Warren, stepping out into the hallway, looked down at his finger.

The sensation of Ellie holding it still lingered.

Ever since she had grabbed his finger on that first day, he had wanted to experience it again.

But because he couldn’t leave Lucas’s side, he hadn’t been able to try.

‘Do you have any idea how cute Ellie’s smile is when she looks at me?

The moment she sees me, she clings to me, calling me Oppa, Oppa.

She’s so lovely…

And because she’s still so pure, she smells wonderful too.’

Every time Bihan bragged about it, Warren could hardly stand listening.

For the first time in his life, he had even harbored the disloyal thought that he wished he weren’t Lucas’s guard.

‘She looks so much like my lord.’

In his duties gathering children for the dormitory, Warren had met all kinds of kids, from newborns to ten-year-olds.

Yet, he had never felt this way with any of them.

It was a soft, ticklish sensation, as if a cloud had settled in his chest.

The reason Ellie felt so special was probably because she resembled Lucas so much.

Her eyes, her nose, and even her red, juicy lips were the spitting image of Lucas.

Neither Lucas, Bihan, Warren, nor any of the other Black Sea Swords had ever had a childhood.

As demons, they simply materialized in the demon realm as if dropped from the sky, never undergoing the process of being conceived and carried in a mother’s womb.

There were times when a demon and a human shared an affection that resulted in a child.

But Lucas was a man who refused to ever create a weakness for himself, so he would never have a beloved woman or a child.

When Warren first saw Ellie, it felt like looking at Lucas’s own child—something he had thought he would never see in his lifetime.

That was how much Elienor and Lucas resembled each other.

‘He even gave her a name.’

None of the children in the dormitory had ever received a name from Lucas.

Most of them simply used the names they had been called on the outside.

Only one, Alec, had received a name from Bihan.

Even though Alec was only five years old, his swordsmanship was remarkable, which had caught Bihan’s fancy.

‘Once Elienor starts walking, she’ll be moved to the dormitory too.’

The thought filled him with reluctance.

The training the dormitory children underwent was brutal.

Some had even died, unable to endure it.

His heart sank at the thought of Ellie, with her fragile little body, undergoing such harsh training.

“Where have you been?”
