My eyes widened at what the lady said over the phone and I couldn’t believe my ears.

Carl has a fiancée?

So fast?

I looked at my wife who calmly sat beside me but gave a curious look when she saw my facial expression.

But my eyes didn’t stop on her.

I faced forward and looked at the petite beauty seated before us with a vibrant smile.

My wife and I had personally selected her for Carl but now I was hearing otherwise and it left me lost of words.

“Did Carl put you up to this?” I finally found my voice as I asked the lady over the phone.

The lady I had selected for Carl was one of the board members’ daughter and with what I am hearing, things may get complicated.

“No, of course not, sir.” She sweetly answered and my eyebrows drew closer in confusion.

My son was a hard gay man, so it would be impossible for him to approach a lady and ask for her hand in marriage unless this was all for show.

Perhaps a contract marriage?

As that thought came to mind, I smiled and shook my head.

How very silly of Carl.

“Young lady, give the phone to Carl,” I firmly said.

“He is unavailable at the moment sir and asked me to take whatever call that may come in.” She sweetly said and her voice was already irking me.

“Put the phone on loudspeaker.

I know he is there,” I firmly instructed.

“That is totally uncalled for, sir.

Please, what would you like me to tell him when he is back?” She asked and I could tell she was oblivious of who she was speaking to.

“Do you know who you are speaking with?” I asked in irritation.

“Yes, this is Carl’s father.” She answered and made it seem like there was nothing special about me.

The audacity of her!

“Hey!

You young lady from God knows where you come from.

Hand the phone to Carl this instant or you will regret it when we come face to face.” I warned her and her response was,

“Babe, your father wants to speak with you.”

My eyes nearly popped out as I turned to look at my wife who was still looking at me because she couldn’t really understand what was going on since it wasn’t on loudspeaker.

For a moment I didn’t hear any response from my son, until-

“Hello, father.”

“Yes, Carl.

I see that you’ve gone ahead to take things into your own hands.

Who is that lady you put on the call?” I suspiciously asked.

“My fiancée.

Didn’t she tell you already?” He gave an obvious answer and I scoffed.

“I’m not buying it. Get faster updates on g.com.

I want to see you this instant.

I’d like you to meet someone.” I firmly told him.

“Sure, I’ll be there with my fiancée,” he swiftly agreed and my eyes widened as I gave a stern warning.

“Don’t bring that disrespectful lady here or I’ll teach her a lesson.”

“If she can’t come along then I can’t come,” Carl stood his ground and I gave a dark laugh.

“I see she is fueling your already bad character.” I pointed out and heard him hum in agreement.

“Fine, bring her along.

I’ll send you the address.” I said and ended the call.

When I dropped the phone, I breathed out heavily before leaning in to whisper to my wife.

“Carl claims to have a fiancée.”

She gasped loudly as her eyes widened.

“That’s a lie!” She disbelievingly exclaimed.

I turned and faced the lady before me and asked a simple question.

“Do you want my son?”

“Very much,” she answered with glee.

“A lady is coming here and I want you to put her in her place.

I believe she has nothing, no class, no status, and most especially, no money.

So she shouldn’t be difficult to trample.”

“Jenna,” Carl called my name the moment he ended the call and I gave him my full attention.

He looked irritated and I assumed it was with his father.

“When we get to the office, meet Lily and request a date dress which you will be wearing to meet with my father.” He instructed and my eyes lit up in excitement.

“We will be meeting with your father?” I excitedly asked what I already knew.

“Should I come along?” Levi asked Carl as he placed a worried hand on his shoulder as if to soothe whatever he was feeling.

“No,” I swiftly objected and they both looked at me.

“Did I ask you?” Levi irritatedly asked.

“Yes please, I want you there.” Carl agreed and entered the car which was already opened by the chauffeur.

Before Levi went in after Carl, he rolled his eyes at me and I hissed at him in annoyance.

When I got inside the car at the same time with Levi, he called out my name and I looked at him from the rearview mirror.

“What do you want, Mr Levi?”

“That’s three points for me while you get two.” He read out the points and I gave a dark laugh as I took note of it.

~{LEVI’S POV}~

When we got back to the office, Jenna went her separate way but could not stop glaring at me while Carl and I went to his private office.

We took the private elevator preserved for him and important bodies.

Once the doors closed and left us to ourselves, I dropped the facade and so did he.

He linked his hand with mine and I turned to look at him with a satisfied smile which he returned and leaned in to plant a kiss at my neck before whispering these words, “You look more radiant today, my love.”

“You can say that again,” I took pride in it and he snickered a laugh before asking, “Are you ok with everything?”

“No, I am not but what can we possibly do?” I asked and heard him sigh.

“But why Jenna?

She’s such a nuisance and every time I see her I just want to slap that smug look off her stupid face.” I irritatedly said the moment I remembered her facial expressions whenever she had a win.

“She is the kind of person that will go against everyone, including my father.

If I chose a soft lady, she would just nod to everything my father says, which is why she fits the role perfectly.” He explained.

“What if your parents are against this fake union between you both?” I asked.

“Then I will go ahead and marry her regardless,” he bluntly said.

“Do you like her?” I suspiciously asked.

“I like her personality but if you are asking romantically, then no.” He answered.

“That’s a relief,” I said and he brought our linked hands to his lips and kissed the back of my hand.

“You’re the only one who has my heart, Levi.

So don’t worry about Jenna.” He assured me.

“I need something that screams wealth, Lily.” I told her what I wanted and she searched through the racks of clothes since it was a fashion company.

Carl was a stylist and fashion guru from my research and the CEO of “Carl’z Empire.”

It was birthed by his father’s company which had to do with investments, stocks and so on.

I didn’t know much about that, which is why I cared less to bother about it.

“What’s the occasion?” Lily absently asked while searching for something fitting of the description.

“I will be meeting with Carl’s father,” I proudly revealed and watched how she froze before looking at me in confusion.

And as she looked at me, I flashed the hand I had the ring on and said, “We’re engaged to be married.”

For a moment she stared with a look of disbelief and bewilderment.

No words could be formed as she turned fully to face me with her eyes so wide that they would fall.

“H-how?” She stuttered when she finally found her voice.

“I seduced him,” I lied.

“What about Mr Levi?” She asked in concern.

“He is willing to share,” I uninterestedly said and waved my hand in the air to show that he wasn’t a problem at all.

“Mr Levi is very possessive of Mr Carl.

I don’t believe this,” she firmly stood her ground and I scoffed at her.

“I would love to see your reaction when he personally tells you.” I nonchalantly said and went to select an outfit myself.

“How about this?” I asked as I pulled out an improper outfit.

“Please no,” she begged and that was all I needed to know it was the right one.
