“I think I will start working tomorrow, sir,” I swiftly said because I needed time to digest everything.Full novel: REWRITING FATE: There is no such thing as soulmates — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yet he narrowed his eyes on me like he was trying to unravel something.

“But you are already dressed like you were prepared to work today.

Besides, this is Monday and it is best to start today,” he gingerly said and it felt like he clearly wanted me to stay.

“Oh, well I ehm-”

“I have an early meeting with other collaborators, so do well to leisure around and learn one or two things, darling.” He sweetly said and went back to his desk without bothering about my decision and it left me wide eyed.

When he got the things he needed, I quickly hurried towards him and offered to take them but he held them tightly to himself and shook his head before saying, “I can handle them for now.

Besides, I feel like you are trying to get into my space with the way you are looking.

It is not going to happen, honey,” he nonchalantly declared and walked past me, leaving me wide eyed.

What?!

“I wasn’t trying to do any-”

But he stopped and did a light twirl to face me with that knowing look and he eyed me up and down before saying, “You left the top buttons open and your hair looks wild and so does the outfit you have on.

And instead of something demure, you went for a bold lipstick.”

I blinked in surprise because I didn’t think he would actually point all that out.

“But fear not.

This is a fashion company, so you are free to express your creative style but NEVER try that in front of me with that attitude, it feels like you want to seduce me and believe me when I say this but it is gross.”

And with that, he opened the door of his office and stood there, leaving me lost in thought until he said.

“Are you just gonna stand there like a withered flower?

It is just one awful remark, it shouldn’t shatter you like that.

Besides, you brought it on yourself for trying to seduce me,” he blandly said and I walked up to him and stepped out with a bruised ego.

When I walked out of his office, he closed the door and began to march ahead and I followed.

Seeing how broad and tall his back was made me sigh in pain.

How can someone so ridiculously handsome be taken by the male audience?

When he glanced over his shoulder, I quickly fixed my expression and put up a bright smile.

I followed him to the main staff area where workers were going up and down as they did their job.

When they saw him they would wave and greet him with, “Morn’ boss.”

“Good day boss.”

“You look great boss,” and I felt like I was in his shadow, which wasn’t supposed to be so.

When we went to the elevator, there was a lady present who was about to go down and the moment she saw my boss, she beamed in happiness.

“Mr Carl, it is so nice to see you!” She exclaimed in pure admiration.

Not the type that screamed seduction.

“Hey beauty.

I can see you are set to receive the new interns,” he sweetly said as he stepped into the elevator and I quietly followed and stood behind him.

“Yes, I am.

Did you do a little touch to your hair?

It looks different,” she pointed out and all the while I felt more and more invisible and it irked me.

I can decide to walk away but I had no option to do so right now.

“You have keen eyes.” He praised and gave her a charming smirk.

“By the way, this is Jenna, my new PA,” he finally introduced me to her and she glanced at me.

When I saw the look she gave me while eyeing me up and down, I smiled because she had just gotten herself in my bad book.

“Ah, I see,” she said and looked away without bothering to introduce herself or be nice.

“Would it hurt you to introduce yourself?” I spoke out without bothering to hide my distaste.

She turned and looked at me with an arched eyebrow like she couldn’t believe my audacity.

“Do you need an introduction from me?” She asked with a feigned look of innocence and I smirked and said nothing.

When we got to the base of the building, the elevator doors opened and Carl, my boss, elegantly stepped out of the elevator.

But when the other lady wanted to go after him, I pinned her against the wall of the elevator and hissed at her, leaving her wide eyed at my behavior.

“I hate rude people so be prepared to have a huge acne outbreak all over your face.”

After saying that, I walked away.

“And who do you think you are?” She said after me but I didn’t respond.

I simply went to Carl who sighed and said, “Why do you ladies always like to fight with each other?”

“It is just in our blood to do so,” I answered and smiled as I walked beside him.

When he glanced at me, he smirked and said, “You will make a fine PA, Jenna.”

Finally, he was calling me by my name.

It is better he refers to me as ‘Jenna’ than all those sweet names with empty meanings.

More staff at the ground floor greeted him and when we got outside where his car was pulled up front, I noticed that it was simple and it made me frown.

He had all the money so why does he drive a simple car?

When he entered the car and I wanted to follow, he stopped me, leaving me confused.

“For now I want you here.

Try to get acquainted with the surroundings and try to get close to Lily, she will tell you what to do and what not to do,” he instructed and I blinked in surprise but gave a nod.

When he drove off, I remained outside as I wondered how I got myself here and it was then another car pulled up in front of me, leaving me slightly taken aback.

The door to the car was opened by one of the security guards standing outside and when the person stepped out, I froze.

It was a tall handsome man with a good stance and for a moment there I wanted to lust after him.

In an instant his eyes found me and I realized they were grey.

“Good day sir,” I cheerfully greeted and put up a warm smile because it felt like he was here to see Carl who just left.

When he didn’t answer but simply stared, I did the talking.

“Are you here to see Mr Carl?” I asked and that was when he spoke.

“And who are you?”

“I am Jenna Hart, his new PA,” I warmly introduced myself and loved how it sounded.

“I see.” He said and began to walk in while I quickly followed.

“Is there anything you need to tell him?

You can tell me so I will relay it to him when he is back.” I hastily said as I hurried after him since he had long legs.

He stopped and turned to give me a cold look, leaving me confused.

“And why would I tell you anything when I can simply give him a call?

Haven’t you heard who I am?” He calmly asked and I stood confused.

“No I haven’t,” I answered and he narrowed his eyes on me.

“Where is Lily?” He demanded and I frowned.

What is their deal with Lily?

“Why do you need Lily when I am here?” I boldly inquired and he blinked as though he was surprised by what I said.

“None of your business.

Besides, why are you dressed that way?”

At his question, I frowned and boldly confronted him, “What is wrong with my dressing?

Does it bother you?

Or are you perhaps thinking naughty things?”

But his next words left me bewildered.

“Why will you dress that way in front of my boyfriend?”

Hehehe…
