Silver armor, swords strapped to their waists, and magical energy so vast that they could destroy entire kingdoms with a single swing. Those were the kind of enemies standing in front of them.

"What do you want? I’m not in a mood to deal with your kind today," Merlin said. His eyes were cold and no emotion could be seen in them.

His Uzu energy was still filled with bloodlust and the holy knights could tell. They looked around and saw the bodies of dead nobles all around the mansion.Full novel: REBORN AS HEIR TO THE TYRANT KING — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Did you kill these people?" one of the knights asked. He bore no malice towards Merlin, but the anger in his eyes could be seen.

"I killed roaches. These things weren’t people, and anyone who participated in their cruelty is next," Merlin said. He looked straight into the knight’s eyes, waiting for them to make a move, but it never happened.

"We are not here to fight, great wizard," the knight said. Merlin’s brow wrinkled in confusion.

"Then what business do you have here?" Merlin asked.

The man walked forward, and in his hand he had a piece of paper. He opened it and handed it to Merlin.

"It’s a contract made by the 10 kings of man. They want to make a deal with you," the man said. Merlin read through the contract, and what was written in there shocked him.

"So they want the holy knight I sealed in my KÁ? And in exchange they will never send holy knights against us or attack us in any form?" Merlin said, skeptical about this unbelievable deal. "What made them make such a deal? Who is the knight I sealed away?"

The knights just looked at each other, contemplating whether they should answer his question or not. "That information isn’t part of the deal. So are you going to sign it or not?" the knight asked.

Merlin paused for a moment, thinking about the deal. If he signed it, then it would become easier for them to travel around the world, and they would only have to worry about the demons now.

He summoned a pen in his hand and signed the contract. But he still lingered on the identity of the knight he sealed, and why the gods would allow such a contract to be made just to save one man.

He handed the man the contract. "Where is the knight?" the man asked.

"Wait a minute, I still have to locate him in my KÁ. It’s a huge place," Merlin said as he closed his eyes. The air started becoming thicker as Merlin’s Uzu was being released.

Laila focused on the knights in front of them, ready to defend Merlin if they tried anything while his eyes were shut.

"KÁ: WORLD OF EMPTINESS," Merlin chanted, and a huge amount of Uzu was released from his body, frightening the holy knights in front of him.

When he opened his eyes, he was holding onto a knight with scrappy armor. The knight had dark circles around his eyes like he hadn’t slept in a long time, but he was far stronger than the other knights.

The knight Merlin was holding summoned a sword in his hand and almost sliced Merlin’s hand off before the other knights stopped him.

"General William, stop!" a knight shouted, and the man stopped before his blade made contact with Merlin.

"Soldier? What are you doing here?" the man said. His expression was grim and his eyes were lifeless.

"We were sent by the 10 great kings, sir. They made a deal with the wizard for your release in exchange for us to never fight him and his crew," the knight answered.

"How could they make such a foolish deal? He should be dead!" the knight called General William screamed out in anger.

"Calm down, sky king. They saved your miserable life. So how long were you stuck in there?" Merlin said, and his question was more of a tease than an actual question. "It’s been 5 days out here since I sealed you, and since time moves differently in my KÁ. I’d say you spent 3 years in there, am I right?" he added.

The fury inside the knight could not be contained, and he jumped towards Merlin, ready to kill him.

"I will kill you!" he screamed.

But before he touched Merlin, a strange figure teleported between them. This strange new figure was wearing full-body armor, and on his head he wore a golden crown that was fused together with his helmet.

The expression on general William’s face suddenly changed, and what was anger turned into fear. Every last one of the holy knights knelt down immediately.

"M-my king. You came too?" General William asked with visible fear in his eyes.

Even though Merlin could not see the new figure’s face, he knew exactly who that was.

"The gods gave you another chance and you want to squander it before you even serve them once more?" the crowned man said. His voice was soft but commanding.

"N-no, my king, I wish only to serve the gods. I’m sorr—" general William was punched in the face before he even finished talking, knocking him out.

The crowned man grabbed him and threw him at the other holy knights.

"Take him back to the holy kingdom," the crowned man commanded.

He turned around and looked at Merlin, and even with Merlin’s height of 7 feet, he still had to look up at this strange man.

"I never thought there would come a day when you guys would bring a contract to me. So who is that kid, Percy?" Merlin asked the man. The tone he used with him was like they had known each other for years.

"That isn’t something you have to know. And good luck on whatever you will be doing next, Merlin," the man said before flying away.

Laila was standing there, shocked by the events that had just transpired.

"Who was that?" Laila asked.

Merlin looked at her and scratched his head. Sigh.

"His name is Perseus and he was a friend a long time ago. He works for the gods now, but I don’t blame him. I only blame myself for failing him and the others."
