Viktor saw how Zora was staring at him.
A smug smile appeared on his face.
He felt satisfied that Zora could not continue to ignore him.
Because of Sandra, Viktor put on a worried look.
“Don’t worry, auntie will be fine.”
Zora glared at him and then wheeled herself out of the room.
Viktor also followed her, thinking that she wanted them to speak in private.
When they got out of the room, Viktor quickly stood in front of Zora, not allowing her to leave.
Zora’s face darkened.
“Get out of my way.”
But Viktor refused.
He stood there and stared at her.
“Come on, why act like you’re some kind of god, huh?”
He put his hands into his pant pockets.
“You’re crippled so this means you can’t pay me back?”
Zora said nothing to him.
“Zora, you see that your auntie’s sickness has gotten worse, so imagine how things would be different if she finds out that you don’t want to get married to me.”
Zora looked straight into his eyes, her face deadly.
“That’s my problem.
It doesn’t concern you.”
Viktor arched an eyebrow.
“Really?
Have you forgotten that I’m the reason your auntie is still alive?”
He then walked around her, the smile on his lips growing wider.
“If I decide not to continue paying for the bills and medications, do you think your auntie will survive?”
Zora scoffed.
Although she did not want to make any rash decisions, she would wait until she asked Doctor Patrick how he was able to sustain her auntie, then she would know what to do.
As for now she would just let Viktor live in the moment.
“What do you think about that, Zora?”
Zora said nothing to him and just wheeled herself forward.
Viktor stood and watched her back, then said loud enough for Zora to hear,
“I’ll give you forty eight hours.” Enjoying the story? Read on at novelping.com.
Zora did not stop.
She continued to wheel herself.
That was just enough time for her to find out how Doctor Patrick was able to pull things through, and if Viktor had worked with him.
Doctor Patrick was seated in his office going through the files on his desk when a knock came at the door.
He looked up and said,
“Come in.”
The door opened and it was Zora, seated on her wheelchair.
She wheeled in and then closed the door.
Doctor Patrick scanned her face, then slowly his lips gave off a faint smile.
“Have you seen your auntie?”
Zora nodded with a wide grin.
“Actually I’m here to thank you, I’m really grateful for today.”
Patrick was satisfied to see the bright smile on her face.
He did not know why he cared, but somehow he just wished that she would continue to smile like that.
Ever since the night Zora was brought to the hospital he hadn’t seen her smile so brightly.
He then leaned back on his chair and relaxed.
“It’s not a problem.
I did it so you don’t come asking for poison.”
Zora threw her head backwards as a hearty laugh came out from her lungs.
She finally calmed herself but small laughs still escaped before she could stop them.
“Hi, hi, hi, thank you, I’m really grateful, doctor.”
Patrick smiled.
He truly enjoyed seeing the happy side of Zora.
“There’s no problem.”
Zora sighed and then calmed herself before she asked,
“Doctor, can I ask you a question?”
Patrick gestured for her to go ahead.
She sighed again.
“The doctor at the other hospital told us that the heart issue my auntie has is a special one, and the medication used is only produced once a month and no other person has a way to get it except through special connections.”
“So how were you able to stabilize my auntie without the medication?”
“You’re right, the medication is quite rare because the sickness itself is not yet known by a lot of people, and very rare for people to get such a sickness.”
“As you said, no one can get the medication except through special connections.
So let’s just say I got the medication through a special connection.”
Zora bit down her lip.
“Is that connection Viktor Rolf?”
Patrick’s brows joined together.
The name did not ring a bell to him.
“I’m afraid I can’t tell you who it is, but I must also tell you this, I don’t know who Viktor whatever is.”
Zora’s eyes narrowed.
“You’ve never heard his name before?”
Patrick nodded.
“Trust me, it doesn’t ring a bell.”
Zora smiled but it did not reach her eyes.
She then asked again, because she still did not understand what Patrick meant.
“Do you think the doctor at the other hospital also had a special connection?”
“I can’t say, but I know it’s not easy to get the medication.
Even most elites can’t get it even with their power and money.”
Zora nodded.
Then she said,
“Doctor, since you’ve got a special connection, can my auntie be permanently transferred here?
I’ll make sure to pay.”
Doctor Patrick smiled.
“That was done long ago.
You don’t have to worry about the payment.”
Zora’s eyes widened.
Her mouth fell open, then tears rolled down her face.
She was thoroughly grateful.
But one question still played in her heart.
Did Viktor also have a special connection?
She needed to find out.
