10 – Doll, will you come with me?
Fu Chenyan stood not far away, his tall frame exerting a powerful sense of pressure. His brow was cold, with the peaks slightly arched, making his entire presence seem even sharper.
Those pitch-black, cold eyes stared intently at Sang Ran. Instinctively, Sang Ran hid behind Sang Jinyu, her two hands nervously clutching the hem of his clothes.
Sang Jinyu naturally saw the man behind her. He narrowed his eyes. “Fu Chenyan…”
“Mm.”
Fu Chenyan nodded, considering it a greeting. It was obviously impossible for the high-and-mighty Fifth Lord to call him “brother.”
Sang Jinyu had not had much contact with Fu Chenyan. Observing him up close for the first time, he felt as if he were looking at an iceberg—devoid of any emotion. He couldn’t imagine what kind of bullying his sister might endure.
Sang Jinyu pulled Sang Ran further behind him. “What… what do you want?”
Fu Chenyan’s dark eyes shifted slightly, catching sight of the pink hem of Sang Ran’s skirt. He said indifferently, “Taking my wife home.”
“That’s unnecessary. This is my sister; there’s no need for the Fifth Lord to trouble himself.”
As Sang Jinyu pulled Sang Ran toward the parking area, Fu Chenyan turned around and suddenly spoke, “Don’t you want your phone anymore?”
Sang Ran stopped in her tracks. She had almost forgotten that she hadn’t gotten her phone back; it was still in the hands of that bad thing, Fu Chenyan.
Bad thing!
“Second Brother, you go back first. I’ll go back with him.”
Sang Jinyu asked, “Ranran, do you really want to go back with him?”
“Yes, Second Brother. I promised Dad, and…” Sang Ran stole a glance at Fu Chenyan and continued, “He probably won’t hurt me.”
“No.”
Looking at Fu Chenyan’s gloomy face, Sang Jinyu felt a bit apprehensive himself, let alone his timid sister. His sister was the most timid of all; the slightest noise could scare her into tears.
Fu Chenyan took a few more steps forward, his large palm grasping Sang Ran’s wrist.
“Coming with me? A pink bed and pink rabbits have already been prepared for you.”
Sang Ran nodded, seemingly using all her strength to do so. She had promised to stay by Fu Chenyan’s side for one year. A person should not go back on their word, especially since her family owed the Fu family.
Sang Jinyu watched helplessly as his sister was taken away. He raised his foot and kicked the wall beside him.
If… if their family hadn’t accepted the Fu family’s help back then, they wouldn’t have owed such a massive favor.
And why did his sister have to be the one to pay it back!
In the car.
Sang Ran sat beside Fu Chenyan. He had his eyes closed, his facial features sharp and three-dimensional, with a perfect profile.
Although he didn’t say a word, Sang Ran could feel that the man’s pressure was very low, with a bone-chilling coldness slowly emanating from him.
Unconsciously, Sang Ran shifted away, huddling into a ball in the corner.
“Afraid of me?”
Though his eyes were closed, he could sense Sang Ran’s every move.
“I…”
Sang Ran didn’t speak. Pouting her pink lips, she muttered softly, “Always so fierce, who wouldn’t be afraid of you.”
Although her voice was very, very quiet, as if she were talking to herself, Fu Chenyan’s hearing was superior to most. He heard her and slightly curled the corner of his lips.
“What did you say?”
He suddenly opened his eyes. Sang Ran immediately covered her mouth, looking like a little coward.
“I didn’t say anything.”
“Didn’t you?”
Fu Chenyan lifted the girl’s chin. Her face was white and tender, like a peeled egg, making one want to take a bite to taste it.
“Mm.”
Fu Chenyan maliciously reached out and pinched the girl’s cheek. Sang Ran’s mouth was squeezed into a pout, but she still didn’t dare speak.
Sang Ran: (ノ_。)
Fu Chenyan finally let go. He didn’t dare bully her too much, lest he… make her cry.
The next second, Sang Ran’s tears fell. The tears clung to her eyelashes, sparkling and beautiful.
“No crying.”
Fu Chenyan frowned and roughly wiped the tears from Sang Ran’s face.
Listening from the front, Li Yi felt a headache coming on. Who bullies their own wife like this??
This… it would be a miracle if they didn’t get a divorce.
Fu Chenyan pulled the phone from his pocket and handed it to Sang Ran. “Your phone. Stop crying.”
Sang Ran took the phone, looking at Fu Chenyan as if she wanted to eat him alive. However, she only dared to think it.
That bad thing, Fu Chenyan, was so tall and big; she couldn’t beat him in a fight at all. She wondered how she would ever defeat this bad thing in the future.
She wanted to give this bad thing, Fu Chenyan, a fierce beating, then kick his legs and bite his arm.
Just thinking about it made Sang Ran feel incredibly happy. So, at this moment, her dream was to bully that bad thing, Fu Chenyan!!
Fu Chenyan glanced at her sideways. Her eyes were darting around; she seemed to be plotting something mischievous again. He lightly pinched the girl’s soft cheek.
“What are you thinking?”
“Nothing.”
Fu Chenyan clicked his tongue. “Really?”
Sang Ran nodded seriously, her watery almond eyes staring at Fu Chenyan. Fu Chenyan let go.
“What do you want for dinner?”
“I’m already full.”
“Full?”
Sang Ran nodded. “Mm, I ate a lot while filming the variety show.”
Fu Chenyan didn’t ask further. The contract stated that they could not interfere in each other’s private lives.
Fu Chenyan had no forced requirements regarding this; he wouldn’t force her to stay home, as long as she accompanied him when visiting the old master.
However, he wanted to bring this little doll home tonight. Perhaps because… she was very easy to bully.
If Sang Ran knew what this man was thinking, she would definitely curse him out loud.
Bad thing!
Sang Ran went upstairs and saw that her room had been completely renovated. The walls were pink, and even the desk had been changed to a matching color. There were also many of her plushies, exactly the same as the ones at home.
Sang Ran hugged the pink rabbit and rubbed against it. It smelled exactly like the rabbit at home. How did that bad thing, Fu Chenyan, manage that?
Fu Chenyan stood not far away, quietly watching Sang Ran. He suddenly felt that this doll was very easy to deceive; a few plushies could make her so happy.
She also cried easily; a light pinch and she was in tears.
“Is this my bed?”
She pointed excitedly at her bed, her eyes sparkling. Under the light, she looked even more soft and delicate.
It was the first time Fu Chenyan had seen her smile so genuinely. He said indifferently, “Mm.”
“Thank you, hubby.”
She seemed very happy; she even dragged out the word “hubby” with a long trailing tone. Fu Chenyan suddenly felt that those two words sounded quite nice…
Sang Ran stood beside Fu Chenyan. Her height only reached just above his chest. From Fu Chenyan’s vantage point, he could see the top of her fluffy head.
“What did you do today?”
Fu Chenyan knew this wasn’t his place to ask, but for some reason, he wanted to know, so he asked.
Sang Ran looked up. “I went to participate in a variety show today and met many friends.”
“Men?”
Sang Ran: “Both men and women.”
Fu Chenyan nodded again. He wanted to ask something else, but his lips only moved slightly without making a sound.
“I’m going to eat.”
“I’ve already eaten tonight. Hubby~ I’ll accompany you while you eat.”
Sang Ran seemed to be in a great mood, perhaps because Fu Chenyan had prepared a beautiful pink bed and many dolls, all of which she loved.
Fu Chenyan curled his lips and began to walk. Sang Ran immediately followed behind. Fu Chenyan imperceptibly slowed his pace.
