Jian An steadied Wen Qi by the waist, savoring the sweetness of the water.

So this is what I was drinking in my previous life…

“Aiyo, little Wen Qi, your space is amazing!” Liao Liao teased, looking at Jian An.Full novel: Rebirth in the Apocalypse: The Little Vixen Wants Hugs and Kisses — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“It’s got everything in it!”

“Can we eat it? Can we eat it?” She was so eager she was practically drooling.I really want to eat it…

“But wait—without hot water, we can’t even soak this…”

“You humans are so troublesome when it comes to food.”

Wen Qi took out a carrot and bit into it fiercely.

Jian An caught a word Wen Qi used, and his gaze darkened slightly.

Humans…? What else is there that I don’t know?

“Alright, we’ll take turns keeping watch tonight.” Jian An glanced at the dark night outside the window. Better not let anything come courting death.

In the darkness, the little rabbit suddenly opened her eyes. She quietly glanced at Ji Chen, who was on watch outside, then at Jian An sleeping on the floor.

Wrapping herself in the blanket, she stealthily scooted closer to Jian An bit by bit.

Hehe, fragrant one, here I come~

Wen Qi burrowed into Jian An’s arms, surrounded by his scent. She narrowed her eyes in bliss.

Just then—

A hand reached out and gently pushed her away.

“Wen Qi, let go.”

It was too close. Even in his previous life, they had never been this close.

“Mmm, no, no… just a little longer…”

Her arms tightened around him. Surrounded by his scent, she felt almost intoxicated and didn’t want to let go at all.

Jian An felt a tingling numbness wherever she touched him. Her embrace was tight, and he could smell the fresh, grassy scent on her—it was clean and soothing.

Unconsciously, he relaxed.

“Don’t hug so tightly…” Jian An’s face flushed slightly.

“No, no. If I like it, I like it.” Wen Qi burrowed deeper into his arms, pressing her head against his neck. It’s strongest here…

The little rabbit was getting dizzy from the scent.

Now Jian An’s face and neck were completely red, even the corners of his eyes tinged with color. His whole body felt hot, his throat bobbing as he swallowed, gripping the blanket tightly.

So she liked me that early on…

Wen Qi murmured unconsciously, “Ah… so comfy…”

Jian An glanced at Ji Chen, who was on watch. “Go to sleep.”

The person beside him soon breathed evenly.

Carefully, Jian An pulled Wen Qi closer into his arms.

Found you. This time, I won’t push you away again.

“Bro Jian, are you about to bloom?” Ji Chen teased.

As an ability user, his senses were heightened, especially at night. He had already noticed Wen Qi getting up earlier—he just hadn’t expected her to sneak into Jian An’s arms.

“You go sleep. I’ll take over the watch.”

As the surroundings quieted, Jian An looked at Wen Qi, curled up in sleep, something flickering in his eyes—yet also nothing at all.

In the middle of the night, Jian An sensed something off.

“Get up. I have a bad feeling.”

Ji Chen and Liao Liao, both light sleepers, immediately got up and packed.

Wen Qi, however, was still asleep—there was no time.

Jian An tossed his backpack to Liao Liao, scooped Wen Qi into his arms, and headed downstairs where the car was parked.

Suddenly, countless thick, barbed vines burst out from beneath the ground.

Jian An reacted instantly, releasing lightning. The vines were charred—but quickly grew back.

“Move!” Liao Liao swung an iron pipe, blocking the vines from spreading further at the doorway.

“So noisy…” Wen Qi slowly opened her eyes. Realizing she was in her “fragrant one’s” arms, her eyes lit up. She wrapped her arms around Jian An’s neck and rubbed her cheek against his.

“Good girl, go hide for now,” Jian An said as he set her down.

“Don’t be afraid. We’ll safely get you to the car.”

Hearing “hide,” Wen Qi got annoyed, hands on her hips.

“I’m very strong. I don’t need to hide!”

She turned toward the wildly thrashing vines.

This ugly thing woke me up—and kept me from hugging enough!

She directly took out her massive scythe.

Jian An: “!!!!”Ji Chen: “!!!!”Liao Liao: “!!!!”

In Wen Qi’s hands was a silver scythe glowing faintly white. The blade emitted a dark aura, its head engraved with mysterious runes that flickered with golden light. The handle was made of solid black diamond, heavy—yet she wielded it effortlessly.

The vines shrank back slightly, as if sensing danger.

Wen Qi swung the scythe—what had been tough vines were now brittle under her blade.

“Holy—she’s actually a boss-level player!” Jian An unleashed a wide-range lightning attack to prevent regrowth.

One cut, one strike—they worked in perfect sync.

Suddenly, the vines struggled more violently.

All the attacking vines turned toward Wen Qi.

She was approaching its core crystal.

Liao Liao hacked at regenerating vines and shouted, “Little Wen Qi, take the crystal! It won’t grow back after that!”

“Which one? The glowing spot?” Wen Qi pointed.

She didn’t know what a crystal core was—but that place had the strongest energy.

“That should be it. Just hack at it!” Jian An said. Though unsure, the vines’ desperate protection made it obvious.

Wen Qi locked onto the glowing spot. Her speed surged as she swung her scythe. The vines tried desperately to stop her—but this time, they couldn’t even touch her clothes.

“I was just playing with you earlier.”

With one clean strike, she split the glowing core in half.

Jian An quickly grabbed the crystal to prevent regrowth.

“Little Wen Qi, you’re a speed-type too?! That was insane—you cut it down in a flash!” Liao Liao mimicked her move.

“Of course. I’m very strong.” Wen Qi lifted her chin proudly. Rabbits excel at speed!

Jian An handed her the crystal.

“You took it down. Keep it.”

“I don’t want it. It’s dirty.”

“I’ll wash it for you.”

“No. It won’t get clean.” In Wen Qi’s eyes, the crystal was full of impurities, with only a tiny clean part—not worth her interest.

These so-called crystal cores existed in all contaminated beings—zombies had them in their brains, plants varied. No one knew their use yet, but higher-ups said they’d be important in the future, so people kept them.

“Little Wen Qi, you didn’t answer me—are you a speed-type ability user too?”

“I don’t know what that is.” She looked confused. Speed is speed—why call it an ability? Humans are so complicated.

“Alright. Don’t tell others about your space,” Jian An said seriously. It didn’t fit this world—but then again, the apocalypse had already come. Still, it was too valuable.

“Mm-hmm! I’ll listen to whatever you say.” My benefactor’s words must be obeyed—then I can bask in more of his ‘Buddha light’ later~

Jian An’s ears turned red. She’s really obedient…

“I’ll explain ability users. After the apocalypse, people changed. Some became zombies, some gained abilities, and some remained ordinary. Most abilities are metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—but there are mutations, like mine—lightning, Ji Chen’s ice, and Liao Liao’s physical enhancement.”

“Are space and speed mutated abilities too?”

“Yes. They’re rare—so you need to be careful.”

“Wen Qi, do you have a car in your space?” Liao Liao asked eagerly.

“What’s a car?”

“It’s—like those on the road!” Liao Liao dragged her to the window and pointed at a wrecked white car.

“Ohhh, that’s a car!” Wen Qi suddenly understood and started rummaging through her space.

“Found it!”

She pulled out a car from a black void—carrying it on her shoulder.

Ji Chen: “!!!!”Liao Liao: “What the hell?!!”

“Wen Qi, you’re even stronger than my enhancement ability!” Liao Liao looked at her tiny limbs, then at his own—feeling deeply insulted.
