~{JENNA’S POV}~
*
“Leave.”
But instead of stepping out, he placed both hands on the table and leaned forward as he said,
“What did you do to make him kiss you?”
At his question I frowned.
“What’s your problem, Mr Levi?”
“The last time Carl kissed a woman was back in high school.
So what did you say to convince him to do that?” He suspiciously asked and I narrowed my eyes at him.
When I parted my lips to respond, my eyes suddenly went wide in astonishment.
“It cannot be…” I disbelievingly said.
“What cannot be?” He pressed on and I looked away as I tried to understand what was going on.
When I looked back at Levi, I did exactly what I had unintentionally done with Carl.
“I want a passionate kiss from you and a romantic moment with you.” The moment I said those words without intentionally using my spells or powers, I felt a wave of energy leave me.
And in expectancy I looked at Levi to see if he would be affected but his frown only deepened as he said, “Are you out of your mind?”
Now that should have been Carl’s exact response!
Did my powers work on him?
At that thought I gasped so loud that I sprang up to my feet in frustration.
Oh goodness!
My eyes instantly locked onto him in disbelief and horror.
“You are my target.” I dreadfully declared.
“What?” He asked in disbelief and took another step back when he saw me step away from my chair.
“Whatever you have in mind to do, don’t dare try it with me because I won’t hesitate to slap you,” he gave a serious warning but it was too late.
I was already invested.
“Kiss me, Levi.
I order you to kiss me!” I firmly casted a spell and all he did was look at me like I had gone insane.
How did I not notice this sooner?!
Levi was the one I should have focused my energy on and not Carl.
Oh my!
This just got interesting and difficult at the same time.
I could cast spells on anyone I wanted but Carl had shown that nothing could work on him until today and it surprised me greatly.
And of all people that my powers couldn’t work on, why Levi?
“If I decide to stop pursuing Carl, will you have me?” I bluntly asked because I had nothing to lose.
I was desperate because I had two years and some months before I turned 25 so I needed to hurry up.
“Of course not.
I disliked you from the moment I laid eyes on you.
That’s not going to happen.” He quickly brushed it off in irritation.
Yet instead of backing down I began walking towards him and it got to a point he simply stopped moving away and stood his ground like he was testing what I would do so he could act out.
When I stood before him with both of us holding each other’s gaze, I tried one more time to be sure and truly I couldn’t control him.
Without wasting another second, I picked up my furry coat and bag before coming to meet him.
“I would like to work with you, Levi.
If you already have a PA then I shall be your partner.
Are your parents also bothering you to marry?
I don’t mind drawing up a contract.” I hurriedly said because I didn’t want to miss this opportunity.
He looked really confused and stressed out by my sudden change of mind but I cared less about what Carl would think of me.
Levi is the only one in all of history not to fall under my spell and therefore he is my choice.
I won’t be looking further.
“Why the sudden change of mind?” He confusedly asked.
“We have good chemistry,” I replied.
“No, we don’t.”
Suddenly the door opened and in came Carl but on entering, he narrowed his eyes on me while slowly closing the door behind him.
“What is going on here?” He suspiciously demanded.
“I want to marry Levi,” I dropped the news and for a moment it didn’t settle in.
“You must be joking,” he blurted out.
“I am not.
I have changed my mind.
I do not want to marry you anymore.
I want to do a contract marriage with Levi instead.” I went straight to the point, leaving them all worked up and the room tense with so many emotions.
