Chapter 21-Father Starts To Fade Away.

Rise Of The Godly Manipulators.

An hour slipped by as Serena cried out, they say that crying helps the mind to destress and refreshes it and in the case of Serena, that's what happened. After crying out like she had never done before, her mind cleared up, everything she did till now flashing through her, her entire body flowing with contradicting emotions.

Happiness, sadness, guilt, anger, satisfaction, and more, everything flowing through her but the highest being perhaps embarrassment, the prospect of doing something like this in front of her son being something she never thought would happen in her life. All her life she showed only strength and in her heart she always wanted to be the strong mother he has seen, now that image has been fully broken…

"So-Son is that really you?"

Serena asked, still within Lex's hug, her head on his chest as he held his mother tight, her words filling his ears as he spoke.

"Yes, mother, it's me alright."

His words only going forth to create larger confusion in Serena, as she lightly peeked her eyes towards her son still holding her tight, the love of his ever clear, and it only went forth to make Serena feel as if she is in a dream. One she hopes that she never wakes up from.

"Ho-How did you fi-find ou-out?"

Serena asked with held-back whispers. To this, with a smile, Lex held his mother even tighter as he started to speak in a low voice.

"The memories all came back to me, especially of the crash, the last voice call of father's and the words from Kaelum painted the final pictures for me."

"Kaelum…"

There was suppressed anger in the voice of his mother, and Lex picked up on it clearly, but he didn't speak up on it now as they just kept holding each other as if they were the last ones on the world. The situation taking a reverse with the mother in the warm embrace of her son, though it didn't take long for everything to quickly sink into the mind of Serena as she even with her mind couldn't believe.

"You really don't ha-hate me?"

Serena asked with suppressed emotions, still not being able to believe that all the issues that had been causing danger to her mind were relieved so easily. She never even began to think that her son would have forgiven her for what she had done. To this question of hers, Lex went forth to hold her head, making sure to let her eyes finally meet his, the raw emotions in them being reflected in his mother's eyes as Lex with a gentle smile spoke.

"No mother, I never in a million years could hate you. Sure, I felt conflicted and angered about everything but above all, the anger I felt was towards dad. Just how could he have done this to you? How could anyone even choose another woman over you, mother?"

The raw passion and respect and love that was held in Lex's voice conveyed the pure fact that he felt that no other woman in the world could match up to Serena and she could feel it, those words making her body tremble and her heart beat faster. She could feel the height at which Lex placed her and above that, she could feel the anger and resentment he felt from his own father choosing another woman.

"Just what kind of woman could ever compare to you, mother!? And how could dad even go after someone after everything you've done for him?! After you being there for him?! How could any woman be better than my mother?!"

The sheer rage that Lex was feeling for his mother's situation came out fully and deeply. Deeply within Serena's heart, ever since that incident, she never had anyone say to her that she was right. All she lived was with wrecking guilt and the only reason she didn't fully lose her own family back then was because Lex took the courage to get them back, not her, not she the mother who should have stood as the pillar.

Ever since that incident, she felt alone, as if she was walking in a dark abyss without an end in sight, the only thing of light were her children and now Serena felt an immense sort of connection to her child, the raw passion and belief that she wasn't at fault going forth to soothe Serena's mind and heart in ways she thought were never possible.

"M-My so-son!"

Serena cried out as her hands came forth and pulled her son into her embrace, tightly holding him for dear life. Just the fact that she had hurt her son filled her body with so much pain she never thought she could experience something more painful, yet with that was tinged with the bittersweet feeling of her son's raw passion and forgiveness for her. For Serena right now, nothing else mattered, only her son in her embrace.

"How could dad do this to you even though he knew about your situation!"

Lex mumbled in anger as he hugged his mother back, his words surprising Serena who with widened gaze pulled Lex back to look at his face, his face still with his anger for her but above that, the first question that came from her is.

"How do you know about that?!"

She asked in alarm, the situation of Serena's being known only to a few of her closest people and to her questioning Lex looked right into his mother's eyes, his eyes reflecting all his love and respect for her, seeing those pure eyes with such feelings for her, devoid of any malice or ulterior motive, Serena felt her heart tingle in a different way, a sort of feeling that slowly bloomed into her lonely heart, this feeling being one that didn't rise even for her husband.

"That's my secret, mother!"

Lex replied with a cheeky grin, his words being with a certain mystery and smile that slowly got a little chuckle from Serena. To this, with a smile, Lex went forth to hold his mother's lips and make it into a smile, such that he with an innocent smile replied.

"My mother is best only when she is smiling!"

"Oh… son!"

Serena felt her heart shake with such intense love that she hugged Lex tighter and started to place kisses all over his face. Right now all she wants is to keep her son safe and happy, nothing else is the dream for her.

"You mommy is sorry!, she will never try to hurt you again!... sorry!... sorry!... sorry!... sorry!... sorry!... sorry!... sorry!... sorry!... sorry!... sorry!... sorry!..."

Serena kept repeating the same words to which Lex in the hug slowly wiped away the tears from his mother's face as he replied with a bright smile.

"I know mom, I know you will never hurt me and all I want is for you to be happy."

The words kept ringing like sweet bells of heaven in Serena's mind as she hugged her son tighter, the chains that held all over her heart breaking away. She no longer felt suffocated or constrained, cause no matter what, she has her son with her, one that would seem to never give up and hate her and now all she wishes for is to live up to all the love and respect her son has for her.

Thus slowly the image of her husband, the obsession of her mind, started to crack away, the crack spreading larger and larger covering over everything as even the feelings she harbored started to distort, the emotions of love slowly becoming hazy for Serena, the position of her son and the love for her son has transcended everything.

And she hasn't forgotten the fact that she had hurt the most precious thing in her life because she had let her emotions take over her, thus slowly the image of love for her husband, the very one that almost caused her to lose the one thing she ever wanted in life started to get duller and duller.
