The sharks weren’t especially hard to deal with.
The tank wasn’t that deep, either.
After a few shotgun blasts, the water was stained red with blood.
Following the side passage, the two of them reached the control room in the middle of the tank.
Han Yue directly drained all the water out.
The remaining sharks immediately began flopping around on the floor like they were breakdancing.
Thrashing everywhere.
There was nothing else worth finding here, so he and Jill headed back the way they had come.
At this point, Han Yue genuinely wanted a speedrun guide.
He really didn’t want to keep running back and forth like this anymore.
There was an old saying: when a man and a woman work together, the job feels easier.
But try taking your girlfriend shopping sometime—damn it, she can absolutely exhaust you to death.
That was exactly how Han Yue felt right now.
The two of them had already been wandering around this mansion for hours.
In his heart, Han Yue had already cursed Spencer hundreds of thousands of times.
Right now, he truly wanted to storm into Spencer’s residence and teach that old bastard exactly what a Magnum was.
And what an RPG was.
As the two of them kept circling through the mansion, they suddenly heard gunfire in the distance.
Jill immediately hurried toward the sound and was surprised to find Wesker there.
“Wesker?”
This was also Han Yue’s first time seeing the most popular villain in the Resident Evil series in person.
Hearing her voice, Wesker turned around.
He looked faintly surprised too.
“Jill?
You’re still alive!”
The way he said it made it hard to tell whether he was relieved she was safe, or shocked she somehow hadn’t died yet.
Obviously, Jill still had no idea that the captain standing in front of her was the mastermind behind everything.
“And this is?” Wesker glanced at Han Yue beside her.
Han Yue introduced himself, “John.
A researcher recently transferred from Chicago.
I ran into Jill inside the mansion.”
Wesker found it a little strange.
This man had clearly been with Rebecca at the Executive Training School before, so why was he here now?
But none of that showed on his face. The source of this chapter is g.com.
He turned back to Jill and said, “Sorry.
To stay alive, I could only focus on fighting those monsters first.”
“Anyway, fortunately, you’re alright.”
At that point, Wesker paused for a moment, then said in a low voice, “Did you notice?
Barry’s been acting a little strange.”
For that bit of asking what he already knew—for that classic thief crying thief routine—Han Yue felt Wesker deserved full marks.
Jill folded her arms across her chest and nodded.
“He has been acting strangely.”
Clearly, Jill still hadn’t realized that the captain in front of her was the one pulling the strings behind all of this.
“Maybe that’s normal under circumstances like these.
After all, this is completely different from any of our usual missions.
In any case, our top priority is getting out of here.”
“I agree.”
After saying that, Wesker turned as if he were about to leave, but then stopped and looked back once more.
“I still can’t get into those locked rooms in the mansion…”
Jill immediately understood what he meant.
“I understand.
I’ll head back to the mansion in a bit.”
Wesker nodded.
“I’m counting on you.”
With that, he left.
…..
Watching Wesker’s retreating back, Han Yue suddenly said, “You didn’t notice anything off about Wesker?”
“Hm?” Jill looked at him, puzzled.
“Mm…” Han Yue pretended to think for a moment, then shook his head.
“Forget it.
It’s probably not something I should say.”
Seeing him stop halfway, Jill frowned.
“Just say it.
I believe you.”
Han Yue raised an eyebrow.
“You sure?
You’ve suspected me plenty of times already.”
“So I believe you now, alright? Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
Just say it.”
Seeing Jill getting a little anxious, Han Yue stopped circling around the point and simply gestured in the direction Wesker had gone.
“Your captain has a problem.
Barry’s unusual behavior is probably connected to him.”
“What did you say?
How is that possible!?” Jill was clearly stunned by Han Yue’s words.
Wesker was her captain.
How could he be the problem?
Besides, in Barry’s earlier conversation, the topic had been killing S.T.A.R.S.
Han Yue continued, “Actually, he’s an undercover Umbrella agent planted inside the police department.
He stayed at the Executive Training School before, and since I’m also an employee from there, I know about this.”
“And last night, I even saw his files there.”
“Oh, right—you remember I told you the zombies here were caused by Marcus?”
Jill said nothing, but her expression had already changed.
Han Yue went on, “Wesker knew that a long time ago.
But he still lured you here anyway.
His goal was to use all of you to test Umbrella’s new B.O.W.s in live combat and collect the data.”
After Han Yue finished speaking, Jill stood there in complete disbelief.
What he had just said contained far too much information all at once.
No matter how she thought about it, she simply couldn’t believe that the captain she had worked with day in and day out was actually a spy.
And not just a spy.
He was planning to have them killed and use their deaths as experimental combat data.
Looking at Jill’s expression, Han Yue said leisurely, “I’ve told you everything I know.
As for whether you believe it or not, that’s up to you.”
Jill clenched her teeth.
After a long silence, she slowly forced out a few words:
“I believe you…”
The corner of Han Yue’s mouth lifted into a smile.
“Heh.
Getting you to believe me really wasn’t easy.”
It’s not really mandatory—I’ll eventually upload all the chapters here—but it helps a lot in supporting me and allows me to dedicate more time to it.
