Сhаpter 13: Dеlibеrаtеlу Teasing Неr
After rеturning home, Хiе Zоngхun сlеanеd Раоpaо and patted its hеаd. “All сlеаn nоw. Yоu cаn рlаy with it for а whilе befоre taking a bаth.”
This wаs said to Wen Yаo.
Wеn Yaо sаt on the сarpet, rubbing Раорao’s big еаrs, аnd instinсtively аsked, “Whаt about аfter the bаth?”
Xie Zоngxun stood nоt fаr аwaу, glаncing at her. “Аfter thе bаth, you рlay with mе.”
Wen Yао gеntly tuggеd the puрpy’s еаrs, rоlling them into a little ball, and glared bасk at him. “You’re not sеriоus.”
Xie Zongхun’s сhest trembled slightly, but he made no sound.
Wen Yao played with Paopao downstairs for quite a while until she grew a bit tired. She then sprawled on the sofa, her eyes fixed on the ceiling, blinking slowly.
“Come upstairs, time to sleep.”
Wen Yao gave an “oh,” lazily turned over, and didn’t move again.
“I’ll come down and carry you.”
Wen Yao immediately flipped over and sat up, her little face scrunched up in displeasure. “I’m coming right away.”
Sleep, sleep—what’s there to sleep at only eight o’clock? Last time, he sent her a message at three in the morning. Was he really someone who slept that early? Wen Yao really didn’t want to go upstairs at all.
“Paopao, your dad is so annoying.”
Xie Zongxun, seeing that she hadn’t come up, turned and stepped out of the room, just in time to hear these words. The girl’s tone sounded both aggrieved and helpless.
He didn’t say anything and turned back into the room.
Wen Yao picked up the small cake from the coffee table, glanced at the bag beside it, and tossed it aside.
Jerk.
When Wen Yao entered the room, the sound of running water came from the bathroom—Xie Zongxun was taking a shower. She arranged the cakes neatly on the small coffee table, lined them up, and took a few pretty photos.
It was like some ancient emperor selecting a concubine, examining each delicious little cake one by one.
Which one to eat first? Wen Yao hummed a light tune, her delicate little face beaming with a smile.
After hesitating for a long time, she finally chose one and took a bite. Just then, Xie Zongxun emerged from the bathroom.
This time, he actually remembered to wrap a towel around himself. Wen Yao glanced at him but ignored him, continuing to eat her cake.
Xie Zongxun rubbed his temples and asked, “Are you planning to finish them all tonight?”
Wen Yao hummed in agreement, somewhat conflicted. “I want to eat every single one.”
Suddenly, a mischievous thought crossed her mind. “If I can’t finish them, you can help me eat them.”
“Is that likely?”
She already knew Xie Zongxun wouldn’t agree. By now, Wen Yao understood that this man only did what he wanted to do. Anything else he didn’t like, he simply wouldn’t do—tyrannical and domineering.
She took two more bites, left the remaining half of the jar on the table, and put the others away. Then she stood up and walked to the bed, asking him, “Where are my pajamas?”
He had said last time that he would prepare them for her. She really didn’t want to be held by him like that again.
Xie Zongxun’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly. “In the wardrobe. Get them yourself.”
He was about to say they were in the wardrobe next door when Wen Yao opened his closet door.
Inside, one half was filled with plain white, gray, and black clothes and pants, while the other half was occupied by brightly colored dresses, jackets, and the like.
The two types of clothes each took up half the space, clearly distinct in style and neatly arranged.
Xie Zongxun also looked over and only then realized his wardrobe had undergone a dramatic change.
He had asked the housekeeper to put away some clothes prepared for Wen Yao in the wardrobe, but he hadn’t expected them to end up in his own. For a moment, he sat on the edge of the bed, stunned.Wen Yao took out a set of pajamas. Even the pajamas were pink—not a light pink, but a very eye-catching shade.
Wen Yao frowned. “Why do you always like this kind?”
Xie Zongxun snapped out of his thoughts and replied, “It’s not that I like it.”
Her clothes were indeed all chosen by him. Although the selections were made somewhat hastily, the overall style still reflected his preferences.
Wen Yao gave him a puzzled look. If he didn’t like it, did that mean she did? She hadn’t said anything, and she usually wore light-colored clothes. Although she didn’t exactly dislike this kind, it felt too flashy, and she always felt a bit uncomfortable in it.
Xie Zongxun walked over, took out his own set of dark gray pajamas, and without any hesitation, removed his towel and put on the clothes.
Even though she already knew he had no shame, Wen Yao was still defeated by his utterly calm expression. How could he be so shameless? He wasn’t wearing anything at all.
Xie Zongxun looked at the two blushes on Wen Yao’s face, raised his eyebrows slightly, and spoke in a flat tone.
“I like seeing you wear it. It looks good on you.”
“It makes you look delicate and tender.”
Wen Yao took a deep breath, grabbed the pajamas from the bed, and went to take a shower. As the hot water poured down, the bathroom filled with steam. Her face was burning hot, and Xie Zongxun’s words kept replaying in her mind.
When she came out, the blush on her face hadn’t faded, and the ends of her hair were still slightly damp, with a few droplets clinging to them. Xie Zongxun glanced at her—he wasn’t wrong.
“Come here.”
He ordered her again. Wen Yao clenched her fingertips and walked over, her eyelashes lowered and trembling uncontrollably.
“Afraid to look at me? Am I that scary?”
Xie Zongxun lifted her chin and chuckled softly.
When she was obedient, she was truly obedient, but her temper was also quite something. Still, a little temper now and then added some flavor, so he didn’t mind too much.
“Speak.”
The soft flesh on Wen Yao’s face was squeezed together, soft and bouncy like jelly. Xie Zongxun couldn’t resist kneading it a few more times, and in just a moment, it turned red from the rubbing.
“A little scary.”
Wen Yao didn’t fully understand Xie Zongxun’s temperament, but she figured it was better not to be too absolute, so she settled for a middle ground. It wasn’t just “a little scary”—whenever his face turned cold, she couldn’t help but feel afraid, especially when he showed no expression at all.
“Hey, stop rubbing. Will my face swell?”
Wen Yao pushed Xie Zongxun’s hand away in annoyance, but she was still trapped in his arms, not daring to move. Xie Zongxun just ruffled her hair, no different from how he would ruffle Paopao.
“I didn’t bite you. Why would it swell?”
“You’re not allowed to bite me anymore. The marks on my neck might be seen by others.”
Wen Yao remembered the awkwardness from last time. Thankfully, it was Chi Ying who saw it. If her other two roommates had noticed, she wouldn’t have been able to explain it clearly.
She didn’t want anyone to know about her relationship with Xie Zongxun, and from the looks of it, he didn’t either. If it were exposed, he might lose his temper again.
“Alright, I won’t bite there. I’ll bite somewhere others can’t see, okay?”
Xie Zongxun was in a fairly good mood tonight, so he was willing to indulge her a little and say something else. It didn’t matter if he had to coax her a bit—as long as she listened to him in bed, he didn’t really care about much else.
The person in his arms kept her eyes downcast, not even lifting her head. Her fingertips unconsciously gripped his forearm, her nails digging deeper and deeper, clearly showing how nervous she was.
“Didn’t you say you needed my help? What kind of help?”
Hearing this, Wen Yao immediately looked up. Her flushed face was filled with seriousness, and her tone softened, carrying a hint of pleading.”I want a photo of you, the kind with your signature on it.”
“Oh, I see.”
Xie Zongxun hadn’t expected that the favor she mentioned would be this. Without giving her a clear yes or no, he deliberately kept her hanging.
