Su Zhaotang snapped back to her senses and forcefully pulled his hand down.

She gave his arm a slap.

“Well, aren’t you quite something,” he remarked, noting she was the first person who dared to slap him.

“You may be small, but you’ve got quite the nerve,” Zhou Lingjing said, his gaze sharp as he looked at her.

“We’re legally married, Mr. Zhou. If you dare hit me, be careful—I’ll sue you for domestic violence,” Su Zhaotang shrugged, a smug look on her petite face.

She knew Zhou Lingjing wasn’t the type to resort to violence; the Zhou family upbringing was very strict.

“Enough with the nonsense. Go look at the rings,” Zhou Lingjing said lazily, leaning against the counter.

Su Zhaotang lowered her head and examined them one by one. Compared to the two white diamond options, the pink diamond caught her eye.

Noticing her gaze lingering on the pink diamond ring,

the salesperson tactfully spoke up, “Madam, if you like it, you can try it on.

This is a limited edition. If you decide to purchase it, we’ll send your finger measurements to headquarters and have a new ring custom-made to fit you perfectly—one of a kind.

And this design won’t be sold to anyone else.”

Su Zhaotang picked up the ring and examined it carefully before slowly sliding it onto her ring finger.

Coincidentally, it fit perfectly. The ring sparkled on her slender, fair finger, like a delicate rose in full bloom.

“It’s as if it was tailor-made for you—even the size is just right!”

the salesperson exclaimed in amazement beside her.

Su Zhaotang excitedly showed her hand to Zhou Lingjing.

“Does it look good?”

“Not bad. It suits you,” Zhou Lingjing replied, not wanting to dampen her enthusiasm.

He was telling the truth.

His evaluation was sincere, and his expression showed no hint of indifference.

Su Zhaotang gleefully played with the ring on her finger, her eyes bright as she looked at Zhou Lingjing.

“Let’s go with this one, then. It’s pink and pretty.”

“Alright, wrap it up,” he signaled to the salesperson.

Since the size fit, there was no need to go through the trouble of having it remade.

“Of course, sir. Please proceed with the payment here.”

While one salesperson packaged the ring, another brought out the matching men’s ring for Zhou Lingjing.

He opened the box and put it on directly. Admittedly, the design was simple yet luxurious, and he was quite satisfied.

“Thank you for your purchase. The total is 15.8 million,”

the salesperson said with a standard smile, looking at the two of them. How could she not smile? They had just maxed out her sales quota in one go!!

These two were practically her money gods!

Zhou Lingjing paid smoothly, and the two of them left the store.

In the evening, the bustling commercial street appeared especially dazzling and radiant, awash with shimmering lights. Crowds of people bustled through the lively district.

To be honest, this was Su Zhaotang’s first time visiting this area since returning to the country. Compared to before she went abroad, it had changed dramatically.

“Is there anywhere else you’d like to go now, or anything you’d like to buy?”

Zhou Lingjing stood tall and straight beside her in his overcoat, looking down at Su Zhaotang, who seemed so small in his eyes.

Noticing a strand of her hair caught in her coat collar, he reached out and gently pulled it free, smoothing it for her.

Su Zhaotang took it for granted, having been cared for like this since childhood, and didn’t think much of it.

She stood there obediently, letting him fix it.

Her eyes darted around mischievously as she looked at Zhou Lingjing with an expectant expression. “How about you take me to watch a movie? A horror film?”

Zhou Lingjing narrowed his eyes slightly. “Are you sure? A horror film?”

She nodded firmly.

Actually, Su Zhaotang really enjoyed watching horror movies, especially in a cinema setting where the atmosphere was intense.

It was just that she was the type who was both scared and loved watching them, but needed someone to accompany her.

She had begged Zhao Xi to go with her before, but that guy always refused, so she had been itching to go for a long time. Now that she finally had someone to accompany her, she definitely couldn’t pass up this opportunity.

“Alright, let’s go then. You pick the movie,”

Zhou Lingjing stood there quietly, his hands casually tucked into his coat pockets, his demeanor relaxed and elegant.

“You’re so nice~” Su Zhaotang said in an exaggerated tone, then lowered her head to fiddle with her phone.

In such a bustling commercial street, there was a cinema almost every few hundred meters, so they didn’t need to drive.

Zhou Lingjing wrapped an arm around her shoulders, guiding her as they walked.

Because this little one was playing with her phone and not watching where she was going.

Walking side by side, with Zhou Lingjing’s tall and handsome figure, the vibrant neon lights outlined their striking silhouettes, attracting the attention of many passersby.

Their elegant demeanor and outstanding appearance made people unable to resist glancing their way, and even a few young girls whispered among themselves or secretly took photos.

After picking up the tickets and settling into their seats in the theater, Su Zhaotang let out a cheerful “yay.”

Zhou Lingjing found her reaction rather baffling. “Is watching a horror movie really worth getting this excited about?”

“You don’t understand. This is the first time someone has accompanied me to watch a horror movie in a cinema. Before, I always dragged Mother or my younger brother to watch at home, but they never came with me.”

As she spoke, she seemed to feel a bit indignant, pouting her rosy lips, which shimmered under the cinema lights, making one want to lean in and kiss them.

“Ahem,” as if realizing his thoughts had strayed, Zhou Lingjing cleared his throat lightly, then casually lowered his hand.

In the dimly lit cinema, he sat back comfortably in his seat, his long and powerful legs crossed lightly, hands clasped over his knees.

Leaning slightly, his back against the seat, his relaxed expression appeared particularly content.

Su Zhaotang, on the other hand, was filled with excitement, her eyes shining brightly as she stared at the screen.

Suddenly, she quietly picked up her phone, opened the camera, held two movie tickets in her left hand, adjusted the angle, and took a photo.

With a “click,” Zhou Lingjing glanced over.

“Oh, I’m just commemorating the moment,” Su Zhaotang blinked at him, speaking in a sweet tone.

“I didn’t say anything,” Zhou Lingjing chuckled softly.

Next, she opened her social media feed, edited a post: “Secretly watched a movie, shh!”

Finally, she added the photo she had just taken and posted it with one tap.

Little did she know that this photo would cause quite a stir in her social circle, though Su Zhaotang was still unaware of it at the moment.

After finishing, she put down her phone and immersed herself fully in the movie.

As the movie was about to start, the atmosphere around them gradually grew tense. Trailers played on the big screen, and the lights in the theater dimmed.

As eerie background music began to play, her heartstrings slowly tightened.

The movie started, the screen dark, with only eerie music and the sound of the audience’s breathing audible. Whenever a scary scene appeared, screams would erupt throughout the theater.

Su Zhaotang couldn’t help but let out a few screams herself. Later on, Zhou Lingjing simply held her hand, which was better than her constantly clutching her own clothes.

He didn’t really feel much about this kind of film—it was all artificially made, and he couldn’t grasp what was so scary about it.

As the plot progressed, the horror atmosphere grew increasingly intense. A sudden scare made Su Zhaotang scream out loud, and she threw herself onto Zhou Lingjing, tightly clutching the clothes on his chest.

Zhou Lingjing held her in return, comforting her by stroking her head.

“It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s all fake.”
