The first shot only scraped his skin, making Nathan curse his skill. Just as Mark, the officer, could point his gun at him and shoot, Nathan unloaded all the bullets in his gun.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Mark's hand dropped, and so did the gun. His body had a few holes, and blood was already seeping out.

He stared at Nathan with hatred. If he had just died, his partner would still be alive. Then the light in his eyes slowly faded, and his body crumbled to the ground.

In that moment, even his soul couldn't rest in peace as it cracked, and a piece of fragment flew to Nathan.

[Basic Firearms]

Current Progress: 95% -> 100%

[Intermediate Firearms Achieved]

Current Progress: 5%

A wave of memories entered his brain. It was way more complex than when he achieved Basic Firearms.

Nathan groaned as he felt like his head was about to explode. Images of him practicing shooting were appearing in his mind at a speed that was impossible to comprehend.

He felt like he practiced for years just in the blink of an eye, then he opened his eyes and took a deep breath.

He had never felt this kind of sensation before. It was pain, but at the same time, a sense of pleasure, like his mind expanded further and he felt more alive.

Now he was more certain of his level of skills. He was at the level of someone who practiced for several years. If he had to point more specifically, it was around the level of an experienced police officer.

He then looked down at the dead officers and realized why he received such a large percentage from them.

They must have been around the intermediate level, but what made him frown was that he only got 5% after reaching intermediate firearms.

"So I will get less the more I grow?" Nathan stroked his chin thoughtfully and was almost certain that it was like that.

Nevertheless, he was happy about his growth.

Now the only question remained: what to do? If the cops were really looking for him, he would be in a lot of trouble.

He glanced at the bodies and reached to search the one he killed first. He was wearing gloves, so he wasn't so worried. Besides, by the looks of it, they already knew him.

As he tried opening the officer's phone, he saw he needed a password. He sighed and put it back in its original position, then he went to the other one and grabbed his phone.

Just as he thought it would be the same, the phone opened. Nathan's eyes lit up, and he searched it thoroughly.

When he reached the texts, he finally found something noteworthy. It was a message saying: "You have 48 hours to find him and kill him, or else you will experience his fate!"

Nathan frowned, then he looked through the photos and saw a picture of him. Although it wasn't very clear, you could still see his face.

He deleted it immediately and went to the trash and deleted it from there too.

At first, he thought of taking the phone with him, but that message could be left as evidence that he acted in self-defense.

He didn't want half the country looking for him. He took a photo of the text and the number and put the phone back in its place.

Suddenly, an idea came to mind, and he took the money from them and the phone from the other dead body.

It was better if it looked like a robbery or an arrest gone wrong. Frankly, he didn't want to get involved with the police, even if it meant proving his innocence.

He wouldn't even know who to trust, so he looked at the scene one last time and walked away.

As he was walking through one of the old alleys of San Francisco, Nathan wondered where he should stay.

He couldn't go back to the motel, maybe only to give that fat bastard a beating. He glanced at the lonely alley and went into a corner.

Nathan began undressing and threw his old clothes in the inventory, then he took new ones and changed.

Now he looked like the fight never happened. He then put the hoodie over his head and walked ahead into the busier street.

As he was passing a store, he suddenly saw camping equipment, and his eyes lit up. He then went into the store and paid $1,000 for the best tent and accessories that came with it.

After getting out with a big bag in his hand, he went back to that alley and put the tent in his inventory.

Then Nathan began walking as far as he could from that part of the city. After walking for 2 hours, he stopped in front of an abandoned mansion.

It looked like a house straight from a horror movie. Nathan hesitated for a few seconds, then he sneaked through the hole in the fence.

When he entered, it was full of webs, and he already started regretting his decision. He could only curse the people who were after him and start mounting the tent.

After an hour, he lay down on the fragile bed and looked up at the ceiling. Suddenly, he remembered that his phone had vibrated, and he knew that it must have been a mission.
