(Third Person POV)

Yvan widened his eyes, "S-Shuush!"

He crouched down, holding the iron rod in his hand, his face going even paler. He slowly stepped forwards, as if feeling something around him.Full novel: RE: The Gunslinger’s MILF Harem — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The Maid looked at him, "M-Master Yvan...." She whispered, "Please....c-come this way."

"Yvan, don't move." Samuel warned, feeling a strange sensation, "Go get him."

He told the Maid the last part, urging her with his tone. The Maid gulped, about to take a step when they heard a deep growl, the bone-chilling sound filling the air.

The chandelier rattled slightly, as a louder snort was heard. Samuel narrowed his eyes, focusing his attention onto that spot. He knew one thing; something dangerous was up there, and it was not happy.

"Get him. Now." Samuel repeated himself, "Now, I said."

The Maid was trembling in fear, "N-No, I must not move...." She whispered, her tone was shaky, "I....I will die."

Yvan was also going pale, "It's here.....the ripper of hearts....t-the.....wind of dusk...." He said, "Blood....blood everywhere....."

Samuel glanced at him, "Yvan." He said, "Move away. Now-"

"Shuuushhh!!!!" Yvan cut him off, throwing the iron rod at him, "You'll get us all killed!!"

Samuel moved his head, avoiding the iron rod. The rod hit the wall next to Samuel, bouncing off the stone and clattering onto the floor. The sound of the iron clattering resounded throughout the air.

"GRRRRRR...!!!!" a vicious growl was heard

Samuel heard the rattling of the chandelier and he looked up, "Hm...."

He then saw a figure become visible. It was large, around the size of an average person. It had black leathery skin with a bat-like head; its large fangs were jutting out, dripping with a strange liquid. Samuel saw it clutching the chandelier with what looked like massive, bat-like wings.

He tilted his head, "A Bat?" He said, "That thing is big...."

It's big and round eyes were dark purple in color, a trait that Samuel recognized immediately.

"Ravager Bat?" He asked, "No, they're way smaller.....and....this one...."

The creature opened its mouth, releasing a bone-chilling hiss. Samuel noticed a black shadowy aura emitting from it skin, the air getting colder as this happened.

"Hm....." He said

"The devil.....blood...." Yvan said, "It falls before us....the moon-"

"Woman, get him the fuck out of here now!" Samuel said

The Maid snapped out of the shock she felt when seeing the creature, "I...."

The creature let out a loud shriek, shaking the air almost immediately. This caused both Yvan and the Maid to cover their ears, flinching violently.

"Ahhh!" Yvan shouted out, "Ahhh!!"

"Master Yvan!" the Maid said

The creature then jumped from the chandelier, shooting straight at Yvan. In an instant, Samuel drew his revolver and fired a single shot at its neck, hitting it dead on. The creature recoiled towards the wall, its wing sprouting claws and dragging along the walls. It let out a pained shriek as it stumbled to the side, crashing against the tables.

Samuel saw that there was no blood or an open wound; the bullet didn't wound it, the impact only stung it.

"This certain caliber won't work." He said, holding his grey revolver in his hand, "Tch....I don't like using high-caliber rounds indoors...."

Yvan was shouting in a panic, "Ahhhh!!!"

Samuel scowled, "How many fucking times do I have to tell you!!" He shouted at the Maid, "This ain't no time to hesitate, get him out of here! NOW!"

The Maid nodded, immediately rushing for Yvan. She grabbed him and pulled him along to the stairs that led to the lower level. Yvan kept shouting, covering his ears, his eyes widened in a panic.

"Master Yvan, let us go!" the Maid said

The creature then straightened up, rubbing its neck and glaring right at Samuel. It let out a hiss as it hunched over, its mouth dripping with drool.

"Alright...." Samuel said, "What are you? You're not an ordinary Ravager Bat...something I haven't come across?"

The Bat Creature jumped into the air, flapping its wings hard and releasing a wind pressure that hit Samuel. Stumbling back a bit, Samuel then braced himself as the Bat Creature shot straight right at him with a chilling shriek.

As it reached Samuel, it flipped in midair and kicked at him. Samuel dodged the kick and saw the sharp talons it had.

"That's not good...." Samuel said, firing three more shots at it

The bullets hit the Bat Creature, bouncing off its leathery hide, but still causing it to stumble. It let out a pained grunt, it then shook its head violently as it hissed.

It then got on all fours and lunged at Samuel, its eyes glowing brightly as it was shrouded in a shadowy aura.

Samuel aimed his revolver at him but the Bat Creature swiped its wings at it, the claws striking the revolver. Upon impact, Samuel felt a spark of magic power and he watched as the revolver shattered completely.

"What the...." He said as he stepped to the side, surprised by this action, "This thing...."

The Bat Creature let out a loud shriek, causing Samuel to wince as he made distance, still standing between the creature and the stairs.

"Okay...." Samuel said as he reached for his satchel, blue runs glowing on the leather, "Well, you're surprisingly fast and strong. This is not an ideal place to fight such a creature like you, but I am a Hunter. I adapt."

Samuel pulled out three small orbs that were the size of lemons. He kept his eyes on the creature, which was getting back on all fours, hissing loudly.

"Never seen anything like you." Samuel said, "But you're emitting Cursed Magic Power. Something tells me you're a result of some for of Curse. But what kind of Curse?"

The Bat Creature lunged at Samuel once again, but before it could reach him, Samuel threw one of the orbs at its face. Upon contact, the orb shattered and released a silver cloud of dust. The dust caused the creature to jerk backwards and let out a pained hiss, its skin burning as Samuel stepped to the side.

"Okay.....definitely a Ravager Bat." He said, "This is Sildust, and Ravager Bats are violently allergic to it, among other beasts. Mostly because of the magical mutation that creates Ravagers. So that brings up another question; what kind of mutation made you?"

The Bat Creature shook its neck, glaring right at Samuel, who still had the other orbs. It then flapped its wings, releasing another wave of wind pressure. It spun in the air and shot right at Samuel, who threw the other two orbs at it, hitting it hard. The orbs shattered and the silver dust filled the area, causing the Bat Creature to thrash violently in the air, letting out a pained shriek.

Samuel reached for his satchel, pulling out a scroll. Without wasting time, he opened the scroll and placed it on the ground, having crouched down. On the scroll, there was a drawn magic circle. Samuel pressed his finger on the center of the circle and turned it, like a key.

The circle glowed brightly and it began to pulsate. Samuel then slid the extended scroll forwards where the Bat was slowly falling towards. As the Bat was about to hit the floor, the magic circle expanded outwards, glowing brightly.

The Bat hit the floor, causing the magic circle to release a light. It let out another shriek as it straightened up, attempting to cross the light causing it physical pain.

"A binding circle." Samuel said as he straightened up, "Temporary, but useful for traps."

He then extended his hand and a magic circle appeared in the air next to his palm.

"Old Faithful"

Then, a large revolver appeared from the magic circle, which Samuel held in his hand. The barrel was long and slender, forged from dark blued steel that seemed almost black. Beneath it rested a metal loading lever, while behind the barrel sat a six-chambered cylinder engraved with intricate patterns that looked almost like a tiny scene carved into the steel.

The frame was dark steel, contrasted by a polished brass trigger guard that caught the light like gold. Its grip was made from deep brown walnut, smooth and curved, shaped perfectly for a human hand.

It resembled a model of revolver that Samuel remembered vividly from his old world.

"Colt Army Model 1860....." He thought

He then looked at the creature, "Alright." He said, "Enough fucking around."

"Let's do this."
