~{JENNA’S POV}~
*
When I walked into Carl’s office I noticed how Levi inhaled as he blinked severally like he was trying to understand if it was a joke or not.
Carl on the other hand sighed and said, “What’s your motive by dressing this way?
Do you want to seduce my father instead?”
He didn’t look annoyed
He didn’t look bothered
He didn’t seem affected
And this was troubling
I was hoping that it would affect him just a little.
At least his manly side shouldn’t be completely taken but I guess I was wrong.
But I shall not be discouraged.
“Doesn’t this look wealthy to you?” I gingerly asked and took a pose for him to see me properly.
“It looks like an attention seeker.” Levi answered and I rolled my eyes at him.
Getting up from the couch which was almost in the middle of his office where he was seated with Levi, he checked his watch and said, “Going back to change will be such a hassle, so let’s go.”
“I wasn’t planning to change,” I informed him and he said, “I look forward to you giving my father a good headache.”

When we arrived at the private suite where they were having their dinner which was called, ‘ROYAL ARISTOCRATS SUITES,’ I frowned at the name given to the place but didn’t comment on it.
As we were ushered in, I felt the stares on me.
Of course they would stare.
I was wearing an off shoulder corset dress that pushed my breasts up provocatively.
As for the dress’s skirt, it had a long slit stopping way above my left thigh.
When I walked, my thigh was exposed to people’s eyes but I cared less.
I have lived many centuries to care what anyone thought of me.
I had no make-up on but ensured to have a bold red lipstick on.
And of course I was in heels to match the aura I was going for.
Levi had to wait in the car, so it was Carl and I who were escorted by one of the attendants who said they were expecting us, meaning his father must’ve told them about our coming.
I saw the distaste and quiet judgement in the ladies eyes but the shock and awe in the men’s eyes and it made me raise my chin in pride.
When Carl wanted to walk a little further, I swiftly linked my hand around his arm and it took him by surprise, causing his steps to falter as he turned to look at me.
Show some affection.”
“You seem to be enjoying this more than I am,” he calmly said before he resumed walking.
“If only you had an idea how much of a thrill this is.” I let him know.
We had to take an elevator which took us all the way up since it was a tall building with beautiful aesthetics and a lot of gold.
I don’t really pay attention to how a place looks because I have seen many beautiful buildings in my lifetime, so nothing surprised me.
Every century, my sisters and I die at age 25 just to reincarnate in the next century and live up to 25 again just to repeat the same circle.
Living to age 25 wasn’t life at all.
And right now I have lost track of how many times we have died and reincarnated but I could remember our past lives and the parents we had, but not all.
“This is it,” the male attendant who escorted us to the private dining room they were in, announced.
My smile knew no bounds as I prepared to face his father and the security standing at the entrance opened the door to let us in after informing them of our presence.
The moment we walked in, I instantly saw the horror on their faces.
I was still smiling as I looked at their faces and it appeared it wasn’t just his father.
It was his father, his mother and an unknown lady.
From the looks of it, it was obvious she was a blind date for Carl.
I eyed her up and down before looking back at her face to find her looking at me with disgust.
“Carl, who is this you have brought to a family dinner?
Where is the said fiancée of yours?” His father repulsively asked as he eyed me up and down in distaste.
“Greetings father-in-law, I am the said fiancée,” I charmingly answered and heard Carl snicker a laugh.
“Is this a joke to you, Carl?” His father asked as he rose up from his seat with a fierce look and an angered countenance.
“Of course not, father.
It is good to see you, mother.” Carl blandly said and guided me to an empty chair beside the petite lady seated across from his parents.
“Stop!
A lady who is so poorly dressed cannot share a table with us.
I cannot accept this insensitive lady as my daughter in-law.” His mother swiftly objected.
Carl froze but I simply unhooked my hand from his arm and stubbornly wanted to sit down only for the petite brown haired lady to pull the chair to herself while saying, “Don’t you have manners?
An elder is speaking to you and yet-” Visit g.com for the full chapter.
I didn’t let her finish as I forcefully grabbed the chair from her grip, causing her to gasp at my audacity.
Once I pulled the chair from her, I elegantly sat down and faced his parents with a lazy gaze rich people wore when they lose interest in something.
“Push me to the edge one more time and I’ll buy your son’s company off your hands and those godforsaken board members.” I sternly threatened them and his mother clasped a hand over her mouth in astonishment while Carl’s father glared at me.
“And who do you think you are?
A royalty?” His father taunted me.
“You have no idea what I’m capable of,” I boldly stated and the atmosphere became cold at the tension between us.
“Pardon my fiancée, father.
Isn’t she charming?” Carl broke the tension by saying that and it further put his mother on the verge of screaming.
“Mr Edmund.
As much as I loved this dinner, I wouldn’t like to be belittled.
If my father hears of this, he will be greatly offended.” The petite lady with brown hair and pretty face coldly said and I scoffed aloud.
“And then what?
Will he threaten to stop investing in my fiance’s father’s business?
Come on little girl, look for a bigger threat please.” I irritatedly said and eyed her through the corner of my eyes.
She gasped and stood up while saying, “I have had enough!”
“Please calm down, Prudence.
Ignore her,” Carl’s mother pleaded with the little girl.
“Ignore me?” I raised my voice as I asked that and it drew their attention.
“It seems you do not know the gravity of what you just did, mother.
You just offended a wealthy businessman’s daughter that could scale our business to a bigger realm.” Carl said and clicked his tongue at them in pity.
The lady who was already irritated by me gave a mocking laugh and took her wine glass from the table before drinking all the content then she faced me and said, “Wait until my father handles you.”
With that, she prepared to leave but I stood up and grabbed her by the arm, hindering her from going anywhere and she struggled to release her hand but I glared into her eyes and said, “Be prepared to receive the biggest shock of your life, little girl.”
After saying that, I shoved her aside and sat back down before drawing her chair closer and saying, “Carl dear, here is an empty chair.”
He had an impressed smile and was clearly enjoying everything.
So he went and sat on Prudence’s chair as she stormed out annoyed while leaving the four of us.
I leaned forward as I rested my hands on the table and linked my fingers together before I asked a question.
“So, father in-law, which day do you have in mind for us to be married?”
