~{PRUDENCE’S POV}~
*
“Hello, dad.
Someone has just disrespected me.
She claims to be Carl’s fiancée and has no shame or manners.” I reported to my father over the phone as I left the building with a few guards following closely.
“Give me her name,” he coldly demanded over the phone.
“I don’t know her name,” I said and on heading out, I spotted Mr Levi leaning against a car.
Did he come with Carl?
They were close friends and a thought suddenly came to my mind as I went to meet with him.
“Give me a moment, father.
I’ll get her name for you.” I told him before the call ended.
“Mr Levi,” I softly called his name and he looked in my direction with an arched eyebrow.
But on seeing who I was, his eyebrows smoothened and he offered a polished smile.
“Ms Prudence,” he called back.
“I assume you are here with Carl.” I started a conversation.
“I am.
Has the dinner ended so soon?” He asked in surprise.
“Of course not.
A lady walked in saying she’s his fiancée.
What’s her name again…” I acted like I had forgotten the name and was trying to recall it.
“Jenna Hart,” he revealed and I blinked in surprise and said, “Yes, that’s her!
Is it really true?
Is he engaged already?”
“He is,” Levi answered and I pondered on his words.
“I see.
Well, it was nice meeting you, Mr Levi.
I shall be on my way now.” I smoothly said and he nodded before I turned away and my mood changed.
I dialed my father’s line again and the moment he answered, I relayed the information.
“Her name is Jenna Hart.”

“So, father in-law, which day do you have in mind for us to be married?”
I crossed a leg over the other as I let Jenna do the talking.
Initially I was going to lead but she took the lead remarkably well and I was overly impressed.
My parents weren’t nice people and all my life they made me less of myself so it was right for someone who isn’t family to put them in their place.
I loved how she was forcing her way in despite their objection to it.
My mother couldn’t stop staring at her like she was witnessing a horror movie while my father remained hard but I could tell Jenna’s audacity affected him.
“I do not buy what you just told us you gold digger.
It is obvious you agreed to whatever it is that Carl put you up to and you have the nerve to flaunt his riches in front of us.” My mother mocked her.
“Take out your phone right now and browse ‘The Hart’s foundation.’
At Jenna’s request, I frowned because I had heard of that foundation and knew about how secretive the family were at keeping their identity a secret.
It was said that they had a set of triplets with the names; Jenna Hart, Rachel Hart and Damaris Hart.
My eyes widened at that realization and my father frowned as he took out his phone to do exactly that and the moment the results came out, I could see the shock written all over his face.
“This is a lie.
You cannot be…there’s no way…” he said in denial.
I looked at Jenna and saw how calm she was.
I couldn’t believe she was their daughter.
I thought she just happened to randomly bear the surname ‘Hart’ and a name similar to the first daughter.
Wait!
She told me she was a triplet!
I closed my eyes and sighed as I thought of how I had been to her.
But how was I to be blamed when she came in so plain and natural like a normal person.
“You cannot be their daughter.
No picture has been put out there about them.
How do you expect us to believe you?” My mother stood her ground.
“Like I told my fiance here.
We have what they call the quiet wealth.
I have all the documents to The Hart’s foundation in my possession and my fingerprints and every other thing has been registered.
I am the true Jenna Hart.
Why will I put my identity out there when I know what comes with going public.” She wisely said and I was tempted to do my own research but restrained myself from doing so in front of my parents or they would see that I knew nothing about her.
Well, I knew nothing about her which is wild.
“Whether you agree to it or not, Carl and I will get married.
I do not care for your blessing or whatever it is.
I have lived for so long to care for that.” Jenna stood her ground and her words kept surprising me.
She was really playing with fire.
Did someone offend her for her to be this rude, audacious and blunt?
Perhaps a terrible heartbreak?
But of all people to settle for, why me?
I was only going to break her heart.
After all, she already knows where my heart lies but is still hopeful that I will miraculously fall for her…a woman!
How ridiculous!
“If you marry her we will disown you and take everything from you, Carl.” My father threatened me.
“You already disowned me when I told you I am gay and now that I have decided to marry a woman you want to double disown me?
How ridiculous, father.” I tiredly said.
“You cannot take anything from him.
He is mine and therefore his problems are now mine as well.” Jenna gravely said and I could tell there was an underlying meaning to it, like she was discreetly warning them not to step out of line.
“Look at what you’ve become, Carl.
Letting a woman talk on your behalf.
How shameless.” My father spat in distaste and got up on his feet, signaling the end of the meeting.
“If I walk out that door without you changing your mind, just know you have started a serious war with me, Carl.” He said and prepared to leave.
My mother stood up as well and gave me one last look of disappointment before following my father.
I remained seated without moving an inch.
I knew the gravity of what I was doing but it was time for me to stand my ground.
Since I couldn’t be gay in public, let me be married to who I want in public.
As they left, I glanced at Jenna and found her already looking at me.
“For a second there I actually thought you would change your mind.” She said and I gave an exhausted sigh before asking a question.
“How long can you go with this attitude?”
“For as long as I am alive,” she answered and grinned widely at me.
“If our contract were to ever come to light, what would you do then?” I curiously asked.
“I won’t deny it.
I will boldly agree to planning it.” She answered with a straight face that left me greatly surprised.
Who is this lady actually?
