The stern-faced man remained silent.

His neatly combed hair and calm expression stood in sharp contrast to the crew-cut man’s lazy, carefree demeanor.

Despite having just escaped a desperate battle, both of them were impeccably dressed. Their clothes were spotless, with barely a speck of dust on them.Full novel: Reborn Apocalyptic Boss with a Space — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was obvious that neither of them was ordinary.

The crew-cut man smiled brightly at Feng Moxi.

“Little sister, where exactly is this place?”

Neither of the two men looked particularly old, yet both carried an unmistakable aura that made them difficult to underestimate.

Feng Moxi returned a faint smile.

The smile never reached her eyes. It was cold, distant, and polite.

“I don’t know.”

At that moment, He Ping’s convoy finally arrived.

Wan Yong was the first to jump off his vehicle. Pointing at the group of troublemakers, he roared at the top of his lungs.

“Don’t you know monsters are far more active at night? You made such a huge commotion! Were you trying to get us all killed?”

Feng Moxi silently watched the newcomers.

She didn’t believe for a second that they were ignorant of such basic survival knowledge.

“We knew.”

The crew-cut man grinned as if it were no big deal.

“That’s what made it fun. Who would’ve thought Xiao Lizi would get distracted while driving and accidentally hit the curb?”

As he spoke, he turned toward Feng Moxi and even winked at her with his charming peach blossom eyes, looking every bit like an infuriating troublemaker.

That was the last straw for Luo Yunxi.

She had been furious ever since they had been awakened from their sleep and dragged into danger because of these people.

Without another word, she raised her iron rod and swung it directly at the smiling man’s face.

She showed absolutely no mercy.

The crew-cut man dodged effortlessly before countering with a palm strike that landed squarely on Luo Yunxi’s shoulder.

She cried out in pain and stumbled backward several steps.

Feng Moxi’s eyes narrowed.

Her own iron rod followed immediately after, carrying enough force to whistle through the air as it smashed toward the man’s face.

It was an incredibly fierce attack.

“Whoa!”

The man yelped theatrically.

He sidestepped at remarkable speed before throwing a powerful punch back at her.

At the same instant, sharp earthen spikes burst from the ground beneath Feng Moxi’s feet.

Had she reacted even a moment slower, the spikes would have pierced straight through her soles.

Clearly…

The man had no intention of holding back.

Although Feng Moxi’s body had yet to completely adapt after her rebirth, several days of cultivation had already transformed her physique.

Combined with her nimble movements and astonishing speed…

The battle quickly reached a stalemate.

Standing nearby, Luo Yunxi grew increasingly anxious.

She knew Feng Moxi was strong.

Even so, she couldn’t help worrying.

The two combatants moved so quickly that their strikes generated audible gusts of wind.

There wasn’t even an opportunity for her to interfere.

Even the silent, stern-faced man finally fixed his full attention on the fight.

After more than a dozen exchanges, the crew-cut man’s expression gradually became strange.

At first, he had fought with obvious amusement and contempt.

Now…

Every trace of that attitude had disappeared.

He had trained rigorously since childhood.

Against ordinary opponents, he could usually defeat them without effort.

After awakening his earth-element ability, his combat strength had only grown even greater.

Yet the young woman before him looked slender and not even fully grown.

How could she possess such tremendous strength and such sharp, efficient techniques?

If he weren’t fighting seriously…

He might actually lose.

The four men who had clung to Wan Yong’s vehicle during the escape all wore identical black combat uniforms.

They were broad-shouldered and muscular, looking very much like professional bodyguards.

The moment they saw the fight, they prepared to step forward.

However, the stern-faced man stopped them with nothing more than a glance.

Meanwhile, one of the young men from He Ping’s group finally exploded in anger.

Pointing at the newcomers, he cursed loudly.

“What the hell are you people? Looking to die? You nearly got us all killed! I’ll…”

Before he could finish…

The cold muzzle of a pistol was pressed firmly against his temple.

The young man instantly fell silent.

Wan Yong and the others had been just as furious.

They had barely escaped through the darkness.

Most of the supplies they collected during the day had been abandoned.

They had almost ended up trapped inside the monster horde.

But after watching Feng Moxi’s fight…

Their anger slowly faded.

Especially after noticing that each of the newcomers carried a handgun.

No one dared say another word.

“Hey, hey…”

The crew-cut man continued retreating while exchanging blows with Feng Moxi.

Although that infuriating smile still hung on his face, his eyes had become noticeably more serious.

“Little sister, let’s talk this out. I was wrong. Alright? I admit it.”

Feng Moxi had never intended to fight to the death.

But in the apocalypse…

The weak only had one fate.

Death.

She knew these men were powerful.

Still, if she failed to demonstrate her own strength, they would continue looking down on her.

Seeing the man’s attitude soften, she decided not to press the matter further.

With a feint, the golden energy surrounding her weapon quietly disappeared.

The crew-cut man also withdrew his power and let out a light breath.

“Are all young ladies this terrifying nowadays?”

Even Feng Moxi found the battle exhausting.

This man was clearly far more dangerous than he appeared.

But…

That had nothing to do with her.

She glanced at him coldly.

“I’m nowhere near your level. I’m just a little faster.”

The short-haired man wagged his index finger and shook his head.

“No.”

He smiled.

“I have to admit, I’m impressed.”

Seeing that such a young girl could fight him to a standstill while remaining perfectly calm afterward only made him more curious.

With another grin, he introduced himself.

“My name’s Chaoyang, and this is my older brother, Sima Yue. What’s your name, little sister?”

Chaoyang.

Sima Yue.

Feng Moxi carefully searched her memories.

Neither name had appeared among the Top Ten Experts nor even within the list of the Hundred Strongest in her previous life.

Then she silently snorted to herself.

With personalities this arrogant and reckless…

They probably wouldn’t survive for many more days anyway.

“Feng Moxi.”

After saying her name, she turned around, pushed open the gate of the residence, and walked inside.

Luo Yunxi immediately followed.

The moment they entered the hall, Feng Moxi detected numerous faint breathing sounds.

Following them, she looked toward a corner.

The four girls who had run away earlier…

No.

Only three remained.

All of them looked utterly miserable.

The floor was covered with debris.

Scattered everywhere were mangled human limbs, along with the rotting corpses of monsters they had killed long ago.

No one had bothered cleaning any of it.

The foul stench permeating the hall was enough to make anyone nauseous.

The entire place felt even more sinister than before.

Chaoyang covered his nose in disgust and looked at Feng Moxi.

“Little sister, your choice of lodging leaves a lot to be desired.”

“…”

“…”

The three girls were dressed in tattered clothes, their faces pale and exhausted.

The moment they saw people enter, terror filled their expressions.

Then they recognized two familiar faces among the newcomers.

With a loud wail, all three burst into tears and rushed toward Luo Yunxi.

Both Feng Moxi and Luo Yunxi calmly stepped aside, avoiding them.

Luo Yunxi looked at them in surprise.

“Weren’t you the ones who ran away? Why did you come back?”

“Waaah…”

The girls cried even harder.

Feng Moxi was already growing impatient.

She turned to leave.

But then she noticed Chaoyang.

Still covering his nose, he casually walked around everyone in the room and headed straight for a chair in the middle of the hall.

He completely ignored both the crowd…

And the corpses strewn across the floor.

Whether he intended to watch the spectacle unfold…

Or had something else in mind…

She couldn’t tell.
