'Angrier?' Nathan surveyed the room with the corner of his eye as an idea slowly grew in his mind.

Patrick's eyes were practically fuming with anger, then he sprinted toward Nathan, just like a mad bull.

Nathan's eyes became calm, and a sense of tranquility washed over him. He wasn't the lion anymore. So he had to become the fox in order to kill the hunter.Full novel: Teen Wolf: The Soul Collector — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Just as Patrick made a hugging gesture towards him, Nathan lunged forward and dropped low. For a second, Patrick thought that Nathan was trying to lift him up.

In that window of hesitation, Nathan passed him, dropping his upper body even lower and hitting him directly on the back of the knee.

Patrick's knee buckled, and not giving him time to breathe, Nathan did a Brazilian kick named capoeira, landing directly on the side of his head.

"Smack!"

The impact sounded just like a loud slap, but Patrick didn't feel like he was just slapped. His knees trembled, almost giving way.

His vision blurred, and his ear felt like it was completely dead, just a deafening noise at the start, then nothing.

Just as Nathan thought he had done massive damage to him, he saw Patrick still standing on his feet and slowly starting to feel better.

If he did that kick in his past life, no one could still stand on their feet, but the monster in front of him just took it like it was just a harder punch.

In that moment, he truly felt the strength of the supernatural creatures in this world. Even one of his best moves would prove useless against such a massive biological difference.

And he didn't forget that the beta in front of him wasn't even that strong compared to the real monsters.

A spark of fire lit up in his eyes. Hunger for more strength appeared in them, just like the first time he began training to become the strongest martial artist.

Then, without hesitation, he changed his direction and tried to reach for the rifle on the floor.

Just as he thought he would get it, his body stopped, and when he looked back, he saw Patrick grabbing his leg with a furious expression in his eyes.

Before he could even say something, Nathan felt his body pulled back, then a massive force hit his stomach.

"Ugh!"

His body went flying right in the opposite direction of the weapon, and he slid on the ground for a few meters.

When he finally stopped, he curled up just like a baby, but one filled with agonizing pain. Every breath he took felt like it was his last. He was sure that the damage could even kill him if he didn't get to a hospital.

He raised his head and looked at Patrick. With him standing there, there was no hope for him to even get out.

Then he gritted his teeth as he finally made up his mind to use that ability. One that he was hesitant to use since he knew the side effects were dangerous.

But it didn't matter anymore since it was between certain death and a glimmer of hope. He closed his eyes as he somehow felt it deep inside of him and chose to activate Adrenaline Surge.

Then a violent wave of heat washed over his body, starting from the chest, then running throughout his entire body.

His heart began to beat so fast that he could almost feel it in his throat. His breathing sped up, and he felt like he could gather more air all at once.

The previous blurred vision disappeared, and he could see Patrick's figure, which was heading for him, moving at a lower speed.

He then realized that his reflexes improved. Although he could still feel the pain, his brain seemed to make him ignore it and focus more on the task at hand.

Nathan then slowly got up, and he gazed calmly at the incoming angry werewolf.

The moment that Patrick swung his claws at him, Nathan reacted way faster than he could usually do, and his body moved instinctively.

"Boom!"

A punch landed directly on Patrick's face, then almost immediately came an uppercut, making Patrick take a few steps back, shaking his head a few times before glaring at him as if nothing happened.

His heart tensed as Nathan knew that he only had 30 seconds of this state. Once that time was finished, his fate would be sealed.

By now, Patrick's eyes resembled more those of a beast than a human's. Every blow that he took made him more and more ferocious and angry.

If Nathan didn't know better, he would think that he was fighting the Hulk.

Then their eyes collided as they each ran towards each other.
