The Bipolar Overbearing CEO (13)
Lu Chenhan stood at the doorway, his pupils suddenly contracting sharply.
The light fell upon the person not far away, making his skin look so snow-white that it seemed to glow.
Over his shoulders and back lay a pair of stunningly shaped butterfly shoulder blades, as if a pair of holy feathered wings would sprout from them the next second. A shallow groove ran from top to bottom, connecting down to his plump buttocks, which were concealed by his pajama pants.
Perhaps having heard a sound, he turned his head slightly, revealing his soft profile.
He was stunningly beautiful and irresistibly alluring.
His body seemed to react faster than his brain as Lu Chenhan slammed the door shut, the tip of his heart burning hot.
Inside the room, Song Chubai looked at Lu Chenhan, who had just opened and then closed the door, and blinked in confusion. This person was really strange.
Associating it with the fact that his brain had a slight issue, Song Chubai did not think too much about it. After changing his clothes, he went to wash up and tidy himself.
Outside the door, Lu Chenhan’s mind repeatedly looped the scene he had just witnessed, and his body grew increasingly hot.
His hands, hanging at his sides, twitched slightly as if wanting to grasp something, but his fingertips touched only emptiness, which snapped him fiercely back to reality.
Not knowing what he thought of, Lu Chenhan’s expression suddenly darkened, and then he turned around quickly, walking toward his own bedroom.
Half an hour later, after finishing breakfast, Lu Chenhan drove Song Chubai toward the company.
Right at the strike of nine o’clock, the two arrived at the company.
Lu Chenhan was always one hour early to the company. Arriving right on the dot today was already an extremely rare occurrence.
Coupled with the fact that Lu Chenhan went upstairs together with Song Chubai, and some people in the company had personally witnessed Song Chubai getting out of Lu Chenhan’s car, this inevitably made people overthink.
Combining these two events, it made quite a few people believe the rumor that had spread yesterday.
Their boss, he must have taken a fancy to Song Chubai!
In merely half a day, the news regarding Lu Chenhan taking a fancy to Song Chubai had spread throughout the entire company.
Some people started harboring small schemes, hoping to build a good relationship with Song Chubai so that they could leverage that connection to get a promotion.
As a result, after inquiring around through various channels, they simply could not find Song Chubai’s contact information.
Song Chubai used to be like an invisible person in his department; he had not added his department colleagues on WeChat, nor had he left any contact details. He was quite literally the ace of invisibility.
Without contact information, it meant they could not build a good relationship with Song Chubai, so their little schemes temporarily had no arena to be put to use.
Oblivious to the fact that he had dodged this minor interpersonal crisis, Song Chubai began playing eliminate-the-tiles again.
Even though Lu Chenhan said he was an assistant, he did not assign him any tasks, just having him play eliminate-the-tiles right beside him. Who knew what kind of weird fetish that was.
Finding the game a bit boring, Song Chubai could not help but look at Lu Chenhan.
Barely two seconds after looking, he saw Lu Chenhan suddenly turn his head and look at him.
“Like me that much?” Lu Chenhan curved his lips, a trace of hard-to-detect joy hidden between his brows.
Song Chubai fell silent for two seconds. How was he supposed to explain that he was genuinely just bored and casually looked up at him?
But if he explained, would it not contradict what he had said before? Would Lu Chenhan not start suspecting him of being a spy again if he did that?
Song Chubai pressed his lips together and softly responded with an “Mn.”
He had heard that spies had to go to prison, and he did not want to go to prison. So telling a tiny little lie or something should, probably, maybe, be fine?
Song Chubai let out a light sigh, once again feeling the difficulty of interacting with people.
He still had to face the risk of lying; it was truly too hard.
He raised his head slightly and glanced at Lu Chenhan. Seeing that the latter kept staring right at him, his heart skipped a beat.
Could Lu Chenhan have seen through his lie?
Right as that thought popped up, he heard Lu Chenhan say, “I allow you to look at me openly.”
Although peeking also gave him a strong sense of achievement, looking openly was not out of the question either.
“Oh,” Song Chubai obediently replied, then turned his head away and went back to playing his eliminate-the-tiles game.
Seeing that Song Chubai was no longer looking at him, Lu Chenhan nodded knowingly.
He was shy.
Tsk, still quite cute.
Lu Chenhan let out a low chuckle. His mood, which had been ruined by the nonsensical documents submitted by his subordinates, improved by a few notches.
He lowered his head, quickly drew a few circles, and after pointing out the mistakes above, he used the assistant internal line to call Assistant Wang over.
“Have them redo it,” Lu Chenhan tossed the file to Assistant Wang and said.
Assistant Wang quickly left, holding the file.
Outside the office, the marketing department manager was waiting with a nervous expression for Assistant Wang to come out.
They also knew that the proposal submitted today had a few issues, but time was tight and the task was heavy; they had worked overtime for several days to make it, yet the result was still less than ideal.
As soon as the proposal was submitted, the manager took the initiative to come up and prepare to bear the CEO’s wrath. The best outcome would be getting scolded for a bit; the worst outcome, well, it might be time for him to pack up and leave.
Carrying a nervous heart, the moment Assistant Wang came out, the manager went up to greet him.
“How is it? What did the CEO say?” he asked impatiently.
“The CEO wants you to go back and redo it,” Assistant Wang handed the file in his hand to the manager.
The manager looked at Assistant Wang in some shock. “Just like that?”
Assistant Wang nodded. “Go back and revise it quickly.”
The manager nodded in a daze, walked down the stairs in a daze, returned to his office, and flipped open the file. The CEO had actually circled all the places where mistakes were made!
They only needed to fix those specific spots.
“Oh heavens,” the manager could not help exclaiming, “Love really is exhilarating.”
The CEO’s mood today must be exceptionally great. Did you not see the circles he drew were practically floating in the air?
The manager secretly shared this news in the group chat, and very quickly, the news concerning Lu Chenhan and Song Chubai being together spread even further.
Within a few days, not only did people in the company know about this matter, even Grandma Lu, who was far away at the old family estate, caught wind of it.
Consequently, on this day, Lu Chenhan received a phone call from his grandmother.
He answered the call with his back turned to Song Chubai, his voice pressed very low so that it was somewhat hard to hear clearly.
Song Chubai pricked up his ears and barely managed to catch the word boyfriend.
He looked blankly at Lu Chenhan’s back. A boyfriend? Did Lu Chenhan have a boyfriend?
His heart felt a little strange. Song Chubai rubbed his chest, trying to massage away that bizarre sensation, feeling somewhat distracted.
Lu Chenhan, who had just hung up the phone, turned around and caught sight of Song Chubai looking at him with a dazed and adorable expression.
He raised an eyebrow, propped his phone vertically on the desk, leaned on one hand against it, and spoke up: “Why are you looking at me so absent-mindedly again?”
That obedient and adorable look, who was he trying to seduce?
“Tsk,” he gave a soft click of his tongue, his eyelashes trembling slightly as a dark glint flashed through his eyes.
Song Chubai snapped out of it. The strange feeling from just now had already vanished. He blinked, an obedient expression on his face as he spoke, “Do I need to step out for a bit?”
If his boyfriend was coming over or something, he probably would not need to play eliminate-the-tiles right beside them, right?
