The two of them returned to the mansion.

One by one, they searched through the rooms that had been locked earlier.

Before long, they found a document that confirmed exactly what Han Yue had just told Jill.Full novel: Reincarnation Instance Choosing Resident Evil, Ada Is My Girlfriend — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

It was an order issued to an undercover agent.

The first order was to lure S.T.A.R.S.

into the mansion and obtain live combat data on both S.T.A.R.S.

and the B.O.W.s.

The second was to collect two embryo samples from each mutant type, with the Tyrant as the sole exception—the Tyrant was to be discarded directly.

The third was to completely abandon the Arklay Research Institute, including all personnel and experimental animals.

Every death here was to be disguised as an accident.

After completing the above procedures, the agent was to report back to Headquarters for further instructions.

After reading through the document, Jill said, “You were right.

There really is an undercover agent in our team.

I thought it was Barry at first…

I didn’t expect it to be Wesker.”

…

For quite a while after that, it was basically nothing but more running back and forth through the mansion, solving one mechanism after another.

Although Han Yue could brute-force his way through some of them, he could not do that with all of them.

They kept going until the small hours of the morning.

Only then did they finally find, in one area, a passage leading even farther down.

And at the entrance to that passage, Barry had even left behind a note.

In it, he explained that he had left some grenade rounds for Jill to use against that monster.

After passing through the iron door, a deep, shadowy tunnel stretched out ahead.

This was the disposal plant once used for Lisa’s “disposal.”

Although torches burned along the inside of the tunnel, visibility was still terrible, and the ground was uneven and pitted everywhere.

The two moved forward carefully.

After passing through several iron doors in succession and turning who knew how many corners, they unexpectedly found someone clutching a wound and leaning against a stone wall, his face twisted in pain.

is that you?”

“Enrico?” Seeing one of Bravo Team’s members, Jill hurried over.

But at this moment, Enrico had already lost mobility because of a serious leg wound.

He could only sit collapsed against the ground.

At the same time, there was not the slightest trace of joy on his face at seeing a teammate again.

Enrico looked at Jill with an extremely grim expression, then shifted his gaze to Han Yue beside her.

“Who’s this guy?”

Jill hesitated for a moment before saying that he was someone she had met inside the mansion.

Seeing that Enrico looked like he was about to say something, she deliberately added that Han Yue was trustworthy.

Knowing he was running out of time, Enrico gritted his teeth and said, “S.T.A.R.S.

is finished.

There’s a traitor among us!”

“This is an Umbrella trap—”

But before he could finish, a bullet came from somewhere and killed him on the spot.

“Enrico!”

Jill shouted and rushed over, only to find that he had already lost all vital signs.

Then she looked toward the direction the shot had come from and said through clenched teeth, “Traitor…”

Thanks to Han Yue’s earlier explanation, Jill already knew the shooter was Wesker.

At this point, among all of S.T.A.R.S.

Bravo Team, only Rebecca was still alive.

Everyone else was dead.

Compared with Alpha Team, the contrast was painfully obvious.

During the Mansion Incident, Alpha Team had only lost one member—and that had happened in the wilderness after running into Cerberus dogs.

Meanwhile, Bravo Team, despite having a medic, had been wiped out down to a single survivor.

That was suspicious no matter how you looked at it.

…

The two turned and left.

They had barely taken a few steps when a Hunter suddenly sprang out.

It was one of those Hunter-type monsters—exactly the kind of thing that made your scalp tighten the instant you saw it.

Faced with the sudden ambush, Han Yue did not panic in the slightest and calmly gunned it down.

They pushed through layer after layer of tunnels. Get faster updates on g.com.

Inside, they also found quite a bit of ammunition.

But one look at the situation was enough for Han Yue to realize that a boss fight was probably coming soon.

This was classic Resident Evil bullshit.

The moment the game suddenly starts giving you a lot more supplies, it means some brutally annoying fight is right around the corner.

Sure enough, after pushing open a door, what appeared before them was no longer another tunnel.

Instead, it was a wide-open area covered in straw mats.

The entire opposite side was draped in spiderwebs.

And then a gigantic mutated spider, seeing live humans enter, let out a strange screech and excitedly crawled down from the ceiling on the far side.

The instant Han Yue saw that spider, goosebumps exploded all over his body.

His scalp went numb.

It was creepy as hell.

He already hated insects, bugs, and things like that to begin with.

And now he had to deal with a spider this absurdly huge—of course, the spider had no intention of stopping just because Han Yue was having a full-body hair-standing-on-end reaction.

After one lunging bite was barely dodged, it let out a weird cry and spat venom straight at Han Yue.

At the same time, smaller spiders began crawling out of the walls from who-knew-where.

This time, Jill was the one actually protecting Han Yue.

With several giant spiders all within his line of sight, Han Yue was covered in goosebumps from head to toe.

“Jill, hold them off for a moment!

I’m going to open the next door!”

The moment he finished shouting, Han Yue—who had completely reached his limit—bolted.

He left Jill standing there in utter chaos.

In Jill’s mind, an entire stampede of curses thundered past as she watched Han Yue sprint all the way to the other end of the room.

“Why don’t you just go die already!!!”

Ignoring Jill’s furious shout, Han Yue had already made it to the far side.

The door over there was completely covered in spiderwebs.

Suppressing the disgust crawling through his entire body, Han Yue pulled out a knife and started cutting the webs away.

It’s not really mandatory—I’ll eventually upload all the chapters here—but it helps a lot in supporting me and allows me to dedicate more time to it.
