Her kiss was rough and unpleasant on his lips. Merlin pushed her away, wiping his mouth from the non-consensual kiss.
"What the hell?" Merlin said, disgusted.
"Why didn’t my lust work on you?" the strange woman asked, shocked by the mental strength this man possessed.
"Because such a thing as lust would never work on my kind," Merlin said.
The woman slowly walked backwards, trying to find a way to escape from this strange man who claimed to have no lust. She turned around and started sprinting, but her legs were suddenly in the air, failing to touch the ground. "What is this?" she asked, confused.
Laila was holding her in the air using her telekinetic ability. She slowly brought her to the ground before punching her right in the face, and she fell into a pile of trash.
"Who are you? And why did those guys try to take you?" Laila asked as she pulled the woman by her hair. Merlin just watched her, surprised at seeing this side of Laila.
"Ouch. I’m sorry. My name is Julia and I work for the local syndicate," the woman said. "I’m only used as bait to lure people into the alley so that we can sell them."
Merlin’s face changed suddenly, and the anger inside him started leaking out in the form of his Uzu energy. He grabbed the woman by the neck and pinned her to the wall. "So you sell innocent people into slavery? What kind of monster are you?" Merlin asked, his face disgusted by the sight of this woman.
"I have to make money somehow," the woman said, and that only made Merlin even more angry. He tightened his grip on her neck and he was about to snap her neck before Laila stopped him.
"Merlin!" Laila shouted, and that snapped Merlin back to reality.
"I’m sorry," Merlin said with a shameful look. He loosened his grip on the woman and she fell to the ground, gasping for air.
"So where do you guys take the people you kidnap?" Laila asked.
"W-we take them to the lord’s manor," the woman said, shaking with fear.
"Take us there, now!" Laila commanded.
A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL
The manor the woman led them to had lights all around. Even at night everything could be seen, and guards surrounded every inch of that place.
"How are we supposed to get inwithout being spotted?" Laila whispered to Merlin. Merlin thought for a moment before he pulled out his magic staff.
"Hold on to me," Merlin said. Laila looked at him curiously but held on to him anyway.
"If you wanted a hug, Merlin, you could have just asked," Laila teased. Merlin just smiled and started casting a spell.
"HSINAV," Merlin chanted. His staff glowed a purple light and they suddenly disappeared from sight, shocking the woman that brought them here.
"Hello?" the woman said. She tried to get away before someone grabbed her hand, but when she looked behind, no one was there.
"Don’t try running," Laila said, but the woman still couldn’t see her. Only her voice could be heard.
"We can’t leave her, she will escape," the invisible Laila said to Merlin.
"Fine, just knock her out," Merlin said.
The woman tried to run before a punch landed on her face, and she fell to the ground.
"Let’s go, we can come pick her up when we are done with the bastards in there," Merlin said. His demeanor became cold from the moment the woman mentioned slavery.
"Why did you act the way you did in the alley?" Laila asked. She had spent enough time to know that Merlin wouldn’t kill someone in cold blood.
"I have seen so many people suffer because some bastards thought it would be a good idea to sell them into slavery. The amount of children that have been abused because of bastards like these sickens me," Merlin said.
Laila didn’t have any words to say. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and sheltered from the horrors of this world, so she never learned anything about how the real world operated.
They walked around the manor, knocking out as many guards as they could along the way, and none of them could even see them.
They stepped into the mansion, and they could immediately tell what kind of person lived in such a place. The entire interior of the mansion was covered in gold, and young girls stood in the corners, dressed in little to no clothing, and each one of them was chained to the wall.
They were being exhibited like some kind of product. Nobles in suits walked around the mansion, checking out these young girls.
"And how much is this one?" a middle-aged man said.
"It’s an auction, Lord Leon. You will just have to put the highest number you are willing to pay for her, and if you win then she will be yours," a man in a suit said.
Laila noticed Merlin’s rage leaking out again. The bloodlust she felt coming from him made even her scared. But she knew there was no stopping him this time.
"This one is scrawny, isn’t she? She would make a fine pet," another man said. The woman next to him just nodded in agreement. "I will place 100 gold coins for he-"
The man’s entire abdomen was gone, and a huge hole took its place.
Cries erupted inside the mansion. They all started running for the doors, but Merlin wasn’t going to let them get away that easily. He shut the door and summoned the chaos sword in his hand.
He sliced one of the men’s head in half and blasted the woman next to him.
One by one they fell. Merlin shot spell after spell at them, killing every last one of the nobles, and the last thing they saw was a man with glowing green eyes.
The cries were slowly dying down as the last person finally died. Laila started freeing the girls chained up in the mansion.
She looked at Merlin, who had a look of pain in his eyes. He sat down on the floor and wept. What she witnessed today was a massacre, but she did not blame Merlin for anything.
"We should get moving before the kingdom’s knights arrive," Laila said to Merlin.
"Alright, hon," he said and got up.
The air in the manor slowly changed, and before they could even get out of the mansion, a bright light came crashing down from above, leaving a huge hole above the mansion.
Three people in silver armor stood in front of them, and they were powerful. They walked to Merlin and said, "We are the holy knights, and we were sent here by the great god, Holelius."
