Mark Reed set down his pen and looked up at Claudia Ross with seriousness, “Once you’ve joined the company, we’re all family.

If you encounter any difficulties, just speak up.

You’re here to work, not to sell your life.Full novel: Reborn of the Billionaire’s Wife — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After the surgery, take a few days off to rest at home.

I’m not an unscrupulous boss.”

“Thank you, Mr.

Reed.”

The warmth from a stranger moved Claudia Ross deeply.

Mark Reed flipped through Claudia Ross’s resume and noticed that under marital status she had listed “divorced.”

He couldn’t help but frown.

Divorced at just twenty-two years old, how pitiful.

The child in her belly was even more pitiful.

…

With things to do every day, Claudia Ross’s life was fulfilling, and the ten days passed by quicker than she had imagined.

Come weekend, Nana Monty accompanied Claudia Ross to the hospital.

The ultrasound showed she was expecting twins.

Claudia Ross held the ultrasound report, somewhat in a daze.

There were actually two babies in her belly.

She suddenly really wanted to cry.

Nana Monty snickered, “Wyatt Perry sure is capable, nailing two in one go.

Just give birth to them, and we can raise them together.”

Wyatt Perry won’t let me have the children,” Claudia Ross shook her head in pain.

“Just don’t tell him then.

I’ll accompany you somewhere else, and we can secretly have the babies.

He’s now bustling with that vixen and has no time to bother with you.

When he’s old and decrepit, we can have the twins come back to claim their inheritance and piss off that shameless vixen.”

Nana Monty thought her clever plan was perfect as she laughed, unable to close her mouth.

Even the usually unsmiling Claudia Ross was amused by her.

Nana Monty asked, “What do you think, have you decided whether to have the children?”

“I need to think about it some more.” She couldn’t make up her mind just yet and would think it over once she got home.

“If you ask me, there’s no need to think about it anymore.

Look at how good Wyatt Perry’s genes are; his kids are bound to be beautiful.

Beautiful twins are so rare.

They could even become stars when they grow up, and I as their godmother can bask in the glory too, hahaha…”

Nana Monty pulled Claudia Ross along cheerfully toward the elevator.

Sitting on a bench in the corridor, Katie Poole looked up, her eyes fixated on Claudia Ross’s retreating figure, a sinister coldness flashing in her eyes.

…

Nana Monty stayed to work overtime at the company, and although Claudia Ross wanted to stay with her, she started experiencing morning sickness in the last few days and felt uncomfortable, so she decided to head back home to rest first.

As Claudia Ross walked out of the company, she caught the scent of fried pancake rolls, and her appetite suddenly surged.

She hurriedly bought a serving and ate with relish.

A Bentley Mulsanne pulled up in front of her.

The window rolled down, and Mark Reed smiled at her, “Get in, I’ll give you a ride.”

“No need, Mr.

Reed, I can take the light rail home; it’s very convenient,” Claudia Ross replied.

Others would have jumped at the chance to get in the car and curry favor.

But Claudia Ross was not one to curry favor or cling to the powerful; she declined Mark Reed’s kind offer.

Mark Reed anticipated her refusal, got out of the car, opened the passenger door, and ushered Claudia Ross in.

“Mr.

Reed…” Claudia Ross looked at him helplessly; this man was truly warm-hearted.

As soon as Mark got in the car, he asked, “Did you have the surgery?

Why didn’t you take leave to rest at home?”

“I didn’t have it,” Claudia Ross turned her head to look out the window, “Can we not talk about this topic, please?”

“Sure.” Mark Reed fell silent for a moment, then started discussing work matters to ease the awkwardness.

“Goodbye, Mr.

Reed!”

When they arrived below Nana Monty’s apartment building, Claudia Ross got out of the car and walked toward the entrance.

Suddenly, a person sprang from a dark corner, holding a bucket of something, and made a beeline toward her.
