Jayjay’s POV 🖤💜 For a few seconds…
Nobody said anything.
The room was completely silent.
I was still holding the guardianship papers against my chest.
Percy stood beside me, his hand resting gently on my shoulder.
But I could feel it.
The questions were coming.
And then— Keifer: “Wait.” His voice broke the silence.
He looked directly at Percy.
Keifer: “Who the hell are you?” Percy raised an eyebrow.
Keifer: “And why are you so close to Jay?” Another voice immediately followed.
Eman: “Yeah…
how do you two even know each other?” Kit: “And why does she call you Percy like that?” Calix: “More importantly, how are you even alive?” Blaster: “Everyone was told you died four years ago!” Edrix: “Then where have you been all this time?” Eren: “And why didn’t you contact anyone?” Mayo: “How did you survive the accident?” Josh: “And how did you get those partnership papers?” Denzel: “Who exactly is Mr.
Willson working for?” Felix: “Why would Mariano Crop give you authority over something this important?” Rory: “And why are you protecting Jay like she’s the most important person in the world?” David: “Something doesn’t add up.” Everyone started talking at once.
Questions came from every direction.
My head started hurting just listening to them.
I looked at Percy.
He looked completely calm.
Almost too calm.
Percy: “One question at a time.” Everyone became quiet.
Percy looked around the room.
Then he began.
Percy: “Jay was the one who saved me from the accident.” Everyone looked at me.
My fingers tightened around the papers.
Percy continued.
Percy: “She found me near a river.” Aris immediately frowned.
he looked at me Aris: “What were you doing there?” Percy looked at him.
Percy: “she was with her friends.” Aris: “Then what happened?” Percy’s expression darkened slightly.
Percy: “The accident happened.” He paused.
“And I didn’t come back.” Gemma covered her mouth.

Percy: “Because my mother didn’t let me.” The room went silent again.
Keifer: “What?” Percy: “She spread the news that I was dead.” felix immediately stepped forward.
felix: “Why would she do that?” Percy’s jaw tightened.
Percy: “Because the accident wasn’t normal.” His voice became colder.
“Someone wanted me dead.” A few people exchanged shocked looks.
Percy: “They wanted my property.” Angelo: “What property?” Percy looked at him.
Percy: “That’s something I can’t tell you right now.” Angelo: “You expect us to believe that?” Percy: “You don’t have to.” He calmly folded his arms.
Percy: “You asked a question.
I answered it.” Angelo became silent.
After a few seconds, he asked another question.
Angelo: “Then how did you get the partnership papers from Mariano Crop?” Percy: “Mr.
Jaspher Mariano gave them to me.” Angelo’s eyes widened.
Jeena immediately asked— Jeena: “How do you know him?” Percy looked directly at her.
He didn’t answer.
He simply ignored her question.
Jeena: “I’m asking you how you know Jaspher Mariano.” Percy remained silent.
I could see the irritation growing on his face.
Someone from the room spoke again.
Eman: “But Percy…
you should have at least contacted us.” Percy looked at him.
Percy: “I couldn’t.” Keifer suddenly shouted— Keifer: “WHY?!” I immediately turned toward him.
Jayjay: “DON’T SHOUT AT HIM!” I pointed my finger at Keifer angrily.
Jayjay: “Don’t you dare shout at him!” Percy immediately wrapped one arm around my shoulders.
Percy: “It’s okay, baby.” He gently squeezed my shoulder.
Then he looked directly at Keifer.
His expression changed.
Percy: “Because my entire body was paralyzed for three years.” Everyone froze.
Percy: “I couldn’t move.” “Couldn’t walk.” “Couldn’t even take care of myself.” His voice became quieter.
Percy: “That’s why I couldn’t contact anyone.” Everyone stared at him in complete disbelief.
And then— Everyone: “WHAT?!” My heart tightened.
Percy continued.
Percy: “For three years, I was completely dependent on someone else.” His eyes slowly moved toward me.
Percy: “And Jay took care of me.” The room became silent.
Percy: “She took care of everything.” “My medicines.” “My food.” “My clothes.” “My recovery.” “My emotional breakdowns.” “Everything.” Angelo’s face suddenly changed.
Angelo: “Wait…” He looked at me.
Angelo: “But Jay has been living with us for the last seven months.” His eyebrows furrowed.
“Before that, she was living with Tita Jeena.” I couldn’t help it.
I looked at Percy.
He looked at me.
And we both laughed softly.
Angelo: “What’s so funny?” Percy shook his head.
Percy: “Do you really think Jay was living with you because you brought her here?” He gave a bitter smile.
Percy: “No.” He looked directly at Angelo.
Percy: “I was the one who sent her here.” Everyone became silent.
Percy: “I thought my friends…” His eyes moved toward Yuri, Keifer, and Aris.
“…and her family…” His gaze landed directly on Angelo.
“…would take care of her.” His voice became softer.
Percy: “She didn’t want to leave me.” My eyes immediately filled with tears.
I remembered that day.
The day I had to leave him.
Percy: “But I promised her she would be okay with all of you.” He looked around the room.
Percy: “I trusted you.” Silence.
Nobody moved.
Percy: “But you didn’t take care of her.” His voice trembled slightly.
“You broke her even more.” My eyes dropped.
Percy: “She started believing that she didn’t deserve love.” Nobody looked up.
Percy: “She started believing that everything bad happening to her was her fault.” His eyes moved toward Keifer.
Percy: “Keifer wanted revenge against Aris.” Keifer’s face immediately changed.
Percy: “jay was the person aris hated the most.” He pointed toward Keifer.
Percy: “they both don’t even like each other.” “But you still chose to hurt Jay.” Keifer lowered his eyes.
Percy continued.
Percy: “And Yuri…” His gaze shifted toward him.
Percy: “You forced an engagement on her because you wanted to win against Keifer.” Yuri remained silent.
Percy: “You threatened her.” His voice became colder.
Percy: “You told her…” He looked directly at Yuri.
Percy: “‘You can love Keifer, but when the wedding day comes, you and your heart will belong to me.
You don’t have a choice.'” The room became deathly silent.
Percy: “Right, roaster?” Yuri didn’t answer.
He simply looked down.
Percy laughed bitterly.
Percy: “I am right” Angelo suddenly looked confused.
Angelo: “What do you mean he forced the engagement?” Percy looked at him.
Percy: “Do you really not know?” Angelo: “Know what?” Percy tilted his head.
Percy: “Are you really that dumb?” I couldn’t stop myself.
I laughed.
Angelo glared at both of us.
Angelo: “Don’t talk to me like that.” I immediately crossed my arms.
Jayjay: “Then stop behaving like that.” Angelo looked at me.
Jayjay: “Just think about your company.” I took a step forward.
Jayjay: “Everything was going perfectly well until the end of May.” “Fer Corp had strong profits.” “You had several major projects.” “The company was financially stable.” I paused.
“Then suddenly, at the beginning of June…” My eyes narrowed.
“Your company came dangerously close to bankruptcy.” Everyone looked shocked.
Jayjay: “Now ask yourself…” “Why did Himanichis suddenly decide to help Fer Corp when your company was already on the verge of collapse?” Angelo’s expression changed.
Jayjay: “And why did their help come with one condition?” I looked toward Yuri.
“An engagement.” Angelo slowly turned toward Yuri.
His eyes filled with pure anger.
Angelo: “You…” Yuri remained silent.
Angelo looked back at me.
There was confusion in his eyes now.
Percy looked at me and gave a small smile.
Percy: “They really don’t know you.” I shook my head.
Jayjay: “They really don’t have to.” Percy looked at the bag hanging from my shoulder.
Percy: “Remove your bag.” I looked at him.
Jayjay: “What?” Percy: “It’s heavy.” Despite everything…
I smiled.
I removed the bag from my shoulder and placed it on the table.
Percy then turned back toward everyone.
Percy: “Jay called me on the 2nd of June.” Angelo’s eyes widened.
Percy: “She told me about the situation with Fer Corp.” “I immediately found it strange.” Percy paused.
“Then, on the fourth of June, I received information about the engagement.” His expression became serious.
Percy: “I was furious.” “I wanted to come here.” “But Jay refused.” Everyone looked at me.
Percy: “She told me she trusted all of you.” His voice became emotional.
“She believed that at least her family would ask for her choice.” “She believed someone would ask her if she wanted the engagement.” “But nobody did.” He looked at everyone.
Percy: “She waited.” “She waited until the engagement.” Silence.
Nobody had anything to say.
Percy: “And you all failed her.” My eyes filled with tears.
I quickly looked away.
Then Percy looked toward Keifer.
Percy: “And Keifer…” Keifer slowly looked up.
Percy: “For your information, Aris never left me.” Keifer’s eyes widened.
Percy: “He tried to save me.” “But it was impossible.” He paused.
“So I pushed him out of the car to save him.” Keifer immediately looked toward Aris.
His eyes filled with tears.
Keifer: “Why didn’t you tell me, Aris?” Aris looked away.
Percy’s voice suddenly rose.
Percy: “BECAUSE YOU NEVER GAVE HIM A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN, YOU IDIOT!” I flinched slightly at his sudden shout.
Percy immediately looked at me.
His expression softened.
Percy: “Sorry.” “I was just angry.” I gave him a small smile.
Jayjay: “I know.” Percy took a breath.
Then he turned toward Aris.
Percy: “And Aris…” Aris looked at him.
Percy: “Why do you hate her?” Aris didn’t answer.
Percy: “just Because she stabbed you?” Jeena suddenly gave a mocking smile.
Jeena: “Just because?” Percy’s head snapped toward her.
His eyes became dangerously cold.
Percy: “SHUT THE FUCK UP!” Everyone froze.
Percy: “If you utter one more word, I swear I’ll bury you alive.” Jeena’s face went pale.
Jeena: “You can’t talk to me like that.” Percy gave her a cold smile.
Percy: “Oh.” He took a step toward her.
Percy: “I just did.” Jeena immediately went silent.
I touched Percy’s arm.
Jayjay: “Just ignore her.” Percy looked at me.
Then he nodded.
Percy: “Okay.” He turned back toward Aris.
Aris finally spoke.
Aris: “You don’t know what it was like.” His voice trembled.
“I was on the verge of death.” “I was scared.” He swallowed hard.
“I was terrified of her.” He looked at me.
“You can’t understand that.” Percy’s eyes moved toward me.
Suddenly— BZZZZT…
BZZZZT…
Percy’s phone started vibrating.
Everyone’s attention shifted toward him.
He looked at the screen.
I frowned.
Jayjay: “Who’s that?” 🤨 Percy answered the call.
Percy: “Hello?” He listened for a few seconds.
Then he looked at me.
Percy: “He wants to talk to you.” He held the phone toward me.
Percy: “Go to your room.” I nodded.
Jayjay: “Okay.” I took the phone from him.
I slowly walked toward the staircase.
But before going upstairs…
I stopped.
I turned around.
Percy was still standing in the middle of the room.
Surrounded by all those people.
Yet somehow…
My eyes found only him.
Jayjay: “Perse…” He looked at me.
I hesitated.
Jayjay: “Don’t go anywhere, please.” His expression immediately softened.
Percy smiled.
Percy: “Never.” I smiled back through the tears in my eyes.
Jayjay: “Promise?” Percy nodded.
Percy: “Promise.” I finally turned around and walked upstairs.
One step.
Then another.
But for the first time…
I wasn’t walking away from someone.
I was walking toward a future that finally belonged to me.
And downstairs…
Percy was still there.
Waiting for me.
Just like he always had.
