In the room stood a tall lady with a very sharp expression, when she saw Zora her face became even worse as if she had just seen a human plague.

Next to her stood Viktor and a hefty man, who Zora also recognized to be her mother’s bodyguard.

The lady upon seeing Zora walked to her and a slap landed on Zora’s face.Full novel: Strong holds — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“How dare you still be alive?!”

Her voice cutting through the air.

“If anything… anything at all happens to my aunty I’ll make sure you pay dearly!”

However the next second another sound of a slap was heard again and this time it came from Zora.

Zora’s expression also sharp.

For twelve years she had thought she’d never see the arrogant face of her cousin, who knew that this day would come?

Her mother had always favoured Sandra, gave her more attention but treated Zora like a slave, because of her mother’s attitude Sandra always looked for ways to be rude to Zora, however Zora wasn’t the type to let people ride over her, in fact the only person who had ever succeeded was her mother, Valery.

“Don’t think because I’m on a wheelchair that I won’t do anything.

Mother isn’t here to save you so you better put yourself in check.”

The bodyguard wasn’t surprised to see the two fight, even though it’s been years and both ladies have grown to be women yet nothing changed.

Sandra’s eye twitched as she took a step back.

One thing she knew was that no matter how strong she was, she could never beat Zora in a fight.

Zora’s gaze went to the bodyguard, Mr.

Matthew.

“It’s been years, Mr.

Matthew.”

Matthew acknowledged her with a nod but said nothing else.

Zora cast a glance at Viktor.

“And you, what are you doing here?”

Viktor frowned.

“What do you mean by that question, have you forgotten why I’m needed here?” Visit g.com for the full chapter.

No she hasn’t forgotten, his presence was indeed needed, her auntie’s sickness was a special kind, and the medication needed was a rare and extremely expensive one, the doctor had told her that a good Samaritan always brought it when it was needed, however Viktor claimed to be the Samaritan, which Zora was now doubting to be true.

The medication was always brought every month, but the month had not come to an end, her auntie’s sickness flared up suddenly, and Viktor wasn’t there, her aunty was immediately transferred to this hospital, so if what the doctor told her was true then how was Doctor Patrick able to stabilize Auntie Becker without the medication?

Was the other doctor lying or was Doctor Patrick working with Viktor?

These were the questions that still remained unanswered.

A few seconds later a nurse walked in.

She did minor checkups on Auntie Becker.

Zora wheeled herself forward, ignoring Viktor and Sandra whose fingers were digging deep into her palm.

“How is she?”

The nurse smiled.

“She’s well, you don’t have to worry.”

Zora exhaled.

“When would she wake up?”

The nurse glanced at Auntie Becker who was still unconscious.

“She should be awake in sixteen hours or more, but she’ll definitely wake up before forty-eight hours at most.”

The nurse then asked.

“Anything else?”

Zora shook her head in response.

The nurse nodded and then left the room.

“Does this mean you’re crippled?”

Sandra asked sarcastically.

Viktor on the other hand had been meaning to ask the same question, but couldn’t bring himself to do it, his ears opened and were alert to pick up every word of explanation that would come out of Zora’s mouth.

However Zora refused to answer her question.

There was one thing Zora wanted to confirm, her gaze fell on Sandra’s face, there was no way Sandra would come to Pink Country just because of Auntie Becker, she didn’t even come when the sickness started and was life threatening because no one knew the cure.

She then shifted her eyes to Matthew, Matthew would never follow this arrogant fool around, he was one of her mother’s special bodyguards. This chapter was copied from novelping . com without permission.

“Is my mother in Pink Country?”

Sandra rolled her eyes.

“Why do you care?

Even though she’s in Pink Country it’s none of your business.”

She then sat on the chair.

“Do you wish to see her?

Probably not.

Not while her beloved sister is lying down unconscious and you are still alive.”

A triumphant smile slowly appeared on Sandra’s lips.

“Despite the fact you’re now crippled, your mother still doesn’t wish to see you, have you forgotten?”

Viktor frowned, he wasn’t particularly happy to see Sandra talk to Zora like that.

Zora relaxed on her wheelchair.

“It must have been splendid to be by my mother’s side all these years?”

Sandra’s smile stiffened.

“Being the most pampered and cared for, you must have been living blissfully.”

Sandra’s smile slowly faded.

She couldn’t wish Zora death, it’s too peaceful.

She would love to see Zora beg and suffer at her watch.

“Zora aren’t you scared that me being here could mean something big?”

Zora sneered.

“You’re already a natural disaster, why should I bother?”

“You!!”

Sandra pointed her index finger but brought it down almost immediately.

‘Just wait and see.’

Zora shifted her gaze to Viktor.
