Cassian raised his head, staring at Nova, who was standing quietly at the entrance. A warm smile spread across his cold face immediately. He stood up from his chair, walking straight toward her.
"You are back," he stated. He picked her up with one arm effortlessly, returning to his chair and setting her on his lap.
"Let me introduce to you. This is my wife, Nova," Cassian announced, his voice laced with pride as he stared at her. "Darling, these are your in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Vitale," he added.
Nova glared at everyone until her gaze fell on the young man who looked exactly like Cassian. She stared at him for a brief moment before her gaze shifted to the lady in the green dress.
"Target information," she thought, her gaze fixed unblinkingly on the lady.
Ding! Target information downloaded.

Reading the information, Nova smiled lightly, finally looked away, and lowered her head slightly. An enemy, but an in-law. Isn’t that interesting?" she thought.
Dora stared at Nova with a suspicious gaze, trying to find any flaws in her but couldn’t find a single one. "This little girl is giving me an uneasy feeling. But... how can someone be so beautiful? She looks almost unreal," she thought, still staring at Nova.
Cassian noticed Dora staring at Nova, and his brows knitted immediately. "Miss Dora, mind your manners," he commented sharply.
Dora’s gaze shifted to Cassian, and she flashed a harmless smile.
"You said she’s your wife," she commented, staring at Nova once again. "Don’t be blinded by her beauty, Cassian. How can you marry an underage little girl? Even if you are all-powerful, you can’t be unreasonable, right?" She smiled harmlessly.
Nova’s brows knitted immediately, and she cast a deadly glare at Dora. "You don’t need glasses like me in order to see properly, Miss Dora. Do I look like an underage little girl to you?"
Saying that, the clips she used to hold her twin ponytails dissolved into nothing but a soft glow of blue light and vanished into the air, and her long locks cascaded down.
Even with her hair down, she still possessed a youthful beauty, but the sudden change gave her an undeniably mature, dangerous aura.
Cassian was surprised seeing the scene but didn’t reveal it; instead, his hand ran through her soft, smooth hair. "My little lamb is quite tough," he thought, a proud smile spreading across his face.
Dora was shocked. Her heart beat faster for a moment before she managed to calm her racing pulse. "This girl doesn’t seem ordinary with the way she looks," she thought.
The middle-aged man, Mr. Vitale, frowned. "So young, but rude. I don’t approve of this marriage. It would be better if you two get a divorce today," he stated in a commanding tone.
Nova stared at Mr. Vitale and smiled lightly. Her smile was chilling and dangerously threatening, yet with her angelic face, she looked completely harmless.
"Father-in-law... it seems there’s a misunderstanding here," her calm voice echoed.
Mr. Vitale looked away. Trying to beg? How can such a delicate thing be my son’s wife? he thought.
Nova chuckled, a low, melodic sound. "Whether you agree or not does not matter. You just needed to be informed of the reality, which you now are. Nothing else matters," she said, staring unblinkingly straight into Mr Vitale pitch-black eyes.
Not only Mr. Vitale, but even Mrs. Vitale beside him, Dora, and Cassian’s identical twin were all stunned. They didn’t expect such boldness from Nova, and it gave them a completely different view of her.
"You are really something, little girl," Mr. Vitale commented with a light smile on his face. Suddenly, his smile froze. He pulled his jacket to the side and was about to draw his gun out, but with flash-like speed that even Cassian failed to catch, Nova snatched Cassian’s gun from his holster and pointed the barrel directly at Mr. Vitale’s glabella.
Her action was so unimaginably fast and shocking that Mr Vitale remained stiff in his seat, completely paralyzed. He hadn’t even been given the chance to pull his own weapon from its holster.
"Father-in-law, you are too slow. Trust me, assuming you pose real threat to me, it wouldn’t just be this bullet becoming a permanent part of your brain" She relaxed her grip, allowing the heavy gun to slip from her fingers.
It hit the hard marble floor with loud thud.
A dark, sinister smile curled on Nova’s lips as she stared down the terrifying Mafia patriarch. "But fortunately... father-in-law poses no threat to me," she taunted playfully. Her smile widened as she stepped back, suddenly burying her face into Cassian’s chest and clinging to him like a scared, timid little girl.
Mr. Vitale couldn’t recover from his shock for a long while. He was genuinely stunned by Nova’s speed and alertness, but he was even more terrified by how flawlessly she could switch back into playing the fragile victim.
Mrs. Vitale, who was beside Mr. Vitale, was equally stunned. "She’s definitely not ordinary," she thought, and calmly tapped her husband’s shoulder.
Mr. Vitale returned to his senses and relaxed his posture, taking in a deep breath. He laughed, staring at Nova. "I’m really getting old, aren’t I?" His gaze shifted to the proud Cassian, who was calmly smoothing Nova’s hair.
"I can’t control you. Even the wife you found for yourself is untouchable. You are really something, Cassian."
"Don’t make it sound like my wife is a villain. She’s such a gentle lamb with the purest soul," Cassian replied, his gaze never leaving Nova.
Mrs. Vitale smiled lightly. She stared at Nova, who happened to be staring back at her with an unreadable expression on her face, and then she sighed.
"Forget it... we came here to match you up with Miss Dora, but you’ve already found yourself a little doll." Her voice was neither cold nor soft.
"How old are you, Nova?" Mrs. Vitale questioned.
Nova’s brows knitted slightly. She felt a little uncomfortable with the question mostly because she strongly doubted the system’s claim that she was only eighteen.
"Eighteen," she replied simply. "I can’t recall my real age though, but I know I’m surely older than anyone in this world," she thought.
"Eighteen," Mrs. Vitale repeated, and nodded. "What about your family?" she asked.
A sudden smirk appeared on Nova’s lips. "Mother-in-law, it shouldn’t be difficult for you to get any information you want to know about me," she said.
"True, but with your abilities, I doubt I’ll get the real information," Mrs. Vitale replied, smiling harmlessly.
"Smart," Nova thought, and chuckled. "Well... my answer will be the same as the information you will get," she replied in a soft, harmless tone.
Mrs. Vitale lightly shook her head. "Fine then. Since you won’t be a burden to my son, I won’t make trouble for you," she commented, and stared at Dora.
"My apologies, Miss Dora, but the marriage plan for you and Cassian is no longer possible. How about this, Lucian is Cassian’s twin brother. You can marry him instead," she offered.
Dora chuckled lightly, her gaze falling on Nova. "Lucian and Cassian might be flawless identical twins, but my heart is for Cassian. Since it’s impossible, let’s cut off the proposal then," she replied to Mrs. Vitale without tearing her gaze away from Nova.
"Mrs. Nova..." Dora began, her voice dropping to a silken threat. "Sometimes, letting go of something is the best decision a human can ever make. A decision that will be harmless... and not cost a life," she warned. She looked perfectly poised, yet her smile was laced with lethal danger.
Nova chuckled loudly, staring right back into Dora’s eyes. "Have you ever seen the moon move aside simply because someone wished for the sky?" she challenged flawlessly. Her dark smile widened, and her glowing blue eyes—brimming with twisted excitement—screamed of raw, determined death.
