The moment Wen Chi opened her eyes, she saw a zombie in a suit, with slicked-back hair, standing right in front of her with its mouth wide open.

The flesh on its face was constantly falling off.

Wen Chi was so frightened that she did not even dare to breathe.

The stench of rot from the zombie assaulted her brain.

Delicate and pampered, Wen Chi had never suffered like this before.

In her previous life, she had only starved to death at home.

She had never even seen the ruler of this disaster—the zombie.

Now that she had seen one, Wen Chi only wanted to die on the spot.

She had already died once—why did she have to go through this again?

Wen Chi widened her eyes and stared at the zombie in front of her, only to realize that it did not attack her for a long time.

Instead, it pushed a human leg toward her.

Wen Chi looked around and, sure enough, saw where the leg had come from.

Suppressing her nausea, Wen Chi forced a bitter smile and said, “Zombie Big Brother, you’re too kind. You should keep that for yourself.”

“I’m not used to your kind of cuisine.”

The zombie seemed to be thinking about what Wen Chi meant and did not move for a long time.

Taking advantage of the Pompadour Zombie’s hesitation, Wen Chi immediately stood up and prepared to run.

However, the moment she turned around, she saw an endless sea of zombies standing behind her.

They all stared at her, then broke into identical grins.

When others smiled at you, it would be rude not to smile back.

Wen Chi forced another smile and said, “Dear Zombie Big Brothers and Zombie Big Sisters, I’m skin and bones—I don’t even have any meat on me. Please spare me!”

After saying that, Wen Chi dashed toward a hotel across from her.

After entering the hotel, Wen Chi realized that the zombies had not followed her. Just as she was feeling puzzled, she turned her head—

And saw an old man in a hotel uniform. The flesh on his body had nearly fallen off, leaving only bones barely holding him together.

This was what it truly meant to be skin and bones.

The old zombie led a group of uniformed zombies, standing in neat rows.

They all bowed toward Wen Chi.

Some zombies lost another piece of flesh from their faces as they bowed.

Wen Chi could not help but worry about them.

At this point, Wen Chi had no choice but to realize that these zombies did not seem to attack her.

She cautiously stretched out her arm. The zombies remained motionless.

Still bowing.

Wen Chi could not help but praise them, “Such great professional standards!”

These zombies must have been employees of this hotel when they were alive. Even after turning into zombies, they still maintained their work routines.

They were practically destined workers.

“Well then, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be going now!”

Wen Chi cautiously took two steps forward, grabbed an elevator key card from the front desk, and quickly ran into the elevator.

Strangely enough, in the middle of the apocalypse, this hotel still had electricity.

The elevator attendant zombie glanced at the key card in Wen Chi’s hand,

and professionally pressed a button for her before stepping into the elevator and standing behind her.

Even though she knew the zombies would not attack her, Wen Chi still felt afraid.

And disgusted.

“Ding~”

A pleasant sound rang out as the elevator arrived.

Wen Chi immediately stepped out and headed toward the room she had picked.

But as soon as she exited the elevator, she saw that every room had a uniformed zombie standing at its door.

Like guardian spirits.

This really was a zombie hotel!

Wen Chi looked at her room number—414.

Under the watchful eyes of the zombie, she swiped her card and entered the room in less than three seconds.

After entering, Wen Chi immediately went to the bathroom and looked into the mirror.

The face reflected in the mirror looked like snow kissed by moonlight.

Her eyelashes were thick and long, casting faint shadows beneath her eyes when lowered. She should have looked fragile,

but the slight upturn of her nose and her rosy lips added a touch of enchanting beauty.

Beneath her pale skin, faint bluish veins could be seen, like icy patterns winding around porcelain—beautiful to the point of being almost eerie.

Even phrases like raven hair, red lips, and skin whiter than snow were not enough to describe her.

But the most mesmerizing feature was her pair of pale pink pupils—mysterious, drawing people in irresistibly.

Wen Chi stared at her pupils. Before she died in her previous life, her eyes had been normal.

If she remembered correctly, only zombies had changes in their pupil color.

But zombie pupils were usually pure black or white.

Wen Chi opened her mouth wide at the mirror. As expected, she saw inhuman teeth—her canine teeth had grown slightly longer.

Her fingernails, however, had not changed much.

If the zombies downstairs were version 2.0,

then she should be version 1.0.

No wonder those zombies did not attack her.

They were the same kind as her

Wen Chi accepted this fact in less than a second.

Because this was simply too great!

She did not have to be afraid of zombies, and she had not become ugly.

So far, she did not feel any urge to eat humans. When that Pompadour Zombie had offered her a human leg earlier,

she had only felt disgust.

Wen Chi lay in the bathtub, leisurely taking a bath.

Beside her were red wine and small desserts.

Having starved to death in her previous life, Wen Chi had only one thought—she would eat every kind of delicious food in the world!

She would make up for everything she had missed!

After finishing all the desserts in one go, Wen Chi stepped out of the bathtub and changed into the hotel’s bathrobe.

She had no choice—Miss Wen, who loved cleanliness, could not stand wearing her previous clothes anymore.

She planned to go out later to do some shopping and sweep up supplies.

Wen Chi glanced at the electronic clock in the bathroom: 4:00 PM, September 1, 2025.

It was the third day after the apocalypse began.

At this time, most people had sufficient supplies and chose to stay at home, waiting for rescue.

Only a small portion of people went out to search for food.

So this was the best time for Wen Chi to gather supplies.

As night gradually fell, Wen Chi went out.

She went out to eat.

This time, she was much more relaxed than before. Ever since she learned that she was a half-finished zombie,

she even felt a bit of familiarity toward other zombies.

Because this was a commercial street, there had once been a huge flow of people—so now there were a lot of zombies.

As soon as Wen Chi stepped outside, she saw the Pompadour Zombie again. But this time, it did not offer her a human leg.

It simply followed behind her.

Wen Chi ignored it.

She first entered a shopping mall, went into a dessert shop, happily chose her favorite sweets, and sat down to enjoy them.

After eating her fill, Wen Chi packed everything neatly into bags. These were all perishable items, and she planned to store them in the hotel refrigerator.

That way, they would last longer.

Besides, Wen Chi did not want to come out often—she just wanted to lie on the hotel’s big bed and be a couch potato.

Afterward, Wen Chi went to a convenience store. She grabbed all the snacks she liked—potato chips, chocolate, bread, spicy sticks, ice cream, biscuits, and drinks.

She ended up filling two large bags.

The consequence was—

Wen Chi could not carry them anymore.
