capture his attention? How baffling. Back in Fusu Village, she had been universally acknowledged as the village belle.
Her sweet scent agitated him unbearably. He was straining to suppress his desires, clenching his jaw so tightly that he bit through his tongue. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, and he extended his crimson tongue to lick it. The taste of his own blood seemed to momentarily calm him.
Yet this tranquility lasted only a second before vanishing, replaced by even more excruciating torment. He felt that without fresh blood, he would be unable to resist draining her completely.
“Blood… I need blood…” he murmured incoherently.
Though his words were slurred, Qin Yue understood them clearly. A shiver ran down her spine—were Qingqing and the others telling the truth? Was he truly a bloodthirsty, ruthless brute?
Then his earlier actions toward her… had he been after her blood, not intimacy? The realization made her scalp crawl.
“Give me blood…”
The man clutched his hair and rolled across the bed in agony. Suddenly, he leaped up and slammed himself against the wall—his body was in such torment that he could only counter pain with more pain.
Seeing his intention, Qin Yue desperately grabbed hold of him. “Stop!”
“Get away!”
His eyes seemed to overflow with blood, his expression terrifying beyond anything she had ever witnessed. He convulsed on the floor, curling into a ball of suffering.
She retreated several steps, too afraid to approach him again. This man was truly terrifying.
But without blood, he would die. If he died, it would mean she had failed her mission in this world and wouldn’t earn the corresponding Rebirth Points. As her first mission, she refused to accept failure—it wasn’t in her nature.
Qin Yue’s mind raced for a blood substitute until her eyes fell on a basket of tomatoes meant for canning. Now, they would serve a far more critical purpose.
With lightning speed, she mashed the tomatoes, strained them for juice, her movements deft and efficient. The crimson liquid filled a large bowl, indistinguishable in color from fresh blood.
Visually, this tomato juice could easily deceive Sang Mohan. But if he took a sip and discovered the taste was wrong, his rage would surely escalate.Qin Yue contemplated the liquid in the bowl for a moment, then took out a small knife and cut her own hand…
