Chapter 20-Falling Tears and Regret.

Rise Of The Godly Manipulators.

'So she has finally regained her sense'

Lex thought, his face now completely blue, his eyes red from suffocation, his face filled with some scratch marks, with his mother Serena over him, still strangling his neck, though right now that craziness that covered over her had receded, those beautiful, intelligent eyes that Lex was used to now peeked out from within her gaze.

"So-Son?"

Serena spoke with a trembling voice, the hold on his neck completely gone as Serena raised her hands to her face, holding them.

"Wh-What have I-I do-done?"

She asked herself, trembling, emotions that even Serena couldn't place filling her as Lex looked at her from below, he making sure to keep his emotional face on all the time.

'Good thing she came to be, else I would have had to take some more drastic methods'

Lex wishes to live an amazing time this time, and he has no interest in having his life snuffed out just at the beginning. If it came to be, he was more than willing to put down Serena, but then it would just be a waste.

"No!.....this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!! .....this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...NOOOOOO!!"

Serena screamed with such words as she rushed away from Lex's body, falling to the ground, curling up as she held her head, her hands crushing her hair, as she kept saying the same word again and again.

"This is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!...this is a dream!! .....this is a dream!!...this is a dream!!"

Serena now trying to escape reality, with her brain now trying to drum up the situation to not break her mind and Lex sat there huffing out, the control of his body slowly coming to be, the air once again filling his lungs, while he coughed out, his thoughts still filled with worry focusing on Serena as he with his hands to the ground spoke.

"Mother…"

He whispered out, his call causing Serena to stop trembling for a moment, but once again she held her head tight.

"No….no…..no!...this isn't all real!"

She tried to tell herself but Lex wasn't going to have at it as struggling, with his hurt body, he swaggered his way to his curled mother, Lex without any second thought quickly hugged his curled mother, her body trembling in response, but Lex didn't stop, his hands wrapped tightly around his mother's head, pulling her deeply in, his hold strong.

And it did wonders to stop Serena from trembling, her head still leaning over to Lex's small chest, and thus holding his mother tight, Lex whispered.

"I love you, Mom."

The words were like thunder resounding within the now cleared mind of Serena. Her body stopped trembling at the sheer amazement of the words. Her head still pressed against the standing chest of her son, but the words of 'I love you, Mom' kept resounding again and again in her mind, playing like a loop.

As Lex felt the tremble in his mother's body subside, he slowly started to pat her head, his gentle touches rubbing against her hair as he coughed up a bit from the soreness, feeling his throat, his coughs only bringing back the trembling in his mother's body.

'Looks like it's going well'

With such a thought, Lex held tightly onto his mother's head, leaning toward his mother's ears to whisper.

"Mother, I know the truth of the accident"

This whisper was another thunder in Serena's mind, the madness that had left her slowly rising back again. Dangerous thoughts started to fill her mind, bloodlust and madness slowly started to take over her, the feeling of her life now being completely overwhelming her heart.

'It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over... It's over...

This same thought flooded her mind. Serena understood that with this now out in the open, the life she held with her son was now fully over. No, it was already over, with her almost killing her son, her madness of a curse almost leading her to take the life of the greatest light still shining in her life.

And Serena could feel it, the hug around her got lighter, the illusion of her son being lost from her life filling her entire being, despair like no other clouding her mind, the trembling getting harder while Serena's eyes turned fully red, Serena could feel it, her body losing strength, her mind slowly succumbing, she felt as if she's falling into a deep abyss, only loneliness and darkness being her ally.

And it was then, as if a strike of light, her son went forth to hug her even tighter, greatly pressing her head to his chest with all his power as he spoke.

"It wasn't your fault, mother"

The words were the third thunder that struck Serena's mind, the biggest one yet, four words 'It wasn't your fault', four words she never thought she would hear but ever so yearned for, Serena knew she would never hear those words and she couldn't even begin to dream of hearing it from her son, one of the few who was directly affected by her action she took that day.

'This is a dream, right?'

Serena asked herself again as the light that entered her mind started to wrap around her. She, who was flowing in that dark abyss with tendrils pulling her down, now felt a sort of freedom. The light of those words slowly gave Serena her strength back, her mental prowess coming back as her son forcefully pulled her out of the abyss.

"Hick!....hick!....hick!....."

The sounds of tears started to fall out, tears about the suffering, pain, and sadness that Serena kept in her heart, the tears that she forcefully held back now bursting forth like a broken dam, her hands held onto her son, wrapping around his waist as she started to cry like a baby, her tears filling her son's chest.

"…..sniff….it's all my fault…..sniff….I'm sorry!....hick!...please don't leave me!.....hick....hick!"

Serena started to speak between her sobs, the power of her feelings all coming forth as one swirling wave as she hugged her son tighter, and like an angel soothing her soul, her son slowly patted her hair, hugging her back as he kept speaking.

"It's not your fault, Mother, it never was; you are a victim too, and I will never accept the fact that you were at fault, even if the world says so; you, my loving mother, aren't at fault."

Those words were sweeter than any honey in the world as they broke through Serena's defences like a dam, her tears and crying getting even louder and louder as she kept sobbing out, letting out all the negative feelings that she held in her heart all this time, her crying not stopping for hours.

'Guess this was a success'

Lex mused while he calmed his mother down. With this step taken, the next ones will be easier to implement.
