No one expected that Eve Sherman would actually do this.

Liam Langdon was dumbfounded and tried to snatch Eve Sherman’s phone.

Eve hung up the call, standing there coldly as she stared at Liam and the four colleagues gossiping behind him.

“You guys sounded so confident earlier.

I’ve recorded everything.

When the police ask, I hope you can testify for me.

Thank you.”

After she finished speaking, she turned around amidst everyone’s incredulous gazes, walked a couple of steps, then looked back at Liam, “Oh, and Liam, remember to contact your friend.

He’s also a witness.”

Liam was completely thrown off by her actions, opened his mouth but couldn’t utter a word, and could only watch as she returned to the office.

“Liam, she’s gone crazy, what now?”

“What do we do now?

How could we possibly testify for her?!

How could she be so shameless?”

“If President Sutton finds out, I might lose my job!

Liam, you said it, you handle it later, we won’t get involved!”

Liam was utterly dumbfounded.

If the police get involved, it will surely reach President Sutton, and he will learn the truth about the rumors Liam spread about Eve Sherman at the company.

Wouldn’t that confirm his guilt?

If they ask about his friend, his friend would lose his job for speaking recklessly.

Damn, that wretched woman, she’s ruthless!

Lucas stared at Eve Sherman in shock, almost boring holes into her face.

“What’s up?” Eve Sherman asked quietly, casually organizing her schedule for the day.

Lucas finally exclaimed, “Wow, Eve Sherman, you handle false rumors about you with such boldness, you’re extraordinary.”

Eve Sherman’s eyes turned cold.

She hadn’t wanted it to come to this, but with people like Liam, unless you show them some real power, they won’t stop messing with you.

Making up seedy rumors about her and President Sutton every day, how was she supposed to continue working?

Lucas nodded in approval, “I believe after what you did, they won’t dare say anything again.

You’re incredible.

I need to recommend your method to a friend of mine, she’s young and beautiful but having a tough time at work.”

When Stellan Sutton arrived at the company, he noticed the tense atmosphere.

Especially in the secretary’s office, where everyone acted as if they’d seen a ghost, avoiding him like the wind.

He frowned, gesturing for Claire Lynn, the only one who didn’t shy away.

“Lynn, what’s going on?”

Claire Lynn cast a disdainful glance at Liam, “Nothing major, President Sutton, I believe the issue has been resolved.”

By now, Liam was sweating profusely, frantically sending resumes to other companies.

He couldn’t stay here anymore.

That Eve Sherman, he initially wanted to give her a hard time, but she turned the tables on him!

He wasn’t going to let this go!

When Stellan Sutton returned to his office, Eve Sherman thought for a moment, then decided to follow and explained what had just happened.

“I’m sorry, President Sutton, for any trouble I’ve caused.

I apologize.”

She’d thought Stellan Sutton would be upset, but he merely nodded nonchalantly, “You did well.

If everyone were as tough as you, such rumor-mongering wouldn’t happen.”

Eve Sherman initially wanted to ask what he was doing at the civil affairs bureau yesterday but reconsidered, feeling she might be overstepping.

Instead, she briefly reported the schedule and left.

Once outside, Lucas immediately pulled her aside.

“Did President Sutton scold you?”

Eve Sherman shook her head blankly, “No.”

“That’s good.” Lucas sighed in relief, “I tried to hold you back earlier, my heart was in my throat.

Stellan’s been in a bad mood lately, it’s best not to upset him.”

Eve frowned, “What happened?”

Lucas cleared his throat, “President Sutton had a falling-out with his wife, they’re arguing over divorce.

Shh, I’m telling you this so you be careful not to provoke him these days, and keep it confidential!”
