Alistair answered the call.
And honestly he was curious to know what was happening on Patrick’s end.
“What’s the problem?”
Patrick’s voice rang out from the phone speaker.
“She agreed to the abortion, I’ve given her the pills, in an hour the cramps may start.”
Alistair’s eyes narrowed.
“She agreed without any hesitation?”
There was silence for a few seconds before Patrick spoke out.
“Actually… she broke down in my office, but after some talk with her she became fine.”
Alistair leaned back on his chair.
“Did she mention anything in particular?”
“Sorry, I can’t share any other thing with you.”
Alistair nodded in understanding and then the call ended.
In a dim basement sat a lady, legs crossed as she looked at the man before her like a pile of shit.
The man knelt down before her, sweat beads all over his body as if he was bathed with water.
He dared not utter a word, and begging would only cause him more harm than good.
She finally decided to speak.
“You swore an oath with your life, and you broke that oath.”
She stood up slowly from the chair and then strolled down to the long table at the other end of the room.
“You’ve sinned, but I’m a very merciful person aren’t I?”
She tilted her head to look at the man who was still on his knees.
“Yes you are, and I’m grateful for that.”
“Ha, ha!
You flatter me.”
A wide smile appeared on her face.
“How about I give you a reward?”
She turned back to the table that was filled with different kind of weapons.
Her hands went over them calmly as if she was petting her pets, the smile on her face got wider.
She then slowly picked up the tactical dagger, her hands went through the sharp edge.
“This is my favorite…”
Then she dropped it down but her eyes still lingered on it.
“But I won’t use it, I’m giving you the liberty to choose your own death.”
“So tell me your choice.”
The man tilted his head slightly to look at her.
“I’ll go for the pistol.”
She scoffed but the smile still remained.
“What a coward, you choose such an easy death.”
Her hand went to the pistol as she picked it up, she opened her palm, one of the dark guards handed a towel to her and disappeared immediately.
She used the towel to clean the invisible dust on the pistol.
Then she walked and stood in front of the man, the man closed his eyes.
“I don’t like that, open your damn eyes.”
The smile still remained on her face.
The man opened his eyes, and immediately he did, the first bullet was shot on his shoulder.
She smiled when she saw the blood dripping down and staining his shirt.
“Sorry about that, I just wanted to see if the bullets were okay.” Then the sound came.
“Bang!
Bang!”
She released the last two bullets without batting an eye.
“Bastard.”
She then looked at her side,
“Send the package to his family.”
Then she walked out of the basement to the lobby where a man sat waiting for her.
When she got there before the man would greet her she said,
“I’m not ready to see anyone.”
But the man still said what he wanted to say because he knew her mood would change when he tells her the news he brought.
“It’s about your sister!”
Her back stiffened, then she tilted her head to look at him. Enjoying the story? Read on at g.com.
“What about her?”
“Her condition has worsened…”
Her eyes darkened.
“Isn’t the damn girl with her?”
The man shook his head.
“No she isn’t..”
“Valery.”
She was about to curse, but before she could a familiar voice called her, her eyes went towards the door and there she saw him standing, his brown coat fitted him well.
her once black face suddenly took a brighter color.
She did not bother with the young man who had come to give her reports, the man himself knew that it was time for him to leave even though he was not directly asked to.
Meanwhile Zora had just gone through painful cramps and slept immediately after the cramps subsided.
The next morning she woke up and her body felt slightly weak, honestly what woke her up was the TV in the VIP room.
When she opened her eyes the first thing she saw on the television made her mouth go dry.
The news about the gunshots at the banquet was what was being discussed.
“According to those who were present at the banquet, no one was killed, but reports say that many people were taken away by the masked men.”
“The government has promised that those who are being held hostage will return with no harm whatsoever.”
“Also many commend the brave young lady who tried her best to save as many people as she could, although her name has not been confirmed yet and no one had seen her, but many people suspect that she must have been taken away by the masked men.”
Zora turned the TV off, she had forgotten about the incident at the banquet, her eyes went to the small table next to her but she did not see what she was looking for.
She tried to get down from the bed, but then she remembered her legs.
She had to wait until a nurse came to check on her, that was when she asked,
“Where is my phone?”
The nurse told her she did not know anything about her phone.
Zora bit down at her fingers, each time the door opened her eyes would open hoping it would be either Patrick or Alistair.
It continued for several hours.
Finally Alistair walked in, but before she could ask for her phone, he threw something on her.
It was a new phone, she looked at him.
“We were not able to find your phone, so we registered another number for you.”
Zora immediately opened the phone and signed into her cloud and backups, all her contacts returned.
She quickly checked her messages, the first message that popped up made her heart drop.
