Su Zhaotang brushed her hair aside and picked up her phone from the bedside.

Thus, the two faces were now facing each other on the screen.

“Well, I’ll hang up then?” she stammered.Full novel: Spoiled Beauty: Mr. Zhou’s Darling — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Zhou Lingjing nodded.

“You go ahead with your work. It’ll take me some time to drive over to your place, so no rush.”

“Mm-hmm, I’ll end the call then. Drive safely.”

Su Zhaotang rarely showed such thoughtfulness in reminding him.

“Alright, see you soon.”

After saying that, he waited for Su Zhaotang to end the video call.

As soon as the call ended, she covered her face with her hands and then flopped onto the mattress, rolling around.

Su Zhaotang: Ahhhhhhh, why! My sleeping face was exposed in front of him, wuwuwuwu, so embarrassing!

She screamed frantically in her heart.

The room was so quiet that even the sound of breathing seemed to vanish.

After who knows how long…

“Forget it, never mind. I’ve been embarrassing myself in front of him since we were kids. One more time won’t make much of a difference, and one less time won’t matter either.”

Su Zhaotang comforted herself.

When she finally got herself together and went downstairs, her mother looked at her in surprise. Su Mom glanced up at the clock on the wall.

“You woke up on your own after a nap today? This is the first time you didn’t need someone to call you.”

Su Zhaotang lazily yawned and slowly made her way to the sofa, where she half-collapsed into a seat.

She explained, “Zhou Lingjing called me and said he’d come over later to take me to buy wedding rings. I couldn’t just sleep until he arrived, could I?”

Upon hearing this, Su Mom perked up, grabbing her hand and asking excitedly, “Really? He’s taking you to buy wedding rings?!”

Su Zhaotang was exasperated by her mother’s reaction.

“No, Mom, why are you more excited than I am? It’s as if you’re the one buying the ring,”

she complained.

“Don’t talk nonsense,” Liu Xinruo scolded, giving her a light slap.

Su Zhaotang remained unfazed, casually picking up a strawberry from the table and nibbling on it slowly.

When Zhou Lingjing arrived, he walked in slowly from outside, dressed in a long black coat. His features were handsome and elegant, his posture straight and tall.

Upon seeing Su Zhaotang’s grandfather and grandmother, Zhou Lingjing was humble and respectful.

“Sorry for the intrusion. I haven’t formally visited you both yet. This is a small token of my appreciation.”

As he spoke, he placed the health supplements he had brought on the table. He had asked his assistant to rush back to the old family home to fetch these precious supplements from his grandfather—items the old man rarely gave away.

Su’s grandmother beamed with joy.

“Oh, you didn’t have to bring anything! Coming over is enough. Don’t be so formal.”

Seeing him standing, she quickly urged, “Don’t just stand there. Come, come, have a seat here.”

The grandmother patted Su Zhaotang’s shoulder. “Scoot over a bit.”

“There’s plenty of space over there!”

Her grandmother shot her a look.

“Alright, alright,” she obediently shifted to the side a few times.

Zhou Lingjing watched with a faint smile and calmly walked over to sit beside Su Zhaotang, their bodies now close together.

She immediately felt Zhou Lingjing’s intense presence drawing near, along with a faint woody fragrance—much like the man himself, refined and elegant.

Su Mom smiled and handed him a cup of tea. “Here, warm yourself up.”

Zhou Lingjing accepted it with both hands and nodded politely in response. “Thank you, Mom.”

Su Zhaotang muttered quietly beside him,

“He says ‘Mom’ more naturally than I do.”

He calmly took a sip of tea and then placed the cup back on the table.

He leaned back slightly, then suddenly lowered his head, bringing his lips close to Su Zhaotang’s ear.

“That ‘Mom’ didn’t sound as natural as when Zhaozhao called me ‘husband’ back then.”

After speaking, he straightened up, returning to his usual cool and detached demeanor.

It was as if the person who had just spoken wasn’t him at all.

Su Zhaotang’s face flushed with embarrassment. Without a word, she glared at him and turned her head away.

Grandfather Su watched their little exchange with a faint smile curling at the corner of his mouth. He cleared his throat.

“Lingjing, now that you and Zhaozhao have registered your marriage, when do you plan to move in together?”

Zhou Lingjing immediately understood the old man’s meaning.

He replied with a gentle smile, “Today, I was actually planning to take Zhaozhao to buy wedding rings and bring up the topic. Since you’ve asked, I’d like to discuss it with you.”

Then he turned to look at Su Zhaotang, his gaze deep and meaningful.

“I plan to have Zhaozhao move in with me in the next few days, so we can spend more time together and nurture our relationship.”

Su Zhaotang was stunned. She certainly hadn’t expected things to move so quickly.

“Hahaha, good, good! The sooner the better. That way, my great-grandchild will be on the way soon!”

Grandfather laughed heartily.

“Grandpa!” Su Zhaotang exclaimed, both embarrassed and annoyed. What was he thinking, talking about great-grandchildren already!

“No need to be shy, it’s bound to happen sooner or later,”

Grandmother chimed in with a smile, looking teasingly at her granddaughter.

“Alright, we won’t keep you any longer. Don’t you two have things to do? You should get going,”

Grandfather said.

They should leave more time for the young couple to be together.

“Alright, I’ll take Zhaozhao with me now. I’ll visit again another day,” Zhou Lingjing said politely as he bid farewell.

When he stood up, he naturally took Su Zhaotang’s hand and led her out. Su Zhaotang followed him in a daze.

In the evening, Zhou Lingjing and Su Zhaotang arrived at a renowned luxury jewelry store.

Located in a bustling commercial district, the store occupied a spacious area with an excellent location. Its exterior was adorned with elegant lighting, showcasing the store’s grandeur and refined atmosphere.

As soon as Zhou Lingjing and Su Zhaotang walked in, the sales staff could tell from their attire and demeanor that they were big spenders—every piece of clothing they wore was clearly high-end.

Two sales assistants warmly approached them.

“Hello, sir and madam. What kind of jewelry are you looking for today?”

The display cases were neatly arranged with various pieces of jewelry, each meticulously designed and uniquely crafted. Under the soft lighting, the gems emitted a captivating glow.

Zhou Lingjing browsed as he spoke, “Show us diamond rings. Just bring out your store’s limited-edition designs. No need to show me anything else.”

He didn’t want Su Zhaotang wearing a ring that could be found everywhere.

Su Zhaotang, who had loved shiny jewelry since childhood, was completely captivated, too engrossed to pay any attention to Zhou Lingjing.

Hearing this, the sales assistant’s eyes lit up, her smile as genuine as could be.

She immediately opened the display case and brought out several limited-edition, pre-order wedding rings, beginning her introduction to Zhou Lingjing.

“This diamond ring features a classic six-prong setting, ensuring both the stability and beauty of the diamond. The diamond is 3 carats, each stone crystal clear, symbolizing the purity of your love.”

“The unique aspect of this diamond ring lies in its band design, which incorporates intricate openwork craftsmanship, exuding a romantic feel. It’s 5.20 carats, and the symbolism is particularly lovely.”

“And this one is the luxury wedding ring. This ring features a dazzling pink diamond as its main decoration, with intricate patterns connecting the diamonds.

Moreover, this pink diamond is of exceptionally high purity and is currently considered one of our store’s prized treasures.

Additionally, this wedding ring also comes with a matching men’s band, which is relatively simple and elegant in design compared to the women’s version.”

With three rings laid out side by side, it was truly difficult to choose.

Zhou Lingjing pulled Su Zhaotang, who had been enthusiastically looking at other jewelry nearby, over to the counter. His long, strong fingers gently cupped her cheeks, making her face puff up adorably.

He turned her face toward the counter, directing her gaze to the wedding rings before them.
