"I don't remember…" Sara made a cute expression and put a finger on her lips as if she were really telling the truth.

Her father studied her face and tried not to smile.

The officer was obviously not a beginner and looked at her suspiciously, then his tone lost the warmth he had at the beginning. "You know that he killed and burned down the building, right? So please tell me what he looks like."Full novel: Teen Wolf: The Soul Collector — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Hmph!" Sara's father stared coldly at the officer, almost like he would punch him any second. "They are lucky I didn't get the chance! Why aren't you looking for the people responsible for my daughter's kidnapping?!"

The officer unconsciously looked down at the floor as he remembered who was standing before him.

Sara's father became even more suspicious of the officer in front of him; he didn't know why, but he got a feeling that something was not adding up.

"Keep the scene intact! I will call the FBI to investigate more thoroughly." Then he ignored the officer, took his daughter, and walked away.

As he was walking, the officer could see him calling someone and telling them something. His expression changed, and he quickly went into a nearby alley and called someone.

"We are in trouble! Soon the FBI will be involved too!"

A brief silence remained on the other line, then a voice came through. "The boss will not like this! Find the man responsible…and kill him!"

"Yes!" The call was then disconnected. The officer looked around, then went to find more clues.

Just as he was walking, he spotted a camera on the building. It was pointing right at the burned warehouse.

In a dark room filled with smoke, the same ferocious man who was the Boss of the one responsible for the kidnapping of the children was now listening carefully to the phone.

"I will take care of it, I promise!" The Boss looked like he was begging for mercy.

Then a deep voice came from the other side. "Patrick…I had high hopes for you…don't disappoint me again!"

"It will not happen again, Mr. J! Please give me one more chance!" Patrick tapped the floor with his foot nervously as he waited for the answer.

"This is the last time I will speak for you!"

Patrick's face lit up with joy, and he thanked the owner of the voice till the call was finished. A brief silence remained in the room, and suddenly Patrick threw the phone at the wall, smashing it into pieces.

"Damn you! One day I will make you grovel at my feet! Just wait!" Patrick's previously begging face disappeared; only humiliation and fury remained on his face.

You could see veins almost popping on his forehead, then he slapped the table hard. The sound echoed in the room as the table fell apart.

"Sir!" The door opened, and just as the man was about to continue, his words stuck in his mouth as he saw the state of the room.

"Speak!"

The man gulped as he saw the fury in Patrick's eyes, then he gathered his courage, walked in front of him, and showed him a photo. "It's the one responsible…"

Patrick calmed down slightly and gazed at the picture of Nathan. A ferocious grin formed on his mouth as he already imagined killing Nathan himself. "Tell those pigs to find him or…they won't be needed anymore."

The man nodded and hurriedly walked out of the room. He didn't want to stay even one more second.

Patrick leaned back in his chair and looked up at the ceiling. "I will rip you apart piece by piece!"

While everyone was looking for a piece of him, Nathan slept like a baby. In the morning, when he woke up, he looked at his dirty body. Last night, he had collapsed directly on the bed.

He then took a quick shower and checked his body. Besides the stitched wound on his stomach, he now had a bruise on his back.

Nathan rejoiced at his decision to improvise a body armor, or else he would be dead by now. But he still decided to go and buy a real bulletproof vest and a stronger firearm.

He didn't know why, but from the moment he woke up, his left eye twitched constantly. In his previous life, he took this as a bad sign.

Nathan didn't forget that he still hadn't seen the Boss that the guards were talking about. That could mean only one thing: that he was still in danger.

He didn't get cocky just because of what happened last night. Even if he had his previously trained body, a bullet could end his life.

His teacher always said, "Think like a fox, strike like a lion." Nathan had never forgotten those words.
