The Manic-Depressive Overbearing CEO (14)

Lu Chenhan raised an eyebrow with a hint of surprise. “Avoid? Avoid what?”

For the past few days, he and he had been practically inseparable. What else was there to need avoiding?Full novel: Quick Transmigration: The Yandere CEO is Both Pampering and Seductive — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Or could it be that he was hiding something from him?

Lu Chenhan narrowed his eyes and asked with a touch of interrogation, “Are you hiding something from me?”

Song Chubai quickly shook his head. “No, no.”

What could he possibly be hiding from him?

Well, aside from the fact that he was a spy.

“Then what needs to be avoided?” Lu Chenhan pressed further.

Song Chubai blinked, looking a bit naive and adorable. “Aren’t you going to go see your boyfriend?”

“Huh?” Lu Chenhan laughed in exasperation. “What boyfriend?”

Pausing for a moment, he seemed to think of something as a dark glint flashed across his eyes.

“You eavesdropped on my phone call.”

Song Chubai quickly waved his hands, denying it. “I didn’t eavesdrop.”

After glancing at Lu Chenhan, he added in a soft voice, “I was clearly listening out in the open.”

Although his back was turned, there was only that short distance between them, so naturally, some of the sounds drifted into his ears.

Lu Chenhan gave a light click of his tongue, then sat down beside him and explained, “There is no boyfriend.”

It was just that Grandma had misunderstood that he had a boyfriend. He had no idea where such an absurd rumor had started, but it had actually reached the old lady’s ears.

If he ever found out who started it, heh.

Lu Chenhan let out a cold laugh, a dangerous gleam flashing in his eyes.

Upon hearing Lu Chenhan’s explanation, Song Chubai froze, an unusual surge of pleasant surprise stirring inexplicably deep within his heart.

He didn’t even know why he felt a tiny bit happy.

Very quickly, he felt ashamed of this little bit of happiness.

With someone as overbearing, tyrannical, and moody as Lu Chenhan, how difficult must it be to find a boyfriend?

So he shouldn’t be feeling happy.

Song Chubai told himself this in his heart, then reached out, patted Lu Chenhan’s shoulder, and said, “Don’t worry, President Lu, you will definitely get a boyfriend.”

Once he cured his illness, he should be able to find a boyfriend.

These words, when they reached Lu Chenhan’s ears, completely took on a different meaning.

Must definitely have a boyfriend plus He likes me equals He wants to be my boyfriend.

An equation like this formed in Lu Chenhan’s mind, causing the corners of his lips to curve upward while an intrigued light danced in his eyes. “Since that’s the case, then you’re coming back with me to see Grandma.”

Grandma had been insisting that he bring a boyfriend home. Since Song Chubai was so eager to act as his boyfriend, it wouldn’t hurt to bring him along.

He grabbed Song Chubai’s wrist, tapped his index finger gently against the center of it, and said meaningfully, “You had better put on a good performance once we get there.”

Lu Chenhan gave Song Chubai zero opportunity to refuse. That very evening, he took him back to the old family estate.

Knowing that Lu Chenhan was bringing his boyfriend home, Grandma Lu had specially prepared a large table of dishes to host him.

Upon laying eyes on Song Chubai, Grandma Lu found herself more and more satisfied with the child the more she looked at him.

“Child,” Grandma Lu took Song Chubai’s hand and patted it. “You’ve had it hard.”

She knew her grandson’s temperament well. Saying he was arrogant was putting it politely; his true nature was arrogant, self-opinionated, capricious, and mercurial. In short, he was no good person.

She had once worried that her grandson would end up lonely for the rest of his life. Therefore, from the very beginning, she had made up her mind: whether her grandson found a woman or a man, as long as it was someone he truly loved, she would support and approve of it.

Even if the person he loved might not be someone she herself would admire.

However, that concern vanished completely the moment she laid eyes on Song Chubai.

The young man before her had bright, clear eyes, and just by looking at him, he was clearly someone kind-hearted.

Grandma Lu looked at Song Chubai with a beaming, affectionate smile, practically having the words grandson-in-law written all over her face.

Seeing that Song Chubai had managed to win Grandma over so easily, Lu Chenhan raised an eyebrow in surprise.

“Grandma, let me introduce you.” Lu Chenhan walked over to Song Chubai’s side and grabbed his wrist. “This is Song Chubai.”

Grandma Lu smiled warmly and nodded. “That’s a good name, a very good name.”

Song Chubai scratched the back of his head and smiled with some embarrassment. “My parents picked a good one.”

Facing the old lady’s enthusiastic warmth, Song Chubai truly had no idea how to respond, so he could only smile and nod.

Grandma Lu pulled Song Chubai to sit at the dining table and warmly urged him to eat.

The small bowl in front of him had been piled almost as high as a small mountain, completely filled with food that Grandma Lu had dished out for him.

Song Chubai kept his head down and ate, not daring to lift it up for the entire duration. After all, whenever he looked up, he would be met with the mountain right before his eyes, and he simply couldn’t handle it.

Sitting right beside him, Lu Chenhan wore a lingering smile at the corner of his lips, his gaze never once leaving Song Chubai.

Song Chubai had a way of eating that made others very appetizing to watch. Lu Chenhan thought that if he ever started a food-streaming broadcast, he would definitely get a lot of viewers.

A golden-fried prawn was guided into his mouth, its pinkish flesh faintly visible as his cheeks puffed up while he chewed. That fair little face of his seemed to have taken on a soft, rosy flush as well.

His slender eyelashes fluttered continuously, casting an endearing, heart-palpitating sense of fragility under the lighting.

Without any suspense, Lu Chenhan grew hungry.

His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, and a dark glint flashed deep within his eyes.

He picked up his chopsticks, picked out a golden prawn, and placed it into Song Chubai’s bowl. “Eat more.”

He liked the way Song Chubai ate; it gave him a great appetite.

As for whether this appetite was directed solely at the table full of food or at Song Chubai himself, perhaps even Lu Chenhan didn’t know.

Song Chubai glanced sideways at Lu Chenhan and quietly let out a single word, “Oh.”

Grandma Lu watched the interaction between the two with a beaming smile, feeling even more fond of Song Chubai in her heart.

She had no idea where her grandson had found such incredible luck to have landed such a wonderful boyfriend.

By the end of dinner, Song Chubai was so full that he couldn’t even walk anymore.

He half-reclined on the sofa, resting his little hand uncomfortably against his belly.

The moment Lu Chenhan saw him like this, he knew right away that he had overeaten again.

He walked over, sat down beside him, and naturally stretched out a large hand to rest right on top of his stomach, gently massaging it in circles.

“Tsk,” he clicked his tongue lightly. “Stuffed yourself again, didn’t you?”

Song Chubai wrinkled his small face. He hadn’t actually wanted to overeat, but Grandma Lu had been far too enthusiastic. Unable to handle the old lady’s warmth, he had ended up eating every single dish she had placed in his bowl.

One bite after another, and before he knew it, he was unbearably full.

“Mm,” Song Chubai let out a low, soft moan, the corners of his eyes appearing to be tinged with a sheen of moisture. “I’m never eating this much again.”

The feeling of being overstuffed was simply too agonizing.

Lu Chenhan’s eyes flicked slightly. This time, remarkably, he didn’t refute Song Chubai’s words, merely letting out a low response of “Mm.”

He lowered his gaze, staring at Song Chubai’s slightly rounded belly, and his throat worked as he swallowed.
