After reading for a while, Yun Hui’s stomach began to rumble incessantly.
Both Bai Yueming and Meng Yao heard this “grand and sweeping,” “soul-stirring” sound.
Yun Hui lowered her head and put away her book.
“Here.” Bai Yueming handed over a small packet of toast.
Yun Hui frantically waved her hands. “No, no! I’ll go to the cafeteria to eat. It’ll be a good chance to get familiar with it.”
Meng Yao glanced at Bai Yueming’s toast. “Yueming, I want some too~”
Bai Yueming stuffed the toast back into the cabinet and gave her a look—no way!
“Hmph!” Meng Yao pursed her lips, turned on her computer, and started watching a TV drama.
Yun Hui hid the book under her pillow, grabbed the card the assistant guide had given her, and left the dorm.
Haicheng University’s campus was huge, with four cafeterias alone.
She opened her phone, wanting to ask the assistant guide which cafeteria had good food.
But after hesitating for a moment, she gave up.
She was afraid the assistant guide would find her troublesome. If the other person was busy… that would be too rude.
A few blocks away from Haicheng University was the sea. Occasionally, a few seabirds would fly over the campus.
Dusk had arrived, and the orange sunset slowly gathered on the horizon.
That gentle ray of light fell squarely on her face, as if destined for something to happen.
“Classmate! Get out of the way!” Hearing a voice from the soccer field behind her, Yun Hui instinctively dodged to the left.
A soccer ball brushed past her stray hair as it flew by.
Her gaze followed the ball, and she saw a figure running from the other side of the field.
Thump!
Not far away, a “senior” arched her foot and made a long pass, sending the ball skimming over Yun Hui’s head again.
That figure!
So cool! So powerful!
“Are you okay?”
The forward who had passed the ball to the wrong person walked up to Yun Hui.
“I’m fine…” Yun Hui waved her hand, instinctively stepping back.
She never once looked directly at the forward.
“Sorry, sorry!” he apologized.
Yun Hui frowned. “You didn’t hurt me, no need to apologize. I’m sure you didn’t mean to.”
The forward said something, but by then, Yun Hui was no longer paying attention.
She was searching the entire field for the woman who had kicked the ball back.
Looking around, she couldn’t find the senior who had just kicked the ball. All she could see were boys exercising.
A hint of disappointment flashed in her eyes.
That figure couldn’t be mistaken—such a beautiful running posture… graceful and powerful… her waist must be amazing…
“Ugh! What am I thinking?” Yun Hui muttered to herself.
The forward looked at Yun Hui, confused. “I wasn’t thinking anything! I just wanted to apologize.”
Seeing the forward still standing in front of her, Yun Hui instinctively stepped back. “No, no… I wasn’t talking about you, I was talking about myself…”
In an instant, her face flushed red again.
She had been so focused on searching for that figure that she completely forgot someone was in front of her.
By then, many people on the field were looking at her. Yun Hui tightened her grip on the meal card and, without waiting for the forward to react, fled the scene on her own.
She didn’t want to be the center of attention. She hated it!
The bewildered forward stood in place. “What? I was just apologizing. Why did it feel like I was confessing to her? Huh?”
A teammate by the goal shouted, “Are you done? We’re waiting for you to play!”
The forward paused for a moment, didn’t overthink it, and ran back to the field.
Ten minutes later.
Yin Han Sou stood with her arms crossed, leaning against a streetlamp, exuding a strong sense of detachment. Girls passing by glanced at her and were frightened by her icy gaze.
“That forward, come here.” Yin Han Sou spoke coldly.
The forward ran over.
“Did you see a girl just now? The one who almost got kicked in the head.”
“Oh, she went…”
The forward looked around but couldn’t find Yun Hui.
“That’s strange? She disappeared in an instant?”
He felt the woman before him didn’t look like a student, more like a school teacher or administrator. Although dressed in athletic wear, her demeanor was that of a seasoned veteran, her face perpetually indifferent.
“Alright, you can go back now.” Yin Han Sou turned and left, expressionless.
If she couldn’t find her today, so be it.
This trip to Haicheng University was actually to prepare for the construction of a new teaching building.
Yin Han Sou was the largest investor in Haicheng University, holding as much as eighty percent of the shares. It could be said that Haicheng University was essentially hers.
Her company was far from Haicheng University. To finalize the project as soon as possible these days, she had bought a house nearby for easier access to the campus.
She often went for night runs. Since there were no suitable running spots near Haicheng University, she simply exercised on the school’s track.
It was during this night run that she spotted her prey.
A very cute little prey.
In the distance, the sun hung round and full like a ripe persimmon waiting for someone kind to peel and taste it.
Yin Han Sou carefully scanned the track. After confirming she hadn’t found that little one, she put on her headphones and continued her night run.
Second Cafeteria.
Yun Hui carried a large bowl of noodles to a corner and sat down quietly.
She frowned as she ate slowly.
People in Haicheng sure can eat. This bowl alone is bigger than my face.
Even at seven o’clock, the cafeteria was still crowded. Yun Hui avoided the crowd and found a less busy ramen counter. Not knowing what to order, she randomly pointed to a ramen that looked good.
Yun Hui had a habit: she didn’t read the names of food when eating.
She would check the production date when buying snacks—if something interesting happened on that day, she would buy it without hesitation.
Then she would devour it all.
That feeling was like swallowing the good mood of that day all over again.
So lovely~
Half a bowl down, and her stomach was already full.
[Assistant Tutor: Tomorrow’s class schedule is sent to you. Remember to find the classroom. If you don’t understand, you can ask your roommate.]
[Yun Hui: Okay.]

Yun Hui was carefully looking at the class schedule when someone sat down across from her.
“Are you alone?” It was Bai Yueming.
Yun Hui was a bit confused: “Yeah, what’s up, Yueming?”
Bai Yueming found it amusing: “What you ordered is a couple’s set. Can your little body handle it?”
Yun Hui was shocked, her mouth hanging open.
She didn’t read the name when ordering!
“The auntie didn’t say…” Yun Hui pursed her lips.
Bai Yueming raised an eyebrow: “Don’t you read the names? It’s clearly written: Couple’s Ramen.”
“I can’t eat anymore.”
“Leaving food uneaten will deduct points.” Bai Yueming reminded.
Now, Yun Hui’s face was full of panic.
What to do…
What else could she do? Force herself to eat!
Seeing Yun Hui’s troubled expression, Bai Yueming softened.
“Get me a bowl. I’m hungry too.” Bai Yueming looked at Yun Hui.
The latter’s face slowly flushed red.
“People might misunderstand…”
Bai Yueming: “We’re just roommates.”
Silly Yun Hui, always overthinking! No wonder you have no friends!
“Okay, I’ll go get it.”
Yun Hui lowered her head, timidly making her way toward the cabinet, looking like a child caught doing something wrong.
Bai Yueming saw right through Yun Hui at a glance but didn’t call her out.
Every book on the shelf unmistakably revealed that she—was gay.
“Here.” Yun Hui gently placed the bowl on the table, arranging the spoon according to her preference—turned upside down with the chopsticks resting on its back.
Her every movement exuded a gentle softness, as if everything she did was tender and delicate.
Her new roommate was a soft, gentle girl.
“Are you socially anxious?” Bai Yueming transferred the remaining noodles into her own bowl, casually taking a bite.
Yun Hui kept her head down, fingers gripping her pants as she stubbornly insisted, “I’m not socially anxious.”
She wanted to leave a good impression on Bai Yueming, so she abruptly lifted her head to look at her, only for her gaze to drift elsewhere again.
…
Bai Yueming sipped her soup, her eyes fixed intently on Yun Hui. “Then why don’t you dare look at strangers?”
“I… I think staring at others is impolite. I also don’t like it when people stare at me… I hate that feeling.”
The gentle, innocent girl before her was like a piece of cold mountain jade—if the icy layer wasn’t melted away, the exquisite jade within would remain forever unseen.
Bai Yueming simply ate her noodles quietly, saying nothing more.
Yun Hui didn’t lift her head either, her mind filled with the graceful figure she had glimpsed earlier.
Though she couldn’t see the face, that silhouette… was truly captivating.
Yun Hui waited until Bai Yueming finished eating, then dutifully helped her take the bowl to the dish return area.
Just as she turned back, Bai Yueming followed her.
“Thank you,” Yun Hui said, glancing at her.
Bai Yueming smiled slightly, looking down at Yun Hui, who was half a head shorter. “Go prepare the books for tomorrow’s classes. Don’t fall behind.”
Yun Hui nodded and followed Bai Yueming back to the dorm.
Whenever she walked with someone, she would instinctively trail behind them.
A habit she had developed at some point.
Along the way, she couldn’t help stealing glances at the sports field.
After scanning carefully, she still didn’t see that figure.
Could she have misremembered?
“Is there something on the sports field?” Bai Yueming turned back.
Yun Hui hurried to catch up. “I’m just getting familiar with the place!”
Elsewhere.
Yin Han Sou, who had just finished her evening run, emerged from the equipment room. She felt a gaze fixed on her.
But the sensation vanished as quickly as it came, like a passing breeze—fleeting and shapeless.
The setting sun had faded, and night draped over the treetops. The sports field was bathed in light, wrapped in a clear yet hazy glow.
Her gaze slowly settled on the girls’ dormitory building.
Is someone watching me from over there?
