“I’m here, Sister.” Yun Hui’s voice was soft.
Yin Han Sou gently touched her cheek. “Close your eyes.”
Yun Hui stood still and obediently closed her eyes.
Just as Yin Han Sou was about to act, the rose in her hand suddenly dominated her vision. She wanted to toss it aside, but the vivid red hue persistently disrupted her thoughts.
She lightly stroked the rose petals, her eyes shimmering with tenderness.
“Yun Hui, open your mouth.”
She delicately bit off a petal, the delicate texture dissolving in her mouth as a sweet flavor filled her senses. Then, she brought the petal to Yun Hui’s lips.
Yun Hui widened her eyes in slight surprise, instinctively accepting the petal held between Yin Han Sou’s lips as a gentle, fragmented breeze brushed past.
Yun Hui’s heart trembled intensely.
In that fleeting moment mediated by the petal, they gazed at each other, silently conveying the rhythm of their heartbeats.
The faint fragrance of the rose remnants lingered in the air.
Yin Han Sou turned her face and kissed Yun Hui, her warmth instantly enveloping Yun Hui entirely. She covered the little one’s ears with her hands and closed her eyes to listen to the piano melody floating in the air.
This night was truly intoxicating, as if the clouds and wind themselves were drunk.
So utterly captivating.
Wrapped in Yin Han Sou’s tenderness, Yun Hui instinctively reached out, grasping for anything she could hold onto. She tugged at Yin Han Sou’s tie—pulling her even closer.
“Yun Hui.” Yin Han Sou’s voice was slightly husky as she released the kiss and loosened the tie.
“What is it, Sister?” Yun Hui asked, blushing as she looked at her.
It wasn’t enough… She wanted to kiss her sister more!
Nestled in Yin Han Sou’s embrace, Yun Hui took a deep breath.
Sister’s scent was so fresh… She really loved it…
“Do you feel I haven’t spent enough time with you? Do you want me to stay longer?” Yin Han Sou pressed against Yun Hui’s temple, greedily inhaling her scent.
Yun Hui, this little cake, was initially just “sampled” by her, but now she was about to claim it entirely, and soon it would even sing “Happy Birthday” to her.
Thinking of this, Yin Han Sou couldn’t help but curl her lips into a smile.
Yun Hui bit her lower lip. “I want Sister to stay with me as much as possible because… it’s truly hard to bear. I know! I know you’re busy, so… as much as possible.”
Warm orange light spilled over her face, leaving Yin Han Sou utterly mesmerized.
Yun Hui…
I won’t let you down.
Yin Han Sou extended her right arm, wrapped it around Yun Hui’s legs, and lifted her up. She gently pressed Yun Hui against the street wall. “Hold me tight, don’t fall.”
Blushing, Yun Hui wrapped her legs around Yin Han Sou’s waist and lightly circled her arms around her fair neck.
“I’m… holding tight.”
Yun Hui turned her face slightly, loose strands of hair gently falling over the tip of her nose.
With the tie undone, the collarbone beneath her shirt was faintly visible.
Her affectionate gaze, cool yet “burning” breath, seemed to whisper to Yun Hui of her endless infatuation.
“Actually, I missed you too. These past few days, I regretted even more not giving you my contact information. You really make me…”
Before Yin Han Sou could finish, the little one in front of her leaned in and kissed her proactively.
Her arms tightened around Yin Han Sou’s neck, as if she wanted to devour the sister she had longed for.
By the time Yin Han Sou regained her composure, Yun Hui was once again at a disadvantage.
The piano melody flowed gracefully, its notes weaving into a tapestry of unrestrained affection. The faint lamplight illuminated the tender emotions of love, as if their eternity was destined to be expressed through this brilliant piano melody.
Beep beep beep!
The sound of an electric scooter’s horn came from behind.
A young college student was riding a shared electric scooter down a small slope. Seeing the two girls entwined, he instinctively honked his horn.
As the scooter passed the flower shop and descended the slope, his eyes remained fixed on the two of them!
Yun Hui suddenly opened her eyes, meeting Yin Han Sou’s face, cold yet tender.
Yin Han Sou reached out and gently closed Yun Hui’s eyelids, continuing to lose herself in the moment.
She knew someone was watching them from behind, but what did it matter? She only wanted the world with the person before her; everything else was irrelevant.
Until…
Until the screech of brakes pierced the street.
The small electric scooter crashed to the ground with a thud, the sound of metal scraping against pavement shattering the street’s silence.
Other shopkeepers on Art Street poked their heads out to see what had happened. Even the dreamlike piano melody had paused.
Yun Hui turned her face away, her cheeks flushed and her expression dazed as she looked at Yin Han Sou. “Did he… crash because he was watching us?”
Yin Han Sou smiled softly at her. “Probably.”
Yun Hui, her face still red, glanced back at the person—thankfully, he wasn’t hurt.
The college student was still sitting on the ground, staring blankly at his scooter, which had slid away from him. Because it was on a slope, it slowly slid downward, forcing him to scramble after it awkwardly.
Seeing the other shopkeepers casting glances their way—even the flower shop sister was smiling at them—Yun Hui whispered, “So many people are looking at me… at us… Let’s get down…”
Yin Han Sou shook her head, gently stroking Yun Hui’s hair. “Silly, bury your face in my chest and no one will see you.”
Yun Hui glanced shyly at Yin Han Sou before obediently burying her face in Yin Han Sou’s embrace.
“Yun Hui.”
“Hmm?”
Yin Han Sou paused her hand, which was gently stroking Yun Hui’s hair. “It’s past nine o’clock now.”
Nestled in the warmth of her embrace, Yun Hui murmured softly, “What about it? It’s past nine.”
Yin Han Sou reminded her, “You need to clock in.”
This time, Yun Hui clung tightly to Yin Han Sou, unusually so. “Sister, clocking in isn’t important. It’s not important at all right now. I just… I just want to stay with you for a while.”
“When did you become so clingy?”
“Because…”
“What is it, dear?”
Yun Hui’s voice faltered. “When you’re not around, I never feel safe. Seeing other girls sweetly holding hands and being affectionate with their partners makes me sad… I get jealous…”
“You won’t feel that way now, and you won’t in the future either. I promise.”
Hearing these words, Yun Hui felt warmth spread through her heart. It took her a long moment to speak again. “Am I… ugly? I get jealous of others, and I can’t stand seeing others happy… Other good-hearted girls are so generous, but I’m so narrow-minded…”
Yin Han Sou gently patted Yun Hui’s back, her voice tender. “This side of you is real, and I love it.”
She knew Yun Hui had experienced difficult things in the past. Thinking about how the once proud little Yun Hui had become this gentle and soft version of herself also made her feel sad for her.
Yun Hui’s face was warm, like a heating pad pressed against Yin Han Sou’s body.
“You’re so good to me, sister…”
Yin Han Sou raised an eyebrow. “I’m only this nice to you. If it were anyone else, it might not be the same. There are plenty of people gossiping behind my back.”
Her employees had grown accustomed to talking about her in private.
She didn’t care. As her father once said: sometimes harsh words are like a knife—they can pierce the hearts of the weak, but on those with resilience, they leave only invisible marks.
“I’ll curse them back for you!”
Yin Han Sou chuckled softly. “Alright, how would you do it? Call them fools?”
Yun Hui huffed. “My insults are really nasty!”
She looked at Yun Hui. “I haven’t settled the score with you for photoshopping me into a pig yet.”
“I… I just wanted to…”
Yin Han Sou wrapped her arm around Yun Hui and led her away from the street. “We’ll settle that later. For today, you’re staying at my place. After all, you’re already a bad student skipping clock-ins—no need to worry about explaining this day away.”
