Before the call could even connect, the parents of the boy whose ribs had been shattered had already stormed over.

“Who hurt my son? Get out here!”

The moment the parents entered the office, they found only two children inside.

There wasn’t a single sign of the older sister who was supposedly their guardian.

Their anger flared even higher.

“You think hiding will solve anything? My older brother is the captain of the Guard Squad! My son is supposed to join the Guard Squad in the future too! After being injured by you, his future is bound to be delayed!”

Cen Wu lazily picked at her ear with her little finger.

“Older Brother, is your butt still sticky?”

Although he had tied his shirt around his waist, the back of his pants was still missing, leaving his backside rather breezy.

Cen Yuxing shook his head.

“Not anymore.”

After thinking for a moment, Cen Wu said, “But your pants still need to be compensated. They’ll probably check the surveillance footage to see who put glue on your chair.”

The boy’s parent had been ranting nonstop.

When he saw the two children happily chatting among themselves as though he didn’t exist, his face darkened.

“Did either of you hear a single word I said?”

Cen Wu looked up, confusion written across her palm-sized face.

“We have ears.”

“…”

The parent was on the verge of losing his mind.

“Principal! I entrusted my son to this academy because I believed in you! How could you let outsiders bully him like this?”

The principal was sweating profusely himself.

The relative of a Guard Squad captain was someone he couldn’t afford to offend.

The fortress bases were guarded and patrolled by the Guard Squad.

A captain held genuine authority.

Forcing a smile, he said, “These two children refuse to obey discipline. I called their guardian, but their father even hung up on me. You can tell their whole family has no manners.”

Cen Wu’s little face turned cold.

“Who are you saying has no manners?”

The parent looked at her as though she were some strange curiosity.

“I’m talking about your family. What about it? You think hiding will make this whole matter disappear? Dream on!”

He was determined to call his older brother over.

He wanted these commoners to experience exactly what happened when they offended his family.

Cen Wu had never expected that, after going around in circles, she had once again been dragged into this ridiculous mess because of Lu You.

She had thought she was already used to it.

But of all things…

They should never have insulted her family.

“Principal, why didn’t you mention that Lu You was the one who started bullying my older brother and me? If it weren’t for her, that boy never would have gotten into a conflict with us.”

The principal kept a stern face, looking every bit the calculating man.

“Lu You is Deputy Director Lu’s daughter. What bad intentions could she possibly have?”

Cen Wu: “…”

Dear heavens…

Just what kind of mind-numbing charm did Lu You possess?

She truly couldn’t understand it.

Looking at the principal’s expression, so determined to protect Lu You, Cen Wu genuinely wanted to punch him into the afterlife.

“Don’t change the subject!”

The boy’s parent pointed accusingly at her.

“You were the one who injured my son. Several of his ribs were broken! If Deputy Director Lu hadn’t sent someone over with precious Regeneration Factor, do you know how much suffering my son would have endured?”

“Instead of thanking her, you’re standing here acting so aggressively. How can a child like you be so vicious?”

The parent glared at her contemptuously and reached out to grab her hair.

Cen Yuxing reacted immediately, stepping between them.

“Don’t touch my Younger Sister!”

“Tch.”

The man sneered.

“I can’t be bothered arguing with children. Hurry up and call your guardian over.”

The principal immediately backed him up.

“If today’s matter isn’t resolved, don’t even think about coming back to the academy tomorrow.”

Cen Yuxing pointed at the principal’s communicator.

“I already gave you my Big Sister’s number.”

The parent refused to let it go.

“What kind of guardian is an older sister? Are your parents both dead or something?”

Cen Wu kicked the back of the man’s knee with all her strength.

The powerful blow sent him crashing onto his knees.

“Watch your mouth!”

Although the man himself wasn’t an Ability User…

The principal was.

He shouted angrily until his voice cracked.

“Principal! Are you really going to stand there and watch her bully me?”

The principal hurriedly dialed the communicator.

At the same time, he pointed one hand toward Cen Wu and made a twisting motion.

The little girl was instantly suspended in midair.

It was a Buoyancy Ability.

No matter how much Cen Wu struggled, she couldn’t descend.

Cen Yuxing grew anxious.

Standing on tiptoe, he grabbed his younger sister’s ankle and pulled downward.

“Don’t be scared! I’ll pull you down!”

The boy’s parent rushed over and forcibly separated the two siblings.

He smirked triumphantly.

“Your younger sister did something wrong. She deserves to be punished!”

“You picked the wrong person to mess with!”

Beep—

The principal’s communicator connected almost immediately.

Before he could speak, a cold, familiar voice came from the other end.

“What is it?”

Every prepared word became lodged back in the principal’s throat.

In disbelief, he slowly lowered the communicator from his ear and looked at the caller ID.

[Base Chief]

Cold sweat instantly drenched his back.

N-No…

Could I have dialed the wrong number?

The principal hurried outside the office, bowing repeatedly toward the communicator as though the other person could see him.

“Base Chief, I dialed the wrong number. I’m terribly sorry.”

Click.

After wiping the sweat from his forehead, the principal called Cen Yuxing outside.

The child looked reluctant, making the principal ask sternly,

“What kind of broken number did you give me? Read it again.”

Worried about his younger sister, Cen Yuxing simply repeated the number.

This time, the principal listened carefully.

Every single digit matched.

He dialed again.

The words [Base Chief] immediately appeared on the screen once more.

His vision nearly went black.

“You—”

“Principal.”

The icy voice from the communicator interrupted him.

“You’d better have a good reason.”

Just hearing those words made his entire body shiver.

Could an Ice Ability affect people even through a communicator?

The principal slapped his own forehead before asking cautiously,

“Base Chief… do you know Cen Wu and Cen Yuxing?”

“Get to the point.”

The tone remained as cold and businesslike as ever.

The principal was completely at a loss.

He didn’t dare report to the Base Chief that her younger brother and younger sister had caused trouble at the academy.

Based on everything he knew about the Base Chief…

Cen Wu and Cen Yuxing might indeed receive punishment.

But his own position as principal would certainly be gone.

He had failed to supervise and guide the students.

Instead, he had allowed them to form cliques and bully others.

If the Base Chief found out…

She would strip him of his position without hesitation.

He probably wouldn’t even remain qualified to teach.

Taking a deep breath, the principal said,

“They’ve both been excellent students at school. It turns out you’ve taught them very well. I…”

The call was disconnected.

Before the principal could even sigh in relief, he suddenly remembered that Cen Wu was still floating in midair.

He immediately rushed back into the office.

The moment he entered, he saw the boy’s parent yanking Cen Wu’s hair in retaliation.

The principal roared loudly enough to shake the room.

“What are you doing? Let go of her immediately!”

At once, he activated his Ability and gently lowered Cen Wu back to the ground.

Looking at the Cen siblings, he finally realized…

Their surname Cen was the same Cen as Cen Jiao.

He had truly been blinded.

He had actually offended people from Base No. 18 for the sake of someone from Base No. 9.

In an instant, the image of himself being expelled from the base flashed through his mind.

The thought made him shudder.

Forcing out a smile, he said,

“This matter doesn’t concern you anymore. Hurry back to your classroom.”

The boy’s parent couldn’t believe what he had just heard.

He immediately started yelling again.

“You’re just letting them leave like that? Believe it or not, I’ll call my older brother over right now!”
