"Evade the police..?" Nathan looked at the screen weirdly. So the killing part wasn't necessary?
"I mean…they are dead. So I succeeded, right?" What better evasion than getting rid of your pursuers?
[Mission Rewards]
$2,500
x1 Flash Grenade
x1 Smoke Grenade
A piece of intelligence
"Grenade?" He was surprised since he got a physical reward. But both could prove to be useful, especially against more enemies.
The money was well received too. He was burning money like paper, and he didn't even have a nice place to sleep.
When he looked at the last reward, his eyes narrowed. It didn't take a genius to realize that it was related to who was after him.
When he clicked on the reward, a map appeared with an indication towards a certain location.
The location had a red dot on it, and he could see that the building was rather large.
A thoughtful expression appeared on his face. He thought of the warehouse he destroyed and how the so-called boss wasn't there.
"So this is where you are?" Nathan tapped the phone as he was thinking of his next move.
It was obvious they wanted him dead, so peace wasn't an option. Even the police were on their payroll, so he had to do something once and for all.
Nathan closed his eyes as he tried to think of a plan. He couldn't just go in there as he did at the last warehouse.
He was lucky at that time because the men were spread throughout the place, and he could kill them one by one.
What would he do if there were a large number of enemies in one place? "Light!" Nathan exclaimed as he thought of a solution.
By cutting down the power, he could make the enemy lose their vision, but now the only question remained: what would he do about his own vision?
Suddenly, Nathan opened his eyes as he thought of a solution.
At the scene where the officers were killed, a big crowd gathered as the police arrived and closed the area.
It was filled with police cars, and you could also see FBI agents all around the crime scene.
A car made its way to the scene. When it stopped, a man got out of the car. It was Sara's father.
He made his way towards the crime scene when an FBI agent spotted him.
"Look who graced us with his presence, the U.S. Attorney himself." The agent patted his colleague on the shoulder and approached him.
Richard Whitmore, who was Sara's father, ignored the man's sarcasm and looked at the dead officers. "Just tell me if you found something, Daniel."
Daniel looked at the bodies and nodded. "We did, but most importantly, how's my niece doing?"
Richard looked away from the bodies when he heard him mentioning Sara. "She's holding up, but she can't stop talking about the hero who saved her."
"Hero?" Daniel murmured as he remembered the police report and nodded in agreement. "I don't care about those pieces of trash that died. He did a good thing."
Richard looked around to see if anyone was listening and gazed at his brother. "Did you find anything about him?"
"What? You want him in jail?" Daniel put his arm around him and smiled.
Richard glared at him and threw his hand off his shoulder. "No, I want to repay the favor."
Daniel looked thoughtfully at his brother. His rigid older brother had changed since Sara was kidnapped.
He was even sure that if Richard was the first to get a hold of the kidnappers, he would have killed them.
Thankfully, Sara was found and that man took care of those people, and his brother could keep his job.
"Now tell me about the case." Richard snapped his fingers at his face, bringing him out of his own thoughts.
Daniel nodded, and both walked toward the bodies. He then pointed toward the officers.
"They weren't even supposed to be in this area. Before this happened, they reported something else on the radio."
Richard frowned and looked at his brother. "What are you trying to say?"
"People saw them chasing someone, but why wouldn't they report the chase?" Daniel's voice then dropped lower.
"And…one of them was on our radar for some time, but we were never able to find anything, as if someone was covering for him from inside the department."
Richard's face turned grave, and he glanced around the perimeter. "Maybe if we find the killer, we will know more. Did you check the area? See if some civilians had contact with them?"
