Viktor walked calmly towards them, both hands in his pockets, his face devoid of any emotions.
“Shona, do you dare to say a word to her?”
Shona took a few steps backwards.
‘Why is he here?’ She thought.
Viktor stopped in front of Zora who was still on the floor, he looked down at her and smirked.
“How are you doing my soon to be wife?”
Zora glared at him.
“I’d rather die than marry you.”
Viktor raised an eyebrow.
“Really, you shouldn’t say things like that, have you forgotten our deal?”
He squatted lower to look at Zora’s face.
“Oh, I almost forgot you have one week and two days, but are you sure you’ll still have enough to pay me back?”
Zora closed her eyes, a single tear rolled down her cheek.
“Viktor, did you do all those things just to ask for a payback?”
Viktor smirked.
Zora continued.
“Did you really love me back then or was it just an act?
Did you really pay for aunty’s surgery just to bind me in marriage?”
Her eyes opened again as she looked into the eyes of the man she was once crazily in love with.
When Viktor looked into her eyes he couldn’t think of a better answer to give her.
Was he really in love with her?
Or should the question be rephrased, did he fall out of love?
He swallowed hard, he couldn’t hold her gaze for long so he looked away and said.
“Every guy wanted you because of your beauty, so naturally I did all of that to bind you in marriage, if you won’t marry me you’ll have to pay me back, isn’t that right?”
Zora smiled bitterly.
“So you never loved me?”
Viktor stood up.
“Who would love a woman who has nothing to offer?”
“So why do you want to marry me?”
Viktor smirked.
“Why else?
To warm my bed of course.”
Zora’s lips trembled slightly, but because it was dark no one could tell.
“Have you forgotten who Valery is?”
“If she could be so heartless to her own daughter then she won’t bat an eye on you, you better not get yourself involved.”
With that said he walked to his car, got in and drove off.
Zora’s eyes were still fixed on Viktor’s car, she couldn’t blink.
The revelation of the monster in Viktor was something Zora never saw coming.
A low thunder roared, a few seconds later rain started to fall.
Shona who had been quiet all along finally spoke.
“Zora, it’s raining, let’s get into the car.”
But Zora heard nothing, her eyes were still fixed on the road even though Viktor’s car had long since disappeared.
She still hoped she would see him come back to tell her that he did not mean any of the things he said.
“Zora… Zora, you’ll get sick if you stay under the rain for long.”
Shona tried to help her up but was pushed away by Zora.
Shona staggered a little.
When she finally got her balance she looked at Zora who was still on the floor under the rain and had refused her help.
Her eyes stung a little as if something had entered them, they became wet and tears streamed down her face.
Even she believed that was the reason for her tears, but it was obvious that she was crying.
Her friend was really pitiful.
She opened the car door to bring out an umbrella but could not find it.
She went to the other side of the car, opened the door and searched for the umbrella.
Because the rain had become heavy she did not hear the sound of cars driving at speed.
When she finally found the umbrella she opened it and went to cover Zora, but Zora was gone.
Shona broke into a cold sweat, she looked around but could not find Zora.
Her grip tightened around the umbrella.
Her breathing turned shallow and uneven.
“Zo… Zora!”
“Zora!!”
There was a nearby fueling station.
She walked over, described Zora’s appearance and asked if they had seen her, but they all said no.
Shona did not know what else to do so she called the police and reported it to them.
Meanwhile, in a black BMW sat Zora looking out the window quietly.
When she was being put into the car she did not struggle at all, which made the men stunned.
She kept looking ahead until she was put into the car, dripping wet from the rain.
Alistair gazed at her at intervals, but each time he looked at her she was still in the same position, not blinking, not saying a word, just staring out the window.
Meanwhile, Doctor Patrick followed Alistair outside the room.
“When?” He asked in shock.
“Do you want details of when?”
Doctor Patrick realized his mistake and shook his head vigorously.
“No.”
“I was just wondering…”
He couldn’t complete his sentence because of the cold glare Alistair gave him.
“Just give me the paper to sign.”
Doctor Patrick cleared his throat.
“I’m sorry, I can’t do that.
I have to confirm from the patient.
I know you’re the father but if we abort the child without her approval it might lead to far more complications than you think.”
“It’s better we explain the situation to her so that she’ll understand the dangers of wanting to keep the baby.”
Alistair thought for a while.
What Doctor Patrick said made sense, so he agreed.
They went to the room only to find it empty.
Alistair asked the bodyguards who stood outside if they had let her out.
They told him she never came out of the room.
Doctor Patrick then found the window open with the drip stand positioned next to it.
“I think she jumped out through the window.”
Alistair clenched his fist.
“What kind of woman jumps out of a window for no reason?”
Doctor Patrick sighed.
“Maybe she heard you mention aborting the child.”
Alistair snorted.
“Tsh, stupid.
She’ll abort no matter what.”
Doctor Patrick shook his head, not knowing what to say to Alistair.
Alistair took a few of his bodyguards to search for Zora.
They drove a few miles away from the hospital before they spotted Shona, Zora and Viktor.
Alistair clenched his fist when he saw Zora on the floor, but he did not order his bodyguards to move.
They waited until Viktor left before moving in to bring Zora to the car.
By that time Shona had gone back inside her car.
Alistair had expected her to struggle, but Zora simply let them carry her into the car like a lifeless doll.
