A wave of memories entered his mind. For a second, he thought that his brain would explode.
Then scene after scene kept playing inside his mind, on how to use the environment itself and time his movements with the surrounding sounds, avoiding lines of sight and recognizing blind spots.
After the agonizing pain stopped, Nathan breathed a sigh of relief and opened his eyes. He couldn't help but wonder if this was already so bad, how would the advanced level be?
He didn't know if he should feel sad that he was just a hair away from Advanced Firearms, or happy. Shaking his head and throwing the useless thoughts away, he began walking upstairs.
Every step he took was careful and calculated. Although there should be only two people remaining, he didn't trust the information that much.
And even one person could kill him if he wasn't being careful enough. He then walked for a few minutes, only stopping when he reached the door leading towards the last floor.
His left eye suddenly twitched, but he was too concentrated on the surroundings to think more about it.
Nathan lifted the rifle up, and he slowly pushed the door open. What he saw was a rather old-style office, but it was huge, and to the left of it, there were some big windows, and inside he could see an old industrial electrical panel.
But his face instantly hardened when he saw that at the end of the room, right where a desk and a chair were situated, there was no one there.
"Looking for me, little bug?" Suddenly, a voice came from behind the door. He didn't panic and was just about to use his left elbow to strike directly.
But then something incredible happened. A hand grasped his arm as if it had stopped a fly, then ripped the rifle from his other hand and sent him flying straight into the wall.
"Thud!"
"Ugh!" The impact made Nathan grimace in pain, as he felt like he had broken some bones. Then his body slid down right to the floor.
He lifted his head slowly and saw a large man next to the door. The man grinned at him as if watching some inferior creature, then he spoke.
"You must be that kid that caused me all these problems… thankfully, I have the chance to torture you myself!" Patrick threw the cigar from his mouth and began walking toward Nathan.
In Nathan's mind, there was only one question, 'What the fuck happened?'
He was thrown just like a baby, and even in his previous life, when he fought guys bigger than himself, this never happened.
But unfortunately for Nathan, he didn't have time to dwell on this as Patrick was getting closer.
Gritting his teeth from the pain, he pushed himself from the floor with one hand, and with the other, he pointed his remaining pistol at the strange man.
Suddenly, he felt like the figure in front of him blurred for a moment, then arrived right in front of him. His eyes shrank, then the hand that was holding the gun was slapped away.
He groaned as he felt like he had just gotten scratched by something, but when he looked over at Patrick's face, his expression changed.
Patrick now had hairs on the side of his face and large fangs, and the most striking were the blue eyes.
Seeing his expression, Patrick became interested. "You seem to know something." His voice was even deeper than usual, and so was his expression, just like a hunter waiting for its prey to show fear.
Nathan rolled his eyes as he felt like he was cursed by the Goddess of Luck. He wasn't even in Beacon Hills, and he met a werewolf. Now he knew why the boss was the most important target on the mission.
Seeing that he didn't respond, Patrick frowned, as he didn't like when people didn't answer him.
Nathan noticed his expression turning worse, and he began to calm down. A werewolf wasn't invincible. The one in front of him didn't just throw his weapon so that he would look cool; he was afraid that a few too many bullets would kill him.
Not wanting to give him a chance, Nathan struck first and hit him right in the nose.
"Crack!" His shot was so perfect that a clear sound of the nose breaking was heard, and Patrick took a few steps back while holding his bleeding nose.
"Urgh! I'll kill you!" Patrick gritted his teeth in hatred, then grasped his twisted nose and placed it back in its original position.
"Shit!" Nathan couldn't help but curse at this sight. He knew that it wouldn't take long for the damage to heal, and he had just made Patrick angrier.
