At the dinner table, Sara was setting up the dine and the kids excitedly gazed at the food. The aroma made them hungrier.
Arthur went to take a shower. After Arthur had left in the evening, they were still a bit afraid but with the gun he had left, they felt a bit secure. And they got over the fear slowly and returned to normal.
Sara was done with setting up the dine and distributing the food. They waited for Arthur to come out since it would be rude to start eating without him.
The kids had been hungry for a while and were getting impatient to wait. Judy, as perspective as always, understood why Sara told them not to eat but her mentally impaired little brother was sulking heavily.
But their wait did not last long because Arthur came out of the bathroom quickly. Their gaze turned to him. Urging him to come and sit quickly. Even though they did not say it out loud.
Arthur looked over to them for a moment and became confused as to why they were looking at him like that. But he quickly understood. He wanted to brush his hair as well but decided to do that later or the kids might eat him alive.
He swiftly sat down and they all started eating.
The food was delicious. Everyone enjoyed it. But the Anastasia family couldn’t help but feel something amiss. After eating Arthur’s cooking today, it left a trace on their tongue. His cooking was that delicious. But they got over it quickly and started to fully enjoy the dish.
After everyone was done eating. Sara took out the dessert she had bought earlier today and gave a slice to everyone.
The apple apple was delicious. No wonder Sara wanted Arthur to taste it. He enjoyed it very much
But after eating half, he felt like he reached a limit. Anymore would be forcing himself. So he passed the half to Sara to eat.
She took it without much fuss. She agreed to this after all.
Everyone at the dining table chatted a bit as they ate dessert. Arthur would get included as well. After a while, finding the perfect moment, Arthur decided that he would tell her what he had in his mind.
"Ahem. Everyone, remember I told you guys that I have a few proposals to make? I would like to talk about that and hope you guys listen attentively. First off, we can not guarantee that an incident like today will not happen again. The perpetrator might be different. Or could be the same. But whatever the case, we are in danger."
Arthur started. Everyone nodded. Their expressions are serious. Prompting Arthur to continue.
"So here’s what we can do. We change the location where we live. Either go to a different part of the city, or change cities altogether. I’m in support of it later. Because the neighbourhood we live in is also not the safest. So I believe we should change cities and start anew. But I of course understand if you are reluctant. This place holds many memories of your family. But I would ask you to consider this, which is more valuable, your life or the memories."
After that, Arthur went quiet. All of these were aimed at Sara. The kids would have to go with whatever their sister decides. And he could tell that they were very inclined to go to a new city. Especially Judy.
She understood that this city was basically a backwater city in the country. There were many better cities with more opportunities for them to grow. Although she wasn’t in the age where she could take advantage of them, living in one certainly won’t hurt. And the matter of safety was also a major issue.
"You’re right. I agree we need to change cities. Which city should we go to?"
Sara abruptly said. Her voice filled with determination. All the other three looked at her in utter shock. Not expecting her to agree so easily. All of them HaD thought she would be a bit reluctant since she was the one who spent most of the time here.
Sara gazed at the shocked expressions. She understood Judy and Jude since they have known her for a while but Arthur as well? It has barely been TWO days! Was she that easy to figure out?!
"Why are you guys looking at me like that?! What do you even think of me?!"
But despite understanding, she could not help but feel a bit wronged. Even little kids thought of her as some kind of fool. That was a direct hit to her dignity as the big sister!
"Aaa. A hopeless romantic?"
Arthur said casually. His earlier, almost indistinguishable serious voice returned to his usual flat voice.
Judy snapped her head towards him in shock. She could not help but think that it was a very poetic insult. She took pride in vocabulary because she is an author, but it seemed she still had a lot to learn.
Judy turned her little head back to Sara, looked Sara in her eyes with all seriousness.
"Same as he said."
She delivered her punchline and immediately got a bonk in the head.
Jude felt like he needed to say something as well. But seeing Judy get punched, he stopped himself from saying what he was about to. His chin trembled in fear. But he pulled himself together and looked at Sara with an ugly smile on his face.
"Um... an angel?"
He said, sweating a bit. Sara looked at him with a sharp gaze and snorted. Arthur looked at the shenanigans of the siblings and waited until they were done.
"Anyway, to answer Sara, I plan to go to Academy City. In Melbourne State. It is the world famous one. The best of the best gather there. The kids will have a lot of competition as well as opportunities. And the safety risks are very low. And it will be an opportunity for me as well since I need to graduate from a good university."
Arthur laid down his reasonings. But of course the main reason was that he could find women with a beauty score of 90 more easily. And he could get rich faster.
But hearing that Arthur still was a student, Sara frowned involuntarily.
