After entering a cluttered room, Han Yue noticed signs that a cabinet had been moved before.

When he pushed it aside, he unexpectedly found a sheet of music hidden behind it.

Only then did he remember that Jill was not just absurdly beautiful and ridiculously capable in a fight—she could play the piano too.Full novel: Reincarnation Instance Choosing Resident Evil, Ada Is My Girlfriend — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Brains and brawn, both maxed out.

From combat to music, she was basically good at everything.

When he unfolded the sheet, it turned out to be Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata.

Han Yue immediately handed it to Jill.

Jill looked at him in confusion.

“Why are you giving me this?”

“Just take it.

It might come in handy.”

Jill looked speechless.

“In a place like this, how could sheet music possibly come in handy?”

“You never know.

Look, there’s a piano over there.” Han Yue pointed to the instrument on the far side of the room.

“I’ve got a feeling something will happen if you play it.”

“Go on, play a little.

Watching a beautiful woman play the piano is a kind of enjoyment too.

After everything we’ve gone through, relaxing for a moment isn’t exactly a bad thing.”

Jill gave him a look.

“Then let’s count this as repayment for you saving my life, alright?”

Han Yue: “???”

“Is my life really worth that little?

One song and that settles it?”

“Too bad.

My piano playing is valuable.

Most people never get the chance to hear it.”

“Wow…

listen to you.

Fine.

Whatever.

There’ll be plenty of chances later anyway.”

Jill smiled faintly, then sat down in front of the piano.

Her slender hands lifted lightly, and her fingers danced over the keys.

The notes flowed out in soft strands, lingering in the air like a breeze brushing past the ears—gentle, drifting, and strangely beautiful in a place like this.

Han Yue was entranced.

Don’t misunderstand.

He wasn’t entranced by the music.

The tight S.T.A.R.S.

uniform outlined her graceful figure perfectly.

Sitting before the piano, she did not look out of place at all.

If anything, it gave her an even more layered kind of charm.

When the final note faded, a hidden door at the side slowly opened.

Jill turned in surprise.

“Did you already know this door could only be opened by playing the piano?”

“What else?” Han Yue spread his hands, then added, “You play really well.

Don’t play anymore from now on.”

Jill: “???”

“Go to hell!”

Han Yue grinned, dodged Jill’s kick, and immediately ran into the hidden room.

The space inside was not very large.

After turning one corner, there was a black statue.

And below it lay a diary.

George Trevor’s diary.

It recorded what happened after Spencer imprisoned George Trevor there.

It described how his wife and daughter were taken away, how he himself was injected with the virus, and how Spencer eventually revealed that all of it had supposedly been “for the sake of the mansion’s security,” at which point George Trevor finally understood the truth.

But by the time he understood, it was already too late.

Because as the man who designed this mansion, there were only two people in the world who knew all its secrets.

One was George Trevor himself.

The other was the owner of this place—Spencer.

And in order to bury those secrets forever, Spencer had George Trevor’s entire family murdered.

…

After reading the diary, Jill looked at Han Yue in disbelief.

“So the one locked inside that coffin underground…

is the designer of this place.”

Han Yue nodded.

“That should be right.

And there should be more secrets hidden in that coffin too.

I think we still need to collect those four masks.”

Jill clenched her teeth.

“Fine.”

Then she continued, “Looks like this mansion is still hiding a lot of secrets.

But as an Umbrella employee, you seriously know nothing about any of this?”

Han Yue shot back immediately, “How many times have you suspected me by now?

What exactly do I have to do before you’ll believe me?”

“It literally says only two people knew the secret here.”

“Sorry…

I’m sorry.”

“Forget it, forget it.

Let’s hurry up and find the masks.”

There was also a golden emblem beneath the statue.

After taking it, the two of them walked back out.

“Do you know where any of the masks are?

This damn mansion’s layout is way too complicated.”

Han Yue thought for a moment.

“That room with the giant snake—if I’m remembering right, there should be a mask in there.

Want to go?”

“You still have snake serum?” Jill asked.

Han Yue nodded.

“Then let’s go.

But first, let’s check on Richard.”

“Fine.

Whatever you say.”

The two returned to where Richard was resting, and his complexion looked much better than before.

The moment he heard Jill say she was heading to the room with the giant snake, he immediately shouted, “I’m going too.”

“No.

In your condition, how are you supposed to go?” Jill refused at once.

Richard clenched his teeth.

“That damn snake dared to bite me.

I have to settle this score.”

“Alright.”

Seeing that he insisted, Jill did not reject him.

With Richard leading the way, the three of them arrived at a door covered in spiderwebs.

Richard pointed at it.

“This is the place.

You’re all ready to fight, right?”

Jill nodded with a serious expression.

By comparison, Han Yue looked far more relaxed.

After everything that had happened last night, he had long since lost the fear he’d had toward these B.O.W.s at the beginning.

“I’ll go first.

Be careful, alright?” Han Yue said as he stepped forward.

“If you get hurt, my heart’s going to ache.”

It’s not really mandatory—I’ll eventually upload all the chapters here—but it helps a lot in supporting me and allows me to dedicate more time to it.
