A trending topic shot to the top of the charts, dominating every hot search.

【This young Master Fu is so unlucky, ending up with that woman. Won’t his marriage be pure chaos?】

【What young Master Fu? The one marrying into the alliance is Fifth Master. Haven’t you all seen the latest news?】

Although the media had publicly announced the marriage alliance between the Sang and Fu families, some details had still leaked online.

【I heard this young Master Fu was so scared he fled the country overnight, hahaha, so Sang Ran’s marriage partner became Fifth Master.】

【Oh my god! Please, little Princess Sang, spare our Fifth Master, I’m begging you!!】

【Sang Ran, please leave our Fifth Master alone. It’s our Fifth Master who isn’t worthy of you.】

【Fifth Master must have been cursed for eight lifetimes. Why would he marry this woman? What’s wrong with him?】

The internet was in an uproar, with people begging Sang Ran to spare Fu Chenyan.

Everyone in the imperial capital knew that Sang Ranran, the little princess of Chenxu Group, was spoiled rotten and willful, and also a bit of a fool. Word had it she was nearly twenty years old and still needed servants to put on her shoes.

There were also rumors that she was extremely delicate and temperamental, backed by a doting father. Sang Lin had a fierce temper and couldn’t bear to see his daughter suffer the slightest grievance.

Fu Chenyan, the top financial magnate of the imperial capital, dominated the business world with an iron fist. He kept his distance from women, devoted himself entirely to his career, and had already expanded his influence overseas and across all of Asia.

At twenty-eight, he was still single, with legions of fans who admired his career achievements.

Making him marry a foolish princess was a pure insult to him.

At this moment, the foolish woman who had insulted Fifth Master ran away from the wedding…

Pure white wedding dress layers pooled around Sang Ran, enveloping her entirely.

Her skin was fair, her almond-shaped eyes shimmered with a watery gleam, her dark pupils seeming to hold countless stars within. Her nose was small and delicate, her lips moist and rosy, and her cheeks flushed with a faint pink.

She looked… like a beautiful doll.

“Brother Lu Yi, are we far from the wedding venue now? Daddy told me to go to the seaside, he definitely won’t find me there.”

The girl’s voice was soft, carrying a hint of sweetness that was pleasant to the ear.

“Okay.”

The man nodded in agreement, a faint smile curling at the corner of his lips.

The black vehicle drove smoothly along the road. Sang Ran gazed out the window at the passing scenery, a trace of relief spreading across her face.

Sang Ran had already agreed to Sang Lin’s arrangement to marry Fu Chenyan. However, ever since she caught a glimpse of the groom’s face yesterday, she had suddenly changed her mind.

Lu Yi didn’t know the reason, and he didn’t ask. As long as Sang Ran asked for his help, he would always give it.

The black car sped down the road, overtaking many vehicles. Just then, several more black cars burst out from behind, moving at breakneck speed. In an instant, they pulled up in front of Lu Yi, blocking his path.

Lu Yi frowned and pressed the accelerator. A screeching sound filled the air as he muttered a curse under his breath, so quiet that Sang Ran didn’t hear it.

Lu Yi raised his hand and rolled down the window, poking half his head out. “Hey, you people up ahead—don’t you know the traffic rules?”

The car door opened, and a man stepped out. His black leather shoes were immaculate, not a speck of dust on them. His trouser-clad legs were straight and long, his bespoke tailored suit free of a single wrinkle. Higher up, a slightly prominent Adam’s apple caught the eye.

His brow bone was sharp and cold, his dark eyes as frigid as an icy pool, the corners of his eyes tilting slightly upward. His lips were thin and pale, his jawline smooth and defined, exuding an air of cold resolve and restraint.

He raised a hand to tug at his collar. His skin was fair, and a string of black Buddhist beads circled his prominent wrist bone.

The moment Sang Ran saw him, her first instinct was to flee. She turned and buried her head in the seat, squeezing her eyes shut and clutching her head.

Lu Yi was momentarily stunned. Before he could say another word, Fu Chenyan had already opened his car door.

From his angle, he could clearly see the girl inside with her head buried in her arms, muttering something under her breath. All he could see was her pouting pink lips moving.

A flicker seemed to pass through Fu Chenyan’s deep, dark eyes—gone in an instant.

“Get out.”

His voice was icy cold, and Sang Ran trembled in fear, hugging her head even tighter.

Fu Chenyan was so fierce.

He might even hit her. She wasn’t getting out. She’d wait for Daddy to come.

Lu Yi got out of the car and walked over to Fu Chenyan. Standing beside him, he was indeed shorter, and his presence fell far short in comparison.

Suppressing the anger in his heart, Lu Yi asked, “What do you want?”

Fu Chenyan ignored Lu Yi entirely. He bent down and stepped into the car, grabbing the girl’s arm with one hand. His eyes were as deep as the waters of a frozen pool—no ripples, only bone-chilling cold.

Sang Ran tried to push Fu Chenyan’s hand away, but found she couldn’t budge it at all. So she opened her mouth and bit down hard.

A soft sensation met his skin—something Fu Chenyan had never experienced before.

His cold, composed brows shifted slightly as he stared at the teeth marks on his wrist. Suddenly, he extended his hand toward Sang Ran, and she immediately squeezed her eyes shut.

Perhaps thinking he was about to hit her, two tears slipped from her eyes.

Fu Chenyan’s icy fingertips brushed against her soft cheek. He opened his arms, lifted the girl out of the car, and kicked the door shut—a series of movements executed with fluid precision.

“Let Ran Ran go!”

Fu Chenyan looked down at him from above, his voice low and deep. “She’s mine. Is Second Young Master Lu trying to take what belongs to me?”

Lu Yi’s face stiffened, his fingers drooping slightly. He said nothing more. This man before him—he couldn’t afford to offend, and neither could the Lu family.

“Let me go.”

Even when angry, Sang Ran’s voice was soft and gentle, carrying no hint of intimidation. It only made one want to bully her more.

Fu Chenyan ignored her protests, carrying her and tucking her into the car.

Sang Ran rubbed her eyes, tears rolling down and landing on Fu Chenyan’s black suit. Fu Chenyan frowned slightly, a trace of coldness settling on his face.

“Don’t cry.”

His tone remained icy, like a frozen mountain that had stood for ten thousand years.

He didn’t know how to comfort people.

He only knew how to be harsh.

Sang Ran pointed at her forehead with a spoiled pout. “You… you bullied me… you bumped my head.”

She met Fu Chenyan’s face, paired with that frigid expression, and Sang Ran squeezed her eyes shut in fright, tears falling once more.

“Bumped you?”

Fu Chenyan looked at the young girl before him, and suddenly recalled the banquet two months ago…

A beautiful doll had crashed into his arms—a white princess dress, slightly curled long hair falling to her waist, soft and delicate. A single light bump, and the tears had come.

That was the first time he’d seen this doll, this doll who cried so easily. She seemed to exist in a fairy tale, not of this world.

“Does it hurt?”

His voice was deep, impossible to read. Sang Ran shook her head, then nodded, her pink lips pouting slightly as she whispered, “It hurts.”

“Spoiled.”

He remembered that night—it was this doll who had bumped into him, and then she’d started crying.

Then, his heavy gaze fell once more on the girl’s fair face. White and tender like a soft dough bun—what would it be like to take a bite?
