Before long, footsteps came close to the door. Caelen listened to the footsteps, and he could glean a lot from them. Although the footsteps appeared hurried, they were light and easy, intentionally making sounds. Caelen could easily tell that the owner of the footsteps was a skilled fighter.

’Of course he’s a skilled fighter. He’s an assassin, after all,’ Caelen thought.

The footsteps stopped at the door, and what followed was a slight hesitation before a low knock sounded. Then, the door was pushed open, and a head appeared.Full novel: The Academy's Villain Instructor — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The face was unremarkable and average, like that of a normal everyday person one would see on their way anywhere. There was nothing to remember it by. The young man that the face belonged to looked around the room timidly and avoided looking at Caelen as he mumbled, "Sorry....I came late...."

The students in the room tensed as they looked at the young man with sympathy. Before today, nobody cared about coming late, as it was very common, but now, with their Instructor’s strange behavior, they didn’t know what would happen.

They held their breath as they waited for his reaction.

Surprisingly, Caelen didn’t say anything. His face was even calm as he nodded. "Go have your seat, but next time, I’ll remove you from my class."

The young man nodded and swallowed as he hurried away from the doorway, avoiding eye contact with everyone. He appeared so nervous and timid.

But how could Caelen be fooled? The young man was just as strong as that young master Kolu. He was even more impressive with the bloodlust that clung to him, as if he were a survivor of a hundred battles.

Others might not feel it, but Caelen had killed so many living things in his life that he could detect even the faintest bit of bloodlust and killing intent. His abilities also allowed him to detect such things.

Suddenly, Caelen gestured. "Stop."

The nervous young man froze and then turned to him, his eyes wide. "Instructor?"

Caelen asked, "What’s your name?"

The young man lowered his head. "My name is Marek."

The class was again restless, and their attention focused on this Marek. Marek wasn’t a new student, and it was only now that a lot of them were realizing that they even had a student like that among them. You are reading on novelping(.)com, the official source.

Marek was just that unimportant and unnoticeable in Class Thirteen, and it was only now that they were paying attention to him. After all, their strangely behaved instructor had only paid attention to three students.

Caelen nodded. "Marek, eh. Why did you come late to my class?"

Marek stiffened, but his expression quickly returned to normal, so fast that it appeared as if it hadn’t changed at all. He grimaced and scratched his head. "I...slept late last night and woke up late."

"Why did you sleep late?"

"I was in the library," Marek mumbled.

Caelen smiled and gestured. "Oh? Not bad, not bad at all."

Marek stiffened again, and this time, it was easy to conceal his weariness. He simply did not know what Instructor Caelen was referring to as not bad. Was it his coming late...or another thing?

"Just go have your seat."

Marek hurriedly bowed and half-ran away.

To everyone looking, Marek appeared like a naturally shy young man who had suddenly come under the scrutiny of his Instructor.

But for Caelen, Kolu, and especially Marek himself, he felt like prey that had just escaped the eyes of a predator. His back was covered in cold sweat, and his palms were getting damp. Read the latest chapters at novelping dot com.

It spoke highly of his training that his facial expression didn’t show any unnatural signs.

Caelen also approved of his behavior. ’He’s a very good assassin. I’m sure he didn’t know that I knew about his identity, and yet he remained highly guarded. When I placed that blood on him to track him, I did not expect him to end up here with me. But this is also not bad.’

’I will have to track him later to see what he will lead me to. Of course, I won’t do it immediately. It might also be a trap from whoever sent them to see if they can lure me. They might not know that I know and yet still set the trap. In fact, this Marek appearing in front of me might be to see how I will react.’

Caelen quickly thought about this. And his thoughts naturally led him to think about another thing.

’When I first possessed this body, I was too hasty and revealed some things. The way I acted might already show that I’m not the real Caelen Seradon. But what can I do? Being in a strange place, it’s only natural that I want to know where I am as fast as possible.’

Caelen considered himself a smart person, but throughout most of his life, he didn’t need to use his intelligence to achieve things. He was the most powerful in a world for a while, and that had imprinted a level of natural arrogance into his blood. As if he were the highest being looking at the ground.

But things had changed several times. And here in this new world, he had to be even more cautious. But not timid. Never timid.

He smiled at himself faintly. ’So what if I revealed some things? I will still do what I must do to survive.’

He then looked at the students with dissatisfaction. ’Why do I have such useless students anyway? I need good and useful...students.’

Caelen began to think of how to best deal with Marek. At the same time, he began to ’teach.’ What he was doing was asking pointed questions and allowing the students to answer them, opening up the memories of his host and gaining an understanding of his own new world.

"....those Scions created Essence Scriptures based on the body part they devoured from the divine being. The Scions can also be divided into different parts because the divine body part they devoured is naturally different from each other...."

Just then, another set of footsteps came rushing toward Caelen’s classroom. But this time, the footsteps were swift and decisive, filled with arrogance and self-assurance.

Caelen frowned.

He could also feel a wave of concentrated pressure coming with the footsteps.
