"ROARHH!"
The sound shook the windows' glass, and Nathan felt a tingling sensation in his ears. Despite the ferocious appearance of Patrick, his expression didn't falter.
In fact, something else could be seen in those eyes, something only Patrick could see, and that was excitement.
Just as they were about to collide, Nathan dodged the claws heading for his face and kicked Patrick's stomach, managing to keep the distance.
The moment that Patrick tried to close the distance again, Nathan kicked his knee. It made him wobble a little, but nothing much.
A small grin formed on Nathan's face, then he did the move another two times.
Just as Patrick expected that he would breeze through it as the last three times, the blow suddenly felt sharper, and his knee gave up for a second, and his face headed straight for the floor.
"Boom!"
Blood splattered everywhere as a heavy knee landed straight into Patrick's nose, and his body fell heavily to the floor.
Before Nathan could even feel victorious, a sudden sharp, piercing pain ran through his foot. When he looked over, he saw Patrick madly biting him.
"Fuuck!" Nathan kicked Patrick's head continuously, and just as he felt like his bones would break, the force around his foot loosened, and he hurriedly lifted it up and retreated.
Nathan breathed heavily as he felt like all the pain he had before was slowly returning. He could feel that the adrenaline was slowly wearing off.
He knew that he had to do something. His attacks were not nearly enough to fatally injure a werewolf. Nathan then scanned the room quickly, and he decided to move forward with his plan.
When he looked back, Patrick was already back on his feet, and from the looks of it, he was done playing games.
Nathan slowly stepped back as Patrick decided to just run through him. Just as he was about to hit him head-on, Nathan suddenly threw something in the air while closing his eyes and dodging to the right.
"FLASH!"
A blinding light appeared in the room, and Patrick's vision vanished. Unfortunately for him, he didn't have the time to spot it, and he ran straight through the large windows.
"Crash!"
The glass shattered at the impact, and glass flew everywhere, and Patrick stopped directly into an emergency generator.
Thankfully for him, it wasn't on at that moment, but the light still affected his vision.
Nathan's knees buckled as he felt like the Adrenaline Surge was only a few seconds away from finishing.
Gritting his teeth, he used his last remaining strength and ran straight for Patrick. When he got close enough, he spotted a broken metal pole. He reached for it instinctively and ripped it from the wall.
Thankfully for him, it was already almost ripped off. Just then, he heard the heavy breathing of Patrick and saw him getting up.
Willing to risk it all, Nathan grabbed the pole with both hands and lunged it straight into Patrick's stomach, passing through it and entering straight into the generator.
"Thrust!"
"Aghhhh!" Patrick's eyes bulged in pain.
In that moment, the Adrenaline Surge expired, and Nathan felt like gravity multiplied, and an overwhelming amount of pain hit his nerves.
But what was worse was that he saw no electricity. With a heavy look, he glanced upward and saw a lever.
His face twisted as this small detail ruined his plan, and he could already see Patrick trying to get the pole out.
He leaned heavily on the other panel, and his hand trembled as he tried to lift it. A heavy mood washed over him as Patrick was about to succeed.
"Come on!" Nathan shouted as his hand trembled with every centimeter he lifted it up. His heartbeat resounded through his ears, and only that lever remained in his blurred eyes.
"I will kill youuu!" Patrick's own vision returned, and as he tried getting out, he shouted at Nathan. Then he started laughing as he saw his pitiful look. "You will die once I get out!"
"Click!"
Patrick's face stiffened, not knowing where he took the strength, Nathan pulled the lever down.
Sparks flew from the generator, and the electricity travelled in the blink of an eye straight through the pole and into Patrick's body.
Patrick trembled constantly as if he had spasms, but his face constricted in anger and resentment as he looked at Nathan. "YOU WILL DIE! JUST LIKE MEEE!"
"ARGHHHHH!"
His body was being cooked from the inside, and soon his eyes rolled to the back of his head. The trembling slowly ceased, then suddenly came to a halt.
Nathan smiled bitterly at this sight. He won, but he was sure that he was going to die too. His hand didn't have the force to hold on anymore, and he fell heavily on the floor.
His vision was getting blurry by the second, and in that dying moment, he saw a dazzling fragment flying straight toward him.
The fragment was divine, nothing like he had seen before. The moment it entered his body, a sense of euphoria washed over him.
