Chapter 19-Serena Logan Mervick[2].

Rise Of The Godly Manipulators.

Serena knew all along that perhaps there would come a day when Logan might slip up and fuck someone else. She wasn't dumb enough not to understand the biology of men; they have a long life ahead of them, and thus she knew deep in her heart there might come a day that Logan might step out on her in the marriage.

And as much as that felt her heart being ripped off, her body filling with disgust, and her soul shredding, she was more than willing to accept it. Serena was willing to have some slut out there, perhaps get a taste of her love fruit, and she was willing to let Logan take that path. After all, she could kill the slut later after it.

In her mind, she couldn't fathom any woman being better than her, any woman having the qualities that she has that would make Logan fall in love with another woman. Serena herself works day and night, side by side with Logan, being beside him, giving and living for the company, money, and power.

She is the top of the field in everything, and she gave her man everything he would need in the world. And she thought everything would go as planned, life in this happiness, though when she found out that he was cheating on her, a crack formed in her perfect life, and the dread she had of Logan finding warmth in another woman came alive.

Hence, even though she accepted it, she wanted to give her husband, Logan, the chance to get the lust out of his system and then kill that bitch. But all those plans went down the drain when she saw it with her own eyes, that level of gentle smile Logan never gave her, and that day, the crack widened to the level of shattering.

She understood deep in her heart that Logan loves this woman more than her, this little naive woman who will never be able to hold up in the true business world. She gave him everything, yet he never showed her the gentleness he showed that woman Aria, and that killed her on the inside. That day, everything turned dull for her.

Her disease of obsession that was in bay broke, a new, crazed side of her awakened. The normal-minded Serena knew that with that level of love from Logan, killing Aria might even break him, and that pained her more. But the moment her crazed side took control of her, her logic flew out the window.

Thus, by the time she regained her senses, she had already expected the perfect death of Aria. That day, she felt relief yet guilt, a mixture of dark emotions that perhaps the more heartbroken Logan would depend on her to get better, thus fully pushing his love back to her again, but once again, she miscalculated.

Within hours of her execution, the call came; her husband and son were in an accident, the car reeling off the highway. The moment she heard it, her heart skipped so many beats that she might have lost some of her lifespan then, and at that moment, what came to her heart wasn't Logan first, but her son Lex.

The idea that anything would happen to the brightest sunshine in her life made her feel as if the world spun around her, and for the first time in her life, Serena lost her consciousness out of fear. The moment she opened her eyes back into the world, everything became clear to her.

Her husband was dead, and after she researched it out, she found out that she was responsible for it. The call log and time being more than enough to show that Logan wanted to follow that wretched woman to death, and in that action of his, he almost took her son, her dear sweet son, along with him.

She held her heart even when he cheated and broke her heart, but the moment she found out that he placed their child in danger out of his broken will, all the love she had for him soon mixed with a huge amount of hate, a mixture of hate and love going forth to fill her heart, making her feel suffocated and frail.

From that day onwards, it was all dark and grey for her; that great life simply and fully broken by perhaps her own hand, she lost her husband, and her children lost their father, but even then, Serena refused to fall. She knew she had to take drastic measures to make sure the truth never fell out, and the death of Logan would be fully covered as an accident.

Because in the leftover life of Serena's, she couldn't imagine losing her children too, because if that happened, then she wouldn't be able to live anymore.

Thus, she corrected everything, took every hostage and killing she could to protect her secret. And within her guilt, sadness, and anger, she slowly started to push her children aside. On the day she should have been beside her children, she ran away to the company in the name of fixing it because she didn't have the guts to face her kids.

The company was a mess, the death of Logan causing a steep fall in their stocks, market, and more. The man with the spider-like sense of investing and following money being lost is a huge blow to the company as a whole.

Thus she threw herself into the work, telling herself that with this amount of work, her guilty would perhaps die down a little bit, yet within that cracking heart of hers, her son came back to her, pulling along his sisters as she came up to him, the little boy trying to be the man of the house as he faced her with bright eyes.

That day, he showed her that she wasn't fully lost, that her world hadn't ended, that she still had things she loved and cherishes, things for her to protect and keep safe, ones in her life for her to fight for, a beautiful thing to have.

Her first little light, her cute little boy Lex, seemingly overpowering her pain and trauma, rose forth to take care of her, and that healed her heart a bit. From then on, the little boy went forth to seemingly hold the world on his shoulder as he tried everything to mend their relationship, and he single-handedly started to mend everything together.

He really took on the role as the 'man' of the house, and thus her love for her son only grew; he became a certain sense of light for her as he went around to always make sure that she was okay. In situations where she should be looking after him, he tried to look after her with those beady little eyes filled with worry and gentle smiles.

That day, Serena gained a new lease on life, a path for her to take, and her sweet boy Lex started to grow up. Her genius skills, understanding, and worth go around to stun all the best-educated teachers of the world, his presence being a genius enigma to the world, with his innate keen insight into worldly matters.

She would listen and enjoy the praises being thrown about her son by the best of the best, and even among all that, all Lex cared about was making her proud, to make her happy. He would run up to her, try to take up the business world, just so that he could bring her closer.

And as time went by, she started to see how much Lex inherited from her, their similar tastes, love of business, horse riding, planting, and more. Lex became the very glue that held the family together, becoming indispensable to all.

And just when Serena thought this new happy life would keep going, once again horror started to creep back into her life. After the obsessed side of her fully awakened, she kept having those outbursts as side effects, the range of missing obsession of hers wanting to find something new to cling to. But Serena refused to put a new weakness to herself, thus she held those desires back, holding them with controlled practice.

Serena was developing her own methods and practices to keep her tendencies at bay, and things seemed to work out. Her bond with her son is stronger than ever, seemingly unbreakable, and her love for her son is overflowing enough to end the world. But her sins that she kept running from started to catch up to her as her son Lex seemingly started to regain the memories of the accident.

She could still remember the relief that filled her when she got to know that fact that her son had no recollection of how Logan lost his sense of direction, but now that relief had grown into unbearable pain.

Her son had started to remember the questions he started to ask her, his sudden closeness to that man Kaelum, and then the mumbles he gave off in his sleep. She understood that her secret was getting closer to being revealed, day by day, the darker grey she thought was leaving her came back with full force, hitting her so strongly that the world for the second time started to spin for her.

Thus, she quickly needed to get rid of Kaelum. Even if some things come into play, with Kaeum to fill in the full story, everything would be alright. And due to all the tension she kept having, after all the love that her son gave her, Serena started to lose herself, her attack this time being the strongest she ever felt.

Moments before the attack, everything started to turn red for her, her obsessive side coming out so powerful that she didn't even know what was happening all around her. Thus, she moved to her secret room to get over her attack, playing the same protocol as always with Sandra. She planned on making her move on Kaelum after this.

Serena couldn't. Serena just couldn't have her son hate him, to lose her from her, she just couldn't have that happening to her at all, and she would do anything to make sure that doesn't happen.

"Son?"

Why? Just why is she strangling her son?
