Ch-8 Standing Until the End
Chen Feng and Chen Ling finished eating their food.
After paying for the meal, they started walking back toward the sect while chatting happily.
Suddenly, a shadow flashed behind them.
Chen Feng quickly turned around, but there was nothing there.
Then—
A powerful chop struck the back of his neck.
Everything went dark.
When Chen Feng slowly opened his eyes, he looked around in confusion.
Chen Ling was lying unconscious beside him.
They were inside a dark cave.
Heavy footsteps echoed through the cave.
Step…
Step…
Step…
A huge man wearing a black robe walked toward them.
His body was massive, and his face was covered with a thick beard.
Chen Feng’s expression changed.
Chen Feng: “Who are you?
Do you know we are disciples of the Heavenly God Sect?”
The black-robed man suddenly laughed with a creepy smile.
Black-Robed Man: “There is no one left in the Heavenly God Sect.
They have all gone to the battlefield.”
The man slowly walked closer.
Black-Robed Man: “You two will become sacrifices for the Demon God.
The sacrificial ritual will begin soon.”
Chen Feng gritted his teeth.
Chen Feng: “You are from the Demon Kingdom!”
The black-robed man smiled coldly before turning away.
Black-Robed Man: “Cherish the little time you have left.”
After the man left deeper into the cave, Chen Feng immediately struggled against the ropes binding his hands and legs.
After several painful attempts, he finally freed himself.
He quickly moved toward Chen Ling.
Chen Feng: “Chen Ling, wake up!”
After shaking her for some time, Chen Ling slowly opened her eyes.
Chen Feng quickly explained the situation.
Without wasting another second, the two of them rushed toward the cave entrance.
But suddenly—
A furious roar exploded behind them.
The black-robed man had discovered their escape.
Chen Feng and Chen Ling ran desperately through the forest, not daring to stop even once.
However, the enemy was a Second Layer Foundation Establishment cultivator.
The gap between them was simply too large.
Within moments, the black-robed man caught up.
He suddenly landed in front of them, blocking their path.
Chen Feng immediately pulled Chen Ling behind him protectively.
The black-robed man threw a terrifying punch toward them.
Chen Feng could dodge it—
But if he moved away, the attack would hit Chen Ling.
Without hesitation, Chen Feng activated his body cultivation.
A bronze chakra appeared behind him.
His body slowly turned bronze-colored.
The Ninth Layer Bronze Body was only equal to the Ninth Layer Qi Refinement.
But the enemy was in the Second Layer Foundation Establishment Realm.
The difference was overwhelming.
BOOM!
Chen Feng took the punch head-on and was forced several steps backward.
Pain spread through his entire body.
Still, he clenched his teeth and punched back, forcing the black-robed man to step back slightly.
The black-robed man became furious and started throwing punch after punch.
Chen Feng endured every single attack without retreating.
Crack!
His arms began to fracture.
Blood dripped from his fists.
Yet he continued standing there like an unmoving wall.
The pain was unbearable, but his willpower suppressed it completely.
He only needed one opportunity.
One opening.
Then—
The black-robed man exposed his neck for a brief second.
Chen Feng’s eyes flashed.
Without hesitation, he gathered all his remaining strength and punched forward with everything he had.
CRACK!
The sound of bones breaking echoed through the forest.
The black-robed man’s eyes widened before his massive body collapsed onto the ground.
Chen Feng breathed heavily.
His hands were covered in blood.
He grabbed the spiritual bag hanging from the man’s waist.
Beside him, Chen Ling was crying uncontrollably.
No matter how talented she was, she was still just a child.
The two quickly crossed the forest and ran toward the nearest city.
After reaching the city gates, Chen Feng finally collapsed from exhaustion.
Chen Ling knelt beside him in panic, tears flowing endlessly.
When Chen Feng opened his eyes again, he found himself inside a medical room.
An old physician stood beside the bed while checking his injuries.
The physician sighed in relief.
Physician: “You are very lucky, young man.
If treatment had been delayed any longer, your arms could have been permanently crippled.”
The physician stood up and called the people waiting outside.
Chen Ling, Senior Sister Meilin, and Wu Fan quickly entered the room.
Their expressions changed when they saw Chen Feng’s condition.
Physician: “His injuries are severe.
He must rest for some time.
Until then, he should not use his hands.”
Chen Ling lowered her head as tears rolled down her cheeks.
Chen Ling: “This wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t asked to visit the market…”
Chen Feng tried to pat her head, but a sharp pain shot through his arm.
Still, he forced out a smile.
Chen Feng: “You don’t need to blame yourself.
I agreed to go too.”
Hearing his words only made Chen Ling cry harder.
Then suddenly—
A terrifyingly cold aura spread from outside the medical hall.
