“All right.” Little Wanwan fearlessly snuggled into his arms, wrapping her tiny hands around his neck.
It was Li Mobiang’s first time holding a child.
The soft little bundle in his arms weighed almost nothing. Even though she was so small, she carried a sweet scent, as if soaked in a milk jar.
The smell of sweat from the boys at home couldn’t compare at all.
Li Mobiang let out a light laugh, holding her with one hand while gently tapping her nose with the other.
“Let me ask you—do you like Big Brother more, or do you like me?”
This question stumped little Wanwan.
Her small hands fumbled with a few stray hairs on her head, tangling with her pigtails, her little mouth pouting as if she could hang an oil jar from it.
“I like Big Brother, and I like Second Brother too…”
Meaning she liked both.
“Ah, you little greedy one, trying not to offend anyone,” Li Mobiang said, pinching her tiny nose gently without force.
Wanwan giggled, hiding her nose on his shoulder.
Li Mobiang laughed for a moment, then suddenly remembered something. His laughter faltered, and the curve of his lips slowly faded.
Recalling the past few years—learning business alongside the eldest brother under their father—he hadn’t laughed this freely in a long time.
He lifted his hand to pinch her little cheek and walked inside, saying to the Old Madam, “Grandma, I’m free right now. I’ll take Wanwan to play with Third Brother for a while.”
Everyone in the Li family knew that although Second Young Master worked with the Eldest Young Master, he was closest to Third Young Master. They often played together, so bringing the little sister along was perfectly normal.
The Old Madam, however, looked displeased.
“Yesterday, your Big Brother monopolized Wanwan the whole day. She barely warmed up here this morning, and now you come to snatch her too?”
Li Mobiang’s smile didn’t reach his eyes as he replied, “Grandma, Big Brother is close with Wanwan, but it wouldn’t be fair for him to have her all to himself. Why not give us a chance to get close too?”
The Old Madam glared at him. “You’re the wittiest in the whole family, but I’ll say this once: take good care of Wanwan. If anything happens, I’ll know how to deal with you!”
When the Li family was first established, the Old Madam had been a powerhouse in business. Many male bosses had to walk carefully before her.
Later, she stepped back for the children, but her commanding presence never diminished. In the Li family, no descendant dared disobey her.
Hearing her consent, Li Mobiang smiled, holding Wanwan as he stepped outside.
“Second Brother, are we going to see Third Brother?” Wanwan asked from his shoulder.
Li Mobiang was surprised that this three-year-old little one could remember so much. A sly smile tugged at his lips.
“You remember Third Brother too?”
“Yes! Third Brother is fierce, a big dinosaur!” Wanwan waved both hands, forming a huge shape.
Li Mobiang laughed again, lightly patting her head. “Don’t be scared, little Wanwan. Even if Third Brother is a big dinosaur, he wouldn’t dare eat you.”
“Mm,” Wanwan nodded, easily believing his playful words.
As Li Mobiang approached Li Moying’s courtyard, the mischievous gleam in his smile became increasingly obvious.
From Wanwan’s angle, she didn’t see clearly and innocently thought Second Brother had brought her just to visit. She clutched the collar of his floral shirt, fiddling with it with focused attention.
…
The eastern Li family courtyard had two main houses: one facing south, one facing north, back-to-back, perfectly supporting each other.
This courtyard was within the main estate. Only the legal wife of the Li family and her biological children could live here.
Li Mocheng lived in the south house, while the north house was assigned to Li Moying.
“Third Brother, look who’s here!” Li Mobiang strode into the north courtyard, holding little Wanwan.
The moment Li Moying saw the little child in his arms, he slammed his Yunmeng-brand fountain pen onto the table with a pop, his youthful brows furrowed tightly, jaw tense, as if measured with a ruler—a picture of suppressed anger.
“Who told you to bring her here? Get out!”
The low growl from the boy startled little Wanwan. Her big round eyes froze, not blinking, her tiny body completely still.
Li Mobiang, afraid she would be scared, gently rubbed her back, glaring at Li Moying.
“Third Brother, why so loud? Look at the little one—she’s scared, her face is pale.”
He tenderly touched her delicate cheek.
Wanwan regained composure, puffing her little cheeks and raising her tiny arms with a “See? I told you so” expression, looking like a little adult—utterly adorable. Li Mobiang exchanged a glance with her, raising an eyebrow: everything was understood without words.
He then looked at the irritable Li Moying, stepping forward. “Grandma said all of us brothers must get along well with Wanwan. You avoided her before, but can you avoid her forever?”
Li Moying’s lips pressed into a thin line, his phoenix-like eyes cast a shadow, and a chill extended even to his nose.
He snorted disdainfully.
“Take one more step, and I’ll make sure you leave horizontally.”
Li Mobiang met him head-on, taking three steps forward in two, and shoved little Wanwan into his arms.
Li Moying’s eyes nearly popped out, as if terrified of contamination, retreating a large step backward.
Meanwhile, Wanwan, unexpectedly pushed forward, opened her little mouth wide, her round black eyes fixed on Li Moying’s face like a stunned kitten suspended in midair.
“What are you hiding from? Just hold her!” Li Mobiang approached again as he backed up.
The distance between Li Moying and Wanwan shrank again. As they nearly touched, his anger shifted to horror at the prospect of touching something “dirty.” He cursed Li Mobiang and fled to the side.
At the very moment he turned to escape, Wanwan’s eyes grew even wider and brighter!
She saw a massive black aura emanating from Li Moying, thick as clouds, enveloping him from head to toe.
As he ran faster, the mist swirled, forming a giant shadow breaking free from its core. Scales scraped against each other, generating white streaks like snakes shedding skin, slowly forming a real shape.
Two black dragon horns pierced through the mist, and a neck covered in dazzling patterns slowly rose, pushing back the layers of fog.
In the sweeping trail of the dragon tail, the mist sank, revealing sharp black claws and a gaping mouth, ready to devour all around.
Wanwan kicked her legs, her eyes sparkling with an unnameable excitement. In an instant, she reached out and grabbed the dragon horns.
Proudly, she showed Li Mobiang: “Second Brother, look! Wanwan caught the big dinosaur!”
From Li Mobiang’s perspective, the thing Wanwan quickly grabbed was merely the corner of Li Moying’s wind-flapping shirt.
And Li Moying, at the touch, froze like a stone sculpture, side-eyeing him with his phoenix eyes, surging with murderous intent.
“Li Mobiang, you’re dead today!”
